I was a little disappointed with their response time and availability for phone call. There is a main office line so it's hard to get in touch with who you scheduled with. I intended to cancel because we have bronchitis which might be a result of RSV going through our house. It's a 3 week virus so far so I was hoping to be better to make my appointments. It was difficult to cancel as there are no links and the phone line does not always go through. They never had a grace period for canceling due to being sick which concerns me. If you make an appointment and become sick, they are not supportive of cancellation. I let them know I had a physicians note and the severity of the virus. They never replied. read more

I have no doubt that the folks here are talented as heck. That's why I wanted to book a service with them. I took advantage of an awesome deal on lip blush (50% off!), but I immediately got the sense that Jen did not want to perform the service at the discounted price point. We went back and forth via email, which was a bit odd, before Jen finally let me know I could book the service online. I was already a little hesitant booking because I didn't want to get a cosmetic tattoo performed by somebody who didn't want to do it, but I was super pumped about lip blush and booked anyway. So I booked an appointment for New Years Eve in the AM, and cancelled my evening plans to ensure I'd be home for the swelling to go down. I also took off of work. Yesterday Jen emailed me needing to cancel my appointment. She offered me the ability to reschedule for 2 weeks later (!!) or get a refund. I chose the refund. While I don't doubt Jen and her team are talented at what they do, I felt a bit put off by the communication. She didn't seem particularly interested in working with me from the beginning, nor did she seem eager to help when she ran into a last minute scheduling conflict. When I book any service, I really look for great communication and good rapport; unfortunately this is where Altered Aesthetics fell short, and why I will take my business elsewhere. Edit: the business owner responded below, and marked my review as "funny". Not that it matters anymore but in prior correspondence, she told me i could not use a gift card to pay for lip blush (which doesn't make sense -- what's the point of a gift card if it can't be used?), but then she reversed course.
