I come here to get my film developed! The staff is always so nice and extremely helpful. Sometimes when they are a bit busy you do have to wait for a few minutes before being helped, but the store has lots of cameras and gadgets to take a look at while you wait! They will email you a Dropbox link if you opted for digital prints. The turnaround time is so fast, one time they emailed me my photos within the hour. I always get both digital and physical copies and it's around $30 which i think is such a great deal. I love love coming here. read more

Came in on a whim while in town. I've entertained photography over the years and really wanted a film camera that wasn't going to give me too much trouble. To my delight, I discovered they have an incredible selection of vintage film cameras and a huge array of snazzy, hard to find film. I bought my second film camera, a Canon T70, from here. Super happy with the camera!! The differentiator for me buying my new camera versus not, was the staff. Junior and the rest of the team really helped me out. They patiently walked me through my options, and more importantly, found something that was going to work for me in my budget. They even gave me a tutorial on how to load the film and offered to have me come back with any questions I might have while taking me first photos with it around town. I am SO HAPPY I walked in. I was in the market for used film camera equipment. The greeting I received and the treatment following the greeting was, at best, less than stellar. I left the store rather abruptly and with a sour taste in my mouth. I have had business dealings with them before (including a purchase the previous day) and I hope that this can be chocked up to the one employee that I dealt with. I had a decent camera that hasn't been used in years. It was having issues auto focusing. I had asked other photographers to look at it and nobody seemed to know what might be wrong. I stopped in, the folks at LeZot were pretty busy but they didn't hesitate to take a quick look. They diagnosed the problem and I was on my way in minutes. The store provides a good service when servicing/restoring lenses, but the customer service could be better. There is minimal communication from the store about the status of the service, where the farthest they will go is a voicemail (which they claim to have sent one, but I did not receive any). With improvements on that aspect, I would recommend the store to others. read more

Employees are knowledgeable and they've been very supportive and helpful. For developing, they send the film out to a darkroom, I would avoid asking for scans because the scans you get back from the CD aren't good but that's not on Lezot, but the darkroom they send to. Lezot offers fair rates for scanning, printing, developing, etc...they also have a great selection of vintage cameras, their selection of modern cameras isn't great but they can order supplies for you. LeZot Camera - Beautiful print quality! - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - Burlington, Vermont

I can't say I was impressed by Lezot's when I brought my broken digital camera in for repair earlier this year. My review will only address their camera repair, not their sales. It's great that Lezot's is locally owned and operated, and that they have nice people working for them, but ... I've had my camera for three years now and so, technologically-speaking, it's a dinosaur. Considering how many times I've dropped it in its lifetime, I'm lucky it's lasted this long. Back in March, the rear display screen stopped working. Poof. Gone. Just like that. It still took pictures, but with no viewfinder, I was shooting blindly and so it became next-to-impossible to operate. I brought the camera in to see what could be done. Lezot's charges $15 for a repair estimate. I'm sure this is standard for all camera repair shops; nevertheless, I was put off by being charged before finding out if the camera was even salvageable. A few days later, the repair estimate came in for $100 ($79 for labor, $21 for parts). I'll leave it to you to decide if the labor rates are fair. Deciding my dinosaur camera wasn't worth the $100 in repairs, I chose to cut my $15 loss and take back my broken camera. A few days later, after attempting to fix the camera (read: pushing things around), it started working again. I realized that the battery wasn't sitting firmly in place but could easily be adjusted (by pushing down on one end) after which the camera works properly. I've had no problems with it ever since. I'm not sure what parts Lezot's thought my camera needed and why they thought it would cost $79 to do what I ended up doing parts-free on my own. Or maybe I've got this wrong. Maybe Lezot's is so awesome they fix cameras without even fixing them. If so, then I'm definitely impressed. read more

It's up a flight of stairs on the main shopping street in town, and not easy to notice if one's not looking for it. But any digital or film photographer visiting Burlington should take note that this place exists, even if only as a source of film & spare batteries. There's a lot of second-hand equipment on offer, and a decent selection of new-in-box cameras and accessories, as well. What prompts me to write this review, though, is the staff's attitude. Wander in looking for an old Series 5.5 filter for your Leica, or a 3.7-volt depleted plutonium Bulgarian market-only battery for your Lomo, and you'll see what I mean. These bright, easy-going geeks won't just chew their cuds at you across the counter; oh, no. They'll dive down, pull up a bunch of tattered cardboard boxes, dump them on the counter, and start rooting through every! single! one! until they've either proved they don't have your widget or you've left. And all the while, they'll ask you intelligent gearhead questions. Good people selling some decent kit, and they actually did have a slightly bastard filter I'd been looking for, last visit. Now that we got the time and budget to get into photography, we are in a place where specialty shops are non-existent. So, imagine my excitement when we discovered Lezot in Burlington's shopping hub in Church Street. And yes, if you're not looking, you will never know about it. All there is is a sign but you have to go up a flight of stairs (or use the elevator) to get to this tiny space. Okay, it is not that tiny but it sure looks cramped because of the numerous cameras and accessories jammed into every inch of the room. There's a small room with all kinds of photo bags and another room or two reserved for camera repair. I cannot give feedback about repair for I haven't had the need for it (and hopefully not for a long time). But the guys who work here seem legit. They look like they know their stuff. Lezot does not simply sell the latest of cameras and accessories, they have an assortment of pieces from different eras. It's almost like a museum! However, I would like to leave a tip to anyone who is on a mission here. Like with everything else, do your research. Know what you are looking for and know the average prices. I made a mistake by buying an LCD cover, thinking it's such a small thing and the price difference from other stores or sites online would probably be negligible. Well, B&H sent us a catalogue in the mail and while my husband was browsing, he found the exact same thing at about 60% less than what we paid for at Lezot. Needless to say, online shopping is a great way to find the best deals. But, I'm just glad that there's Lezot if I really, really need to see an item personally and/or I just have to have it at that instance. read more

The place is a little small and crowded -- but that just makes me want to poke around and explore more (maybe after the holidays...). The staff were super-nice and helpful -- I got my sensor cleaned and a lesson in how to do it myself in the future. I had a Nikon lens bayonet mount replaced by Lezot last week. The part was $10. They charged $89 for labor, which involved little more than removing seven screws and reconnecting one wire connector. Among the listed labor items was a "general cleaning". After getting the lens back, I found a piece of lint inside the lens -- something that was definitely not there before. I took the lens back, but they wanted another $35 to do a "deep cleaning." Outrageous!! I have learned my lesson. My advise is to stay away from these money-thirsty people! read more

Do not sell them your used equipment! Horrible customer service - the gentleman who reviewed my equipment I planned on selling was smug and didn't make any attempt to be friendly. I regret selling my old Canon 20D body and Bogen 3021 tripod to them, as I was offered a lousy $60 for the two. Could have certainly gotten more online. Was offered $40 for a good condition Canon lens that retails new for $400-450... decided to keep it. You can get 4x that by selling it online. All in all, a huge rip off, with staff that may be knowledgeable in cameras but aren't particularly keen on customer service. I love supporting local businesses even if it means paying a bit more, but not in this case. Will not return. read more

I sent my DSLR to LeZot to have the sensor cleaned. After a slight hickup with their computer system the sensor was cleaned and the camera is back home. My sensor had a couple of dozen black spots and is now clear of any spots at all! Very good service at a good rate. Very pleased! read more

My daughter, who needed a camera for a college class, had high hopes of getting a good camera and using it for her class after visiting Lezot Camera - a local business we wanted to support. Unfortunately, the whole experience turned out to be a nightmare and this is warning to all who walk into this place that things are not what they seem there. We asked about the used mid-level camera bodies and lenses and the first person that helped us was very helpful and knowledgeable. He steered us toward a brand that he said would be a good fit for her class and photography needs, and that also had a good price point. My daughter proudly walked out with a used camera so she could learn the art of B&W photography in her college course and I was confident that she was on her way to getting a feel for "old school" photography with the new purchase. Sadly, the camera never worked leaving my daughter in tears and in a panic because she lacked necessary equipment for her class. When we returned it one of the staff said it was not the camera, but may have been how my daughter was using it, and that nothing was wrong with the camera. I demanded they put in a roll of film and try it themselves and alas the camera didn't work properly as was my daughter's experience. To their credit, they offered to swap out the camera for another one. We asked about several other models, however they steered us back to the exact same model saying it would be ideal for her needs and so we went with their recommendation (again). We walked out thinking that perhaps the problem with the first camera was a fluke, that these were OK people, and that the second camera would save the day. Unfortunately, like the first one the second camera never worked and now my daughter was at risk of failing her film class (at the end of her senior year) and possibly not graduating. When we returned it to Lezot, we got the same response from one of the staff, that it was a user error, and again I demanded they load film into it and test it. Same results, it didn't work. The matter was handed over to another staff member (the one who originally helped us with the first camera) and he finally admitted (while the other staff member was out of ear shot) that "we've been having problems with this model of camera". That admission speaks volumes about LeZot and their business practices. After nearly 3 months the nightmare ended when I demanded a full refund. One of the staff processing my refund wasn't going to refund the cost of the several rolls of film that were ruined by the faulty cameras, but I insisted saying that the film was ruined by the poor merchandise he sold my daughter. He grudgingly refunded all our money and I walked out swearing that I would never enter this establishment again. This post is a warning, especially for college students and their parents to be cautious about doing business at this camera store. read more
