My furnace has a pilot light. It was yellow in color. Called Liberty because they had good reviews on Yelp. Kevin tested my furnace and found no problems. The co was very low and there were no cracks. He red tagged it because it was old! Not broken. I then had Excel come out. Found it was working properly. They replaced the thermo coupler and control valve for routine service. He removed the redtag. Liberty just wanted to sell me a new furnace that I didn't need. read more

I can't tell you how wonderful it is having a company like this be my HVAC company. I know it sounds silly but over the last few years I've been so thankful that I picked them to install my Lenox system. The owners Jim and Karen are the epitome of ethical and honest business owners. I LOVE them! I installed a complete HVAC system at my home after the system that originally came with the house finally gave out ( homebuilder issued not Liberty Comfort). Jim and his team came in and completely replaced all of it. Even having to install new ductwork to better service the upper floors. I loved it so much a few years later we also had him install a new system for our vacation home, which was an extremely complicated construction project- but not for the HVAC side of things of course. He did such an awesome job both times! Even though I can be a bit if a pain sometimes they are always super patient with me and my OCD. Since then I've recommend him to many of my neighbors which have also been satisfied. What really got me is several years later when I still call I feel like I am as important as I was on day one. Although I've rarely had any issues with my system ( if I did really minor things) Jim has even offered to come over in the middle of the night himself if need be. (That particular night just required a simple reboot) The point being, this is the type of company you want on your side. Not some nationwide large company where you are just another number. Called Liberty asking if they provide free estimate, she told me she would have Chris call me Monday, which he did. He came out the next day during the time frame he gave me and I proceeded to tell him what happened and what I needed. He immediately put on his shoe booties, which I told him he didn't need. He provided me with two different options and gave an estimate on both. I had two other electricians out that same day for an estimate and I went with Chris. He listened, he was knowledgeable, super nice and he even remembered me mentioning my exhaust fan when I talked to him the day before. Chris came out the day after that and was there right when he said he would be, brought two other guys with him and they completed the project within 2 - 2.5 hrs. I had left for work 30 mins after his arrival and he went through again what they were going to do and asked if I had any questions. He called me when it was done and said it was successful and my AC was working again. He was able to retrieve the old wire and show me why my AC didn't work. He thanked me for my business and if I ever needed anything done in the future to give him a call. When I got home from work, I was happy to see they cleaned up any mess that was made. When we bought our house a year ago, it was evident that the Furnace and AC were going to need to be replaced in a few years, well a few years ended up being 6 months. We had a rather tight budget, so I started getting bids to replace the aging units. I collected 6 bids in total of the course of a few months, including very seriously considering doing my own install. Liberty wasn't the lowest bid but it was the best value overall, considering equipment, options and warranty. They were quick to get the units installed and returned to finish the commissioning and startup of the AC. Jim was very friendly and responses to questions, I would say install quality ranged from average to good. I did have to make some minor adjustments to reach my personal standard for quality, which is exceptionally high, and unreasonable at times. Liberty is one of the few local MSP dealer to offer Daikin equipment. Diakin in a global leader in HVAC equipment who has pioneered many of the innovations that are found in the HVAC industry today. read more

When our furnace wouldn't ignite we called Liberty on a Saturday and Jim came out within a couple of hours. Jim is very knowledgeable and got our furnace going again temporarily and helped us determine which furnace would be right for our house. Our new furnace was installed right away Monday morning and when the city came out to inspect they asked us who did the work? We told him it was Liberty. The inspector said I have to check because it's my job but we never find anything wrong with their installations. To hear that from a city inspector, reassured us that we called the right business. I had been a loyal customer for many years, but no longer. Furnace quit and and called for repair. They could not get there until next day late afternoon. In the past they were very reasonable and I can see why they received so many 5 star reviews. Things have changed! This time the tech came up and said we had a faulty gas valve. They no longer let you know cost of parts or time of labor. It comes in 3 packages where the cheaper one is fixing the problem. It becomes far more expensive for the others for things you do not need. First ask was for close to $1000. I said that seemed high and was dropped to $890 right away. I needed heat so had it fixed. 1 1/4 hours total with diagnostics. Would not give me a cost on parts or labor. Looked up sum on cost of parts and total was $150. Service call $89. Now even at their "discounted rate" that's $434/hour for labor. Now I did pay, because I have 2 children with no heat, but this is a company taking advantage of those in distress. When I called the following day to talk with someone I was told I needed to talk to Karen the owner. After 2 weeks and several calls she finally took my call. I was told this is how they now do business and that I did not understand how overhead works. I asked for a breakdown on how this could ever be thought prudent and was sent some percentages on what helps her sleep at night. I am appalled at their lack of ethics and hope in all honesty our older generation does not fall for their higher tier price packages. Buyer beware! read more

Jim was great he came out and worked with my wife to get us a good quote, and even called us before we had made a decision to give us another option on a special buy they had made. When our old, old A/C unit stopped working we thought we'd need to replace it. I got a few quotes that we're way too high. Jim and Karen at Liberty gave us the best quote, but it was still a little too cost prohibitive for our budget right now (we just bought our house, and a new A/C wasn't in the budget until next year). Our existing AC went out last Fall. We decided to hold off until Spring before we made a purchase. I had six different vendors provide us with a proposal. He installed our new furnace and water heater a few years ago, gave us an honest assessment of our current AC unit (and did not push us into purchasing a new unit). All had been running perfectly until New Year's day 2019 when we found our temperature dropping quickly. Our A/C went out this summer. Their technician was out promptly, but had bad news. Since it was an older unit we wanted to know what the options were. Jim came out personally to discuss what could be done, what couldn't, costs, benefits, etc. No high pressure, he just laid it out and let us decide. I thought that was great. The install went smoothly, no issues. Later I felt something wasn't quite right. Jim came to the house and listened. His expertise allowed him to diagnose the issue, which had to do with the design of our house, not their equipment.
