The hummus was true to genuine authentic hummus - no too much tahini, perfect amount of garlic, and a perfect amount of olive oil. The bread - true to Turkish/Kurdish cuisine! We will definitely return every time we are in Cincinnati. My vegetarian son loved the falafel sandwich and said the falafel was wonderfully cooked. I ordered take-out from this restaurant yesterday. They're located in Anderson Towne Center, which I found to be enormous and confusing. I finally had to stop at their sister-restaurant, Mesopotamia, and ask for directions. The restaurant was clean and well-decorated. The staff seemed very busy but friendly and attentive. At first no one was available, and then suddenly three staff members were offering to help me, including the owner. But it was the food that made the biggest impression on me. The Grilled Chicken Thighs had a flavorful grill on them, but the hit was the Shrimp Casserole. The shrimp were plump and tender, the veggies were fresh and freshly-cut, and the sauce was absolutely amazing!! It was complex, with the piquant taste of yogurt. I couldn't stop slurping up spoon-fulls of it from my plate. It was a generous portion, expertly made, with a huge helping of equally flavorful rice. I cannot speak more highly of this place! Leyla's has quite literally the best Mediterranean food in Cincinnati. The last time I went, I ordered the babbaganoush, eggplant in sauce and kibbeh balls and it was like eating at your grandmother's table...if you grew up eating Mediterranean food like I did that is. The only complaint I have is that it's too far away from my house, otherwise I would be giving them lot more business. I went to this restaurant around 10 times. I am Muslim, so I only eat Halal food. Leyla Mediterranean is the only Halal restaurant in the Anderson area. Sadly, ALL of my experiences at this restaurant have been horrible. The owner is a very rude, disrespectful and openly racist individual. When I come into their restaurant, the first thing this man says is "Takeout?" Basically implying that he does not want me dining in his restaurant. I noticed that he was exceptionally polite and respectful toward white customers. I recently bought their Adana Kebab and the whole entire thing was a slab of rotten chicken. The food container literally smelled like trash. Never again. I wouldn't go near this place with a 1,000 yard stick. read more

This is such a great addition to the area! I came here for lunch one weekend and had such a great experience. The complimentary bread was warm and fluffy on the inside with a great crunchy crust, the falafel was fantastic and the baklava... just wow. Layer upon layer of flakey goodness.. The middle was soft with a generous portion of walnuts and the honey and pistachios on top really pushed it over the top. The patio is gorgeous and you must dine outside if you have the chance.. You are surrounded by beautiful plants, music and water features that make you forget that you are sitting in anderson towncenter. Next time I am in town I will be visiting again to try out some more of their menu. read more

My boyfriend and I went here for a date night. Everything was outstanding. The (what I presume to be) owner was serving us and brought fresh bread he baked and hot tea free of charge. All of the food was absolutely incredible. We got grape leaves, borek, stuffed cabbage rolls, the mixed grill plate, baklava, and the Mediterranean cocktail that I forget the name of. It was a bit expensive but worth every penny. We left full and happy and will definitely be returning! read more

LEYLA puts out magnificent dishes! After battling over the last bite of the appetizer medley for 2 plate, our entrees couldn't have came out ever so timely. I ordered the Adana kebab which was served with seasoned rice, and a salad that was tossed in some sort of vinaigrette. I really enjoyed every bite! My daughters and husband all enjoyed their entrees as well!! To our surprise, our waiter brought out a complimentary dessert which was very heartwarming to say the least, and so delicious! I'd say it's somewhat close to flan. What a beautiful family/staff, they are so friendly, and very attentive. Compliments to the chef; the dishes came out like a pieces of art, and full- flavored. Run don't walk to LEYLA! Food is superb and the service is wonderful. I've never had Mediterranean food before so they've set the bar extremely high. My literal first time eating Mediterranean (other than food truck gyros) so I had/have no clue what all of those dishes are made of. My vocabulary is horrible but my taste buds were screaming, "Yes!!" Hubs and I ordered the grill plate for 2. The chicken Adana, chicken kabob, gyro, rice and tsaziki sauce was absolutely amazing. The grill flavor was perfect. The lamb kabob is not my cup of tea but hubs loved it. We were served a salad but I didn't care for it. It came out warm, not sure if that's traditionally how it's done. For starters they bring out fresh bread with dipping oil. Both are melt in your mouth good. For a Saturday night, they had a packed house and only one waitress. We were told typically they have two waitress so the wait shouldn't be as long (we were there for an hour and forty five minutes). Our waitress apologized multiple times and was just the sweetest girl. There's another lady that walks around and fills water glasses, cleans up tables, chats with customers. She is wonderful. I'm assuming maybe the owner, regardless, I will always remember her for her gentle kindness. Dinner was on the pricier side but for the amount and quality of food, it's perfect. Don't come here expecting a "food truck gyro" unless you come for lunch. read more

This is pretty easily the best Med food in Cincinnati, on a good day. They've seemed a little short-staffed lately, and they do have off days, but overall it is really quite excellent. We've sampled most of the menu and it's all good. My usual go-to is the doner kebab plate, maybe a hummus appetizer if I'm really hungry. The bread and dipping sauce are also always a highlight. Read a few review and made our choice and it was a good one. I love me some Gyro meat. Looking at the menu at Lelya's I didn't see Gyro on the menu. I asked the waitress and she informed us that they called it The Donner. We ordered the Donner and Fried Eggplant. Everything was very fresh and very good. I mean like really good. Leyla Mediterranean is small cozy place. Very clean and just looks expensive. Don't be scared. The prices are right and the servings are well worth it. So don't be deceived by the fancy napkins and all. Lelya's is priced very affordable and nice size servings. With what WE ordered it was almost more than we could eat. This place is right up the road from where I live, so I can go there pretty much anytime I want to. I've had their gyro, lentil soup, hummus with pita, and probably enough other items that I feel I can give them a good review. I will say the indoor dining is a bit cramped, but that's okay. We've been here a handful of times. The food is amazing and if you can fit it, the appetizers almost steal the show. The cold sampler lets you try 4 of the most authentic pita bread spreads we have ever had. The liver warm app is unique and filled with flavor. They have a mixed plate of kebabs if you are indecisive and a good way to dip your toes in. Our personal favorite is the Lamb Sauté special. To start with the environment theyve created, there is no more romantic setting in the surrounding 10 miles surely. The service is wonderful. The staff is attentive. We visited on sunday night, and they were out of some options due to that. They may not know this, but we appreciated hearing that because it only means that they use fresh ingredients! The man who i presume is the owner offered a very, very nice lamb plate in place of what we had ordered previously. No one could have possibly complained, i assure you. We ordered the "Cold Appetizer for 4" for 6 people & it was amazing! The Baba Ghanouj is the best I've ever had, & we tried the Kisir & carrot tarator, which I've never had before & both were so tasty. 4 of us ordered the Mixed Grill for 4. It was a fantastic selection of perfectly seasoned & roasted meats over a bed of deliciously seasoned rice. The service was amazing, too! My wife and I are huge fans of Mediterranean food. We recently moved to the area from Northwest Indiana, but we had three Mediterranean restaurants in that area that we loved. Of course, we're trying to find options in this area that are just as good. Leyla was not bad, but I don't think it will become our replacement for those amazing restaurants. Shortly after sitting down, we were given some fresh bread with a sauce. I must say, it was delicious. Warm, fresh, crispy bread and a well-seasoned sauce. Some spice, some sweetness. Very promising start. I can't remember exactly what I got, but it was some sort of lamb shawerma dish, I believe. And it wasn't bad, but it was rather dry and bland. Lamb is usually full of such great flavor, but I didn't really get that, which was disappointing. To be fair, my wife liked her meal. She got a falafel dish with hummus and veggies. She said it was the best hummus she'd ever had, and I liked it too. I thought the falafel was fairly standard, though. We also decided to order a Turkish yogurt drink. We kind of expected a lightly sweet Greek yogurt desert-style beverage. It was unsweetened and tasted like plain Greek yogurt. Extremely tart. Maybe we should have asked about it if we weren't sure, but it still wasn't our favorite. Overall, I'd probably go back, but I'd search out some other Mediterranean restaurants in the area before revisiting. read more
