Lomo fries.

Hello back again with another review, this time we tried Peruvian restaurant and boy when I tell you *chefs kiss* and it jumped up to 1 of my favorite restaurants right now. Everything from the service, atmosphere then food was a 10 outta 10. For appetizer we had the Lomo fries and boyyyy that was fucking delicious. Then for dinner I had like a like a seafood stew and ooo my good fucking delicious. Then for dessert and I had a chocolate tres leche. I plan on going back really soon to celebrate something. Man this place. Peace out .

The food was delicious and the service was great. Small restaurant so I would call ahead.

I've unknowingly followed this chef through a few of the restaurants he has worked at during his career, so finally I got the chance to purposely visit him at his recently opened brain child, Warique. I don't usually go out to eat on Valentine's weekend. But this restaurant isn't a large scale madhouse of an operation. It's quaint, inviting, and a small amount of tables, so I knew service wouldn't be rushed and quality would not suffer due to the holiday. The friendly hostess sat us and greeted my lady with a red rose at the table. Chef Roberto brought out an amuse of caviar that prepped our palettes for a wonderful meal ahead. First came the ceviche and the anticuchos. The ceviche is a refreshing start the symphony of flavors. The anticuchos were cooked to Perfection and packed a great savory and herbaceous punch. Next the jalea, a dish of fried seafood served alongside salsa criolla (a small red onion salad/sauce). All of the seafood we ate was extremely fresh and high quality. The final entree was the ribeye. It was cooked medium and had a nice aged funk to it (the good kind). The salsa criolla served on top with the sunny side up egg cut perfectly through the rich steak. We were full but had to try the lucuma pie. Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit that I used to have in ice cream form when I was younger. The pie was dense to the spoon but melted in your mouth with that familiar flavor. My girl said this was the best ceviche she has ever had. It certainly was a meal to remember. Hats off to the entire staff at Warique for the warm welcome and the hospitality. A new player has stepped on the court for Peruvian food. Make sure to go and give them a try. ENJOY!!!

Cozy vibes and delicious, made-to-order Peruvian dishes. Every plate was a 10/10. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly, and the chef even comes by to share the inspiration behind the food, which makes the experience feel extra special. It's BYOB, which is a plus. Parking is a bit limited since it's on a local street, but totally worth it.

Byob.

My husband and I went there for a date night. Reservations easily made through the website. We live locally and I've been dying to try this place. Finally had the time to check it out. We sat at the bar which was great. Chef Roberto was interactive, service was top notch. We ordered el lomo and pescado. El lomo was excellent, steak was tender and sauce was superb. Pescado was great, sauce paired well with the seafood. Ordered the chocolate tres Leches for dessert which was delicious. Place was small which I loved. You'd think it would be loud in there but sitting at the bar, I thought was more intimate than sitting at the table plus you get to see the chef work his magic. Definitely will head back to try other dishes. Love to support local. Nothing like this in Belleville.

My first impression of this place was that it was a bit tiny and I thought the reservation system was a little choppy. Little to my surprise once we got in and seated and put in the order, we went ahead and enjoyed our own bottle of wine that we had brought. This place is BYOB as of now. I thought the Chicha Morada was great. I enjoyed the fact that you can see the chef's cooking and also that the place isn't humongous. It's just right for a cozy restaurant.. the croquettes that we had tried had a perfect fry to them and the inside was creamy with the right amount of spice to the filling. My ceviche had some very tender calamari. Which pleases me very much, I also noticed that the lime that they are using or whatever citrus in that ceviche is very unique. It possessed a very crisp and clean flavors. My wife had the tallarines with a hanger steak. By the way, the kitchen had done a huge favor by substituting and making sure that beef made its way to her plate.. my risotto was a unique dish, it had hominy, toasted corn, shrimp and a creamy sauce to complement the rice. I have to say this was a great meal in a very cute restaurant that has only been open for four weeks , I have been to Peru and eaten some of the best food in the planet. The fact that the Chef came out and spoke to the tables was a plus plus. I wish these gentlemen a lot of luck on their establishment and hope to come back one day.

Pescado a lo Macho

The food and service were delicious!!!!! Such unique flavors incorporated into all the dishes I tried and the entrees were thoughtfully presented. My only suggestion though is to perhaps Uber there as it is a residential neighborhood and parking can be challenging to find

They have a few tables inside but it looks like most of their business is takeout. There were some TVs mounted on the walls and they were playing what I assume were Peruvian channels. I ordered the paradilla familiar, yucca frita, chaufa de pollo, and fries. The food took a little longer to come out than but it was a lot of food. The paradilla included 1/4 pollo, chuleta, 2 anticucho, pancita, choncholi, rachi, chorizo, churrasco con papa dorada y choclo. Everything went great with the big bottle of aji and mayo they gave us. It was way too much food for 3 people plus sides. We had plenty of leftovers. This location is closer to home than the Elizabeth one so I can definitely see myself picking up from here.

Each call was sent straight to voicemail and no one answered. I was forced to go to the store in person to find out what was happening. Upon arrival, I was told that staff were too busy to answer the phone. This is unacceptable. Being busy does not justify ignoring customer calls, especially for a business that offers delivery services. This situation reflects poor customer service.

The town it self was having some pavement work being done and it was difficult to find parking. I was driving away when I eventually found a spot and walked about 6 minutes to the location. As I got there I could see that the restaurant was full and lively. The hostess was friendly and communicated our wait well. It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

We came here on a Sunday morning for some traditional Peruvian breakfast…read more We ordered two pan con chicharron and a chicken tamale. For a drink, we went with the jugo especial. The pan con chicharron was incredibly packed, I could not even fit it in my mouth, so much flavor yet little fat. The tamal was good, not the best I've had but pretty solid. Both were "true" Peruvian servings. The jugo especial was very good!! It took me back to going to the mercado back home and getting one. The service is absolutely incredible. The owner is incredibly sweet and told us his story about his family's restaurant back home. They have plenty of seating and a nice bar area as well. I will most definitely be coming back to give their lunch and dinner dishes a try!
