So I'm making shorter reviews since it's probably too long. I went for brunch! The place is a Peruvian Dominican fusion and I can say TLDR(5/5!!) Now onto the Food, that is GAS (10/5) I had low expectations because it was a bakery but it's restaurant quality and it comes out fast. We had the Lomo Saltado which was extremely tasty. Top 3 I've ever had. The Tres leches was really good, it had a good balance between the condensed milk and the sponginess of the cake. We had two drinks the white one tasted like a creamsicle to me (mad good if you like them). The red drink was decent but the creamsicle one is top notch. I also brought the Guava and Cheese Paselitos (Their version of a Danish) and GODDAMN. Put those in the oven to heat up and you got a delicious treat right there. Price for flavor and quantity is 5/5 as well. The Service was pretty good, and very friendly. It does function as a bakery first and then a kitchen but I heard they added a dinner! Overall, no complaints there and the one I had was very lovely and provided the best recommendations. Decor and environment are quaint and cute! It's a great homey feel as opposed to modern and high class. With the food I much prefer the vibes it has now. I will be back to try the dinner menu for sure and will be a go-to when I'm at Montclair. read more

OK, so I just left here and I have to say the food was very delicious. The service was super quick. Of course I did come at an early time when they opened the coffee. I had the Cortado, which was good too. The Coquito latte was superior. The food here had very good authentic flavors no complaints now it is a little pricey, but I think that's because of the area but it's well worth the money the ambience it's a really cool place. We enjoyed it and we would definitely be coming back. I respect what the business is doing here and we look forward to you growing even more.. read more

We had the moist wonderful Sunday brunch here today!! Took a chance on the positive reviews and was so happy we did. Cute , cozy contemporary atmosphere with outstanding Dominican and Peruvian cuisine. I had the short ribs huevos rancheros that was out of this world! Meat was really tender too. My husband had the Sancocho and he loved it. Friends had the Pancakes and French toast and said they really enjoyed it. Service here is very attentive and friendly. They even give you little wooden bowl of honey to accompany your cup of tea. There were a ton of pastries as well, but we were too stuffed to have any. We'll definitely be back!!. read more

came here for lunch after working out with my friends pretty hidden, but plenty of parking around via street/metered the inside is really cute & quaint, the staff were all very pleasant it was pretty empty for a saturday around 1pm but it worked out for us, we were seated right away and was helped. we got the tres leches pancakes ($18) to share and it was SO freaking good, not too sweet, genuinely one the best pancakes i've ever had, highly recommend i personally got Lomo Saltado with Tallarin Verdetr ($24) which is basically a potato & meat mix with the BEST pesto noodles i've had , SO good together for drinks i got the Morir sonando ($4.25) which in my opinion tastes like an orange creamiscle where as my friend got the chica morada which was nice and tart (but not too tart) with the black bean papusa ($19) and mushroom enchiladas ($19). really impressed with the food quality here & quantity. the prices are a bit high but i believe they reflect the quality. highly recommend! read more

I'm so happy this placed opened up. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and a great option of Dominican and Peruvian food which we are limited in Montclair. First, the space is modern and clean. I love what they did with the place. It looks totally different than when Sushi Hana occupied the place. Second and most important, the food is great. Full stop. No, but seriously, the food just hits the spot. The food is seasoned well and the portions are just the right size. I'll be honest, the mangu needed more salt BUT I've been trying to cut out salt so I didn't mind. Also, if you like yours salty, just add your own. The fried fish (nugget) special was soooo good. The fish was seasoned perfectly--no missing salt here. There is a white garlic-type sauce thats good for dipping but the one that stole the show is the green sauce. Pretty sure I swirled my finger in there to scrape up the last bit of it. The plate comes with yuca fries and tostones that were deliciously crispy, a very generous portion. The pollo a la brasa also comes with the green sauce. The chimi is also very tasty. Basically, anything that you get here is delicious and you can't go wrong. Truly great. read more

We went for an early dinner to Montclair and passing by this wonderful space decided to try it out. Well, it didn't disappoint !!! I had a delicious and gorgeously presented ceviche, that I practically licked out of the plate ! My husband had a stir fried beef and vegetable dish, that looked amazing avd tasted even better. I also ordered seared tuna with some wonderful rice concoction, that I loved !!! We left the restaurant knowing we will definitely be back . Libélula is our go to local spot and also a great spot for events. Awesome outdoor space and beautiful welcoming dining room. The food is amazing. We'd recommend everything. The food for large events is served beautifully and the service is top notch. Don't leave without the chocolate bread pudding. Minus one star due to how forgetful the wait staff is....today I had to ask for salt and pepper, a cup of ice (3) times, and they even forgot to bring me an empanada that was ordered. I came here for Mother's Day brunch with my family . Upon entering the host was confused and although I made reservations they apparently didn't get them . I was livid, and showed him the Google email. They then agreed that although they are very busy they will " work something out " . We did wait for about 20 min but they did give us a table, the waitress was very friendly and we ordered the mango tres golpes and salad . The food was delicious and we had cappuccino and jasmine tea after both were great . The place is packed but I can see why ! It's very good food and a great place for a pastry ( they have assorted pastries although we didn't get any ) .Another perk is that they are Byob .Although there was an issue with the reservation initially they did work things out . Came here with high expectations. Place is cute, service if you choose to sit down and eat there is mediocre, so manage your expectations. Had the empanadas and they were just ok, one was still cold inside. Had the alfajor and tres leches latte which were delicious. Seems their sweet bakery treats are their strength. My husband and I just heard Lubelula opened and were so excited to try it for breakfast! This is their first weekend open. We arrived at around 8:30 and were able to sit down immediately. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The space was very bright and clean. The pastries in the front all looked delicious. We ordered a croissant, chocolate croissant, and alfajores cookie. I don't believe all of the pastries were available today but we enjoyed the ones we tried! The croissants were warm and flaky. We also ordered the Mangu tres golpes and an egg white veggie omelette. The flavors were amazing and blended so well! I really enjoyed the crispy potatoes that came with the omelette too. DINNER! For all you fans that have been waiting, run don't walk to Libélula's new dinner service. We went for Valentine's Day special menu and had three amazing courses of incredibly tasty and complex (but not complicated) dishes. The cold chicken salad, mashed potato and avocado appetizer could have easily been just one textural note, but was perfectly seasoned and balanced with enough acidity and slight sweetness. To make the blend of flavors just pop. Short ribs and Cod entrees were perfectly cooked, with a special mention to the amazing pesto pasta. And desserts, both the molten chocolate cake and the mango mousse, loaded with layers of flavor and delightful. We arrived after a day of shopping with no reservation but the owner said there was a wait. We didn't really wait too long when we were seated. The owner graciously served us an empanada on the house for waiting which was delicious by the way. For drinks we had a cappuccino and a coquito (non-alcoholic) which left me wanting more. I ran in right before they closed because I was stuck in traffic and was worried the staff were done for the day. The staff reassured me they were still open and happy to take my ordered. Wracked with guilt I ordered an empanada and two drinks only to not keep them any longer than necessary but let me tell you that everything I had was delicious! The inside ambience is so cozy and everyone leaving left with a smile on their face. I got a chorizo and potato empanada that was so good with the green sauce they provide and the Coffee and guava drink I got helped caffeinate and hydrate me in the best way. My friend and I each had the DR breakfast sandwich and a chicha morada. The sandwich was huge, and the bread was fresh and soft. We had it with a side of yucca fries. Everything was delicious. Stopped here for brunch awhile ago and was utterly blown away by how nice this place is. Ceviche in this place is utterly magical and tostones make it a killer combo. My kids loved Lomo Saltado - I have not seen them so excited about South American food perhaps ever. My wife also enjoyed La Bandera - us Ukrainians can never pass up expertly cooked pork :) I will note that portions here are very generous and amazing value for the money so if you are calorie counting - watch out :) Complimenting it all their baked goods are also great and a competent barista makes this as much a coffee destination as a food one. My brother stopped by to grab just a coffee to go and was able to speak with the owner, Brian, who was super nice & friendly. He recommended this spot since my husband and I live nearby so we decided to go the same day for lunch and it did not disappoint!! The yuca fries are a must!! I ordered the chicharron w/ a side of rice and highly recommend. It was crispy and not greasy. My husband got the lomo saltado which he said was very tasteful as well.
