I went in person to cancel 11 days ago and as far as I can tell, the process isn't even initiated. First was told that they couldn't help me there, I needed to email a location inbox with my request. I did this same day. No response or acknowledgement for a few days, so I followed up with a phone call to check in. Got an apology for the delay from the person I spoke to, and that they were going to personally check with their manager on my request. No response to my email request for another few days, so I followed up by phone again... same story. Person I spoke with said it was unacceptable and they'd check in for me. Absolute crickets. Their excuse is that they just got a new manager? And said they were receiving a lot of phone calls about cancellations because I guess no one is currently responding to the inbox?? Over a week to acknowledge and respond to the request is staring to feel shady, and I wouldn't be surprised if this stretches to over 2 weeks or longer. I am expecting them to honor the date of my request though for what is I believe a 10 day lag for cancellations, and that I should not receive any additional monthly charges.

I canceled on his website account and his account was disabled immediately and never can went in to check the status. Then I had to cancel the payment through the bank. Now we kept on receiving crunch debt collection. This is crazy! And if you read review, we are not the only victim regarding this! I will talk to legal service! This is crazy and illegal. Why do I need to cancel the membership with the manager. We do not need to see manager when we sign up!

I've been lifting weights since 2012 and compete regularly when I am able. I recently moved to the…read morearea from California and was looking for a gym that focuses more on strength-based sports like Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting without all of the extras. Forged is relatively small and has a simple set up, but it has everything you will ever need as a strength athlete. Olympic platforms, a full rack, powerlifting and oly bars, kettlebells, free weights, rowing machines, KG and LB plates, etc. They have daily workouts posted that you can do or you can do your own programming. They also have classes you can take including how to lift weights for beginners and a crossfit-type HIIT workout. My favorite part is this gym gives you 24/7 access so you can go at any time. They have a full bathroom with a shower. As someone who tends to lift weights later on at night, i know i can take my time and not rush through my workout to leave because the gym closes too early. If you're a super early riser, this gym will work for you too. I appreciate how friendly and welcoming the space is. I'm a queer woman and am often wary of perceived "bro culture" in gyms. This gym is woman-owned and operated, which means it's absolutely NOT a bro culture-friendly place or intimidating in the slightest. I've even brought my dog in a couple of times. This is a place for everyone - whether you're just starting out and want to learn how to lift or if you're a seasoned strength athlete who needs a spot to work out, you are welcome here. However, don't expect this to be priced similarly to Planet Fitness or a gym like PF. You get full programming and access to knowledgeable coaches during coached times so it's priced accordingly ($115 for a full membership). You get what you pay for and Forged is 100% worth the money.

Forged Barbell is one of the most inclusive and warm spaces I have ever been to. There is none of…read morethe "macho man" mentality that so typically characterizes powerlifting atmospheres, and all of the coaches guide each member with such individual attention and precision. Lauren (the owner) is an absolute wizard when it comes to form, alignment, and lifting regiment. The programming is extremely creative and varied. I have never powerlifted before coming to Forged Barbell, precisely because I was intimidated by the stereotype of what I thought heavy lifting was, but now I am addicted! Forged Barbell is the exception to the rule, and so much more!

I thought I might die. Or, at least pass out…read more I reminded myself it was only an hour class. And, ok, ok, so it didn't kill me. It was the first time I'd seriously picked up a racket in almost 12 years. I used to play tennis for a short stint in high school, long long ago. It was the only sport I've ever really competed in. I was pretty decent. But that was over a decade ago. What convinced me that when my mom dropped out of class called "cardio tennis," I should take her place? I was obviously not in my right mind. Despite my wheezing and lack of desired degree control over the ball, I managed to get through, and get one hell of a workout in the process. I don't think it's something I'll be doing regularly (particularly since there's a tennis court right behind my house where I can practice at my own (slower) pace. However, I was grateful for the class because it gave me an excuse to see these facilities. As with most things related to U of M athletics, the Varsity Tennis Center seemed very well funded, well designed, and in great shape. The staff was surprisingly friendly and helpful (even letting me borrow both shoes and a racket), and the locker rooms were squeaky clean. Maybe I'll return for regular tennis lessons -- but no more "cardio tennis" for me, thank you!

Every time I am told they will leave a note to their manager, but I haven't seen any changes. How can the keep charging me for a service I don't want?
