This review is long overdue. But I have to say I loved my experience with the team at LHP permanent cosmetics!! What I loved most about it was not only the education and information they shared with me prior to my permanent eyebrow procedure, but the care and time they took to make sure that my eyebrows were perfect for my face shape and eyebrow shape. My eyebrows prior to the procedure would take at least 10 minutes to fill-in because of the amount of hair that was missing from my eyebrows due to years of over plucking. After the procedure, I now can wake up with beautiful eyebrows that are already filled in and ready to go. Another thing I love about this team is they all work together !!! I had permanent upper liner done on my eyes about a month ago. Mara is a sweet professional who explains the process before, during and after so there are no surprises. She tells you the eye liner will be natural looking and that it is going to hurt. Both of these things were true. Do I love my eye liner now that a month has gone by and I forgot it hurt while she was doing it? Yes, absolutely. Would I go back and do the lower lids as I'm so happy with the top lids? Yes, absolutely. Mara did a great job, but remember this is not theatrical type eye liner, this is quiet natural eye liner that looks great day in and day out. read more

I purchased a deal for Mara after doing a bit of research. My MIL had mentioned getting her eyebrows done and so I hoped it would be a good gift. Turned out to be such a great gift, that I ended up doing the procedure myself. I will say that it hurts...a lot. But the follow up visit is MUCH easier than the initial visit. Thankfully Mara has a wonderful bedside manner and is a true professional. She really does her best to make you feel at ease. The procedure has taken years off my MIL and now myself. I bought a groupon for LHP. Called the number, spoke with Mara and explained I've had microblading done before and asked which technique is used. She could not answer the question or was too busy and said could be discussed when appointment was made. Kept my appointment and after inflammation decreased went some where else to correct what was done. When you first leave your appointment after mircoblading it is supposed to look awesome, then after inflammation goes down not so awesome, and then you go back in for a touch up. When I left my first appointment here, it looked awful. I recommend viewing pictures on yelp and on LHP's website and if your skin pigmentation does not match the pictures make your own call. Also, Mara was rude, unprofessional, and made me feel like she was doing me a favor by allowing me to have an appointment with her. So, after all of this, of course, I would not go back to this business to do a touch up or anything. As you can see by Mara's comment below everything I said was factual and true. If I need to post pictures but I did not deem it necessary I will do so. Mara's records are what she chooses them to be and nothing more. Choose wisely whom you will spend this amount of money on. I want no more dealing with this company's rudeness and being unprofessional. read more

I have gotten my eyebrows done by Mara three times and Gabbie did them once. My eyebrows (before tattooing) were sparse and naturally very light blonde. They hardly showed up on my face, which made me look several years older. I have medium auburn hair and the color they use on me is perfect. My brows look fantastic and very natural every time! One tip I learned is to take Benedryl the day of your appointment to prevent a stuffy nose and watery eyes. The vibration from the tattooing device makes that happen and Benedryl helps immensely. 3 tips from my dermatologist if you are getting permanent makeup in the winter . . . use Aveeno Calming Relief Cream all winter to prevent dryness, drink lots of water, and take Benedryl for a couple of days afterwards, This will ensure you do not have an allergic reaction, which some people with severely dry skin (like me) are more susceptible to during winter. read more

I went there last year to have upper and lower liner, brown and full lips done. It was a disaster. First let me say that she charges for the initial touch up and this is not normal. Most people include it. When I asked her about it she got defensive. Long story short I had to go back 2 or 3 times and at the end I am left with hardly any liner on the top, a small line on the bottom of my right eye and nothing on my left eye (so I HAVE to wear liner now to make it even) and my lips have hardly any color except a dark spot on the top lip where the color is too dark or went in too deep or something so I have to wear lipstick to cover it up. She knew I was upset and blamed me for flinching as to why she could not get color on the bottom left eye. My eyebrows are OK other than she would not go as wide as I wanted so I have to fill them in with pencil. So overall it was a waste of time and money and throw in the pain and the fact that I am forced to put makeup on now and I would say this was a mistake to do it. In reply to her post below: When it heals is when you can really tell. The picture she took of me was right after it was done and you can't tell what it will turn out to be. I have no reason to make the poor results up and I wish it had been a good experience. I was never complaining about the price so I am not sure why she brought that up. read more

I bought a Groupon for microblading. Though I was told the service being provided was microblading, it was definitely a permanent makeup tattoo/powdering effect. I paid the extra money to get my eyebrows microbladed but that is not what I received. There is no tiny hair-like stroke effect, but only solid color filling my eyebrow. I have never had any previous tattooing on my face/eyebrows, and the 'hairlike strokes' are a blob of color. They do not look bad, but they also do not look good and it is not what I wanted nor paid for. I guess that's what you get when buying through Groupon!! read more

I had gone to see Mara to get my upper eyeliner done. What I like about her is that she does a very natural looking eyeliner, not super thick so it looks like I still have makeup on from a huge party the night before! Not going to lie, it does hurt, but you're tattooing your eyelids, obviously that's to be expected, but the results are totally worth it!! Mara is super sweet and patient. I had both upper and lower eyeliner done. Yes, it is uncomfortable (ie hurts depending on your pain threshold) but it doesn't last too long & I love the look. The makeup is not overpowering, but just gives you a more 'alert' look without any other makeup on. Great for those of us that like to go sans makeup on the weekend, but our eyes seem to disappear w/out eyeliner! The pain was not so great to keep me away from my 30 day touch-up. I squirmed and my eyes teared alot during the first session. The touch-up session was nothing compared to the first and I was even able to drive the 4 hour trip home with no problem! read more

Mara is really sweet and explains the whole process with you and how permanent makeup is different than traditional tattooing. I got my upper eye liner done and it looks great so far. I will need to go back in a month for a touchup. Didn't really hurt. It was more ticklish than anything and your body naturally flinches but just try to relax. read more

First of all I made my appointment with Miara the owner. The cost was $150.00 I was expecting her to tattoo my eyebrows. We discussed on the phone what I wanted, I got their she told me she was not doing the eyebrows anymore for her own reasons, and that her Intern would be doing them. I was very hesitate about that, I was paying for the Owners work not an Intern. She actually talked me into having the Intern do them, I was very unhappy with the all around experience. I have had tattoos in the past, and she did NOT know what she was doing and Miara took over. I was ready to walk out. The area the Intern did the work My eyebrow area was swollen for 3 weeks. I was upset Miara called me up to apologize, and told me she would give me a free touch up . Which I do need now, but I will not go back! Make sure if you make an appointment that you know what you are walking into. I asked for a full refund, but she said no, and why would I go back! I recently saw Mara to get permanent liner for my upper eyelids. I found her to be impeccably professional, compassionate, and skilled. This was actually the first time I've had tattooing done *with* topical painkillers, and I was impressed at how little pain there was. I have been a client of Mara's for several years, but never really got the look I wanted (color more for a brunette than a redhead). My eyebrows are sparse, and I have to add auburn powder to them daily. When Gabrielle came on board with a new perspective about redheads, I was so excited. However, the end result was the same. My eyebrows do not look natural with my hair color, and I am disappointed. I am not posting this comment to receive any comments from Mara/Gabrielle . . . just wanted to share that if you are a redhead and want to have eyebrows in a similar color palette, this is not the place to go. After my initial and touch-up treatments, I still have to add color to my brows. Both Mara and Gabrielle are lovely, but I believe their specialty is brunettes based upon my experience. read more

I looked at every picture on her website and was very impressed with what I saw. I have always wanted to have eyeliner done since all I wear is eyeliner and mascara but I never knew anyone in Alabama that did this. When I moved to North Carolina, I was at work when Mara came in one day. She was as nice as she could be and I was new to the office. She made me feel very at ease and we started talking and she told me that she tattooed permanent make up. I was so excited. I made an appointment as soon as she had an opening.
