I booked us thinking I was just another fun activity to do with the family while on Cape Cod, but it was so much more. The people that run this treat you like royalty and are so grateful you are there. They are all so kind and so warm and welcoming, I could not get over how genuine and helpful they were. We didn't think we'd be able to get a ticket for this before we left, but they've bended over backwards to make it happen and we are so happy with the memories we made. The sailing was calm and smooth, being under sail is so relaxing. The crew are excellent with children, they show them how to raise the sails and how to steer, it's very interactive. Our group had people from age 9 to 84 and all were happy. It's an incredible adventure especially for how inexpensive it is, the morning sails are priced lower. The crew tells stories about places you'll see from the water and there's trivia too. Here's some tips-- If you walk there or park in a lot that is not connected to the dock, they will give you a token for a free drink aboard the boat. They have blankets and pillows to keep you comfortable. They board the boat in order of people who show up to check in. There is no rushing or clamoring to get on board the boat because you follow the number order. There are no bad seats on the boat. They serve soft drinks, water, juice, ginger ale, beer, wine and cocktails. They put the drinks in cute fat coozies that you can buy for $1 if you want to keep. Bring cash to tip! They are great! We had such a wonderful time that we wanted to book again before we left, but we ran out of time, we will absolutely be back and sail with them again. read more

Exceeded our expectations. We went for a morning cruise to Vineyard Haven and back. What a great way to start our day! The crew was friendly and took care to make sure all the passengers were attended to. It's seldom that I post positive reviews because in today's world most service oriented industries treat people with the bare minimum of care. The owner and crew certainly left us with a fond impression and we only hope that we get to travel on the Liberté again! read more

It was okay but I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back. We took an afternoon sail and it was quite boring. You would think they would play music or talk a bit about the island and what we're were passing but other than a 5 minute talk ( that we could barely hear since they don't use mic), that was it. We just swam in circles for 3 hours and tipped from one side to another making it quite uncomfortable. And captain and his helper smoked several times. I didn't think it would be possible not to like a trip like this but honestly it just wasn't a great experience and I would skip! read more

A must! My dad took my 3 siblings and I for a sunset sail. The captain was AMAZING! Very funny, genuine, and truly enjoyed his job. You get drinks on the boat, it is incredibly spacious, and the boat itself is a masterpiece. The captain told us the story behind the boat and it's a wonderful story (I'll leave it for all of you to take the trip and hear it for yourself)! The sunset views, the water, the sails on the ship itself, everything was breathtaking. Before you get on the boat there is also a great seafood spot with great lobster rolls and fried clams!!!! My dad also had been in an accident and needed help On the boat with using his cane, and the captain helped him up and was more than accommodating. He even followed up with a call to check up on my dad and family! BEST EVENT EVER! Thank you!! read more

Everything was great except for the fact that the captain smoked, his crew member smoked, and he allowed customers to smoke. If the smell of cigarette smoke during an ocean sail doesn't bother you then have a great time - you will love it! I won't be back until they establish a no-smoking on board policy. read more

This is a beautiful boat and genuinely kind crew. Despite encountering some unexpected weather, I felt like the sail was well worth the $$. Seating has no back support, so if you need it, consider bringing one of those stadium seats. read more

All around great experience. Captain Chris and his mate Christian were pleasant, knowledgeable and skilled. Our family really enjoyed the morning sail, cruising around the sound while learning some interesting trivia about the history of Cape Cod, pirates and whaling. Really recommend. read more

Due to an odd confluence of factors (weather report) we were the only family on this voyage which made it feel like we had a private yacht. What an amazing experience as this ship was skillfully piloted by its captain for a couple magical hours on the ocean. The crew was young and so very friendly. They were learning from the best. Four of us experienced this adventure on a gorgeous sun filled morning. We arrived early so we were able to watch the crew ready the 74' three masted ship before boarding along with the other 46 passengers. The three member crew were most attentive to the passengers and their safety without being overly protective. What a thrill it was when the sails were hoisted and the stiff breeze had us on our way. Chris, the captain and owner, kept us informed and entertained throughout our 2 hour journey with his banter and sea stories. Nate and Chris were at our beck and call to answer our questions and provide us with reasonably priced refreshments. We were fortunate to do this sail that day when there were several other boats on the water participating in a regatta. What a beautiful sight it wants! read more

A lot of fun and relaxing. The captain keeps his instructions to a minimum so we can just enjoy the sale. Great value for the enjoyment.

I am giving this activity a two because I was not satisfied with my trip. A sailing experience is suppose to be comfortable and relaxing. Unfortunately, I was far from that. There were several situations while sailing with Liberte the Schooner that concerned me and made me uncomfortable. First off the crew seemed a bit inexperienced and at times I felt like some of the staff members had no idea what they were doing. A bit concerning to me, since I was in the middle of the ocean and I am far from a good swimmer. Second the boat was extremely slow and the sun was beaming down on me. I literally felt like I was about to pass out. At one point, when returning back to shore one of the passengers screamed "thank God were back. Further, the captain went on this annoying speech explaining me the history of his boat.. Umm annoying once again. However, they were some staff members who were very sweet and nice especially the bartender.. Hence, if you are looking for a great sailing experience in cape cod I advise to look somewhere else read more
