Arcades with dance machines is what attracted me to Power Play. Being that it was my first time here, I checked in with the front desk clerk. She was friendly nice and informative providing me with the details on how to enjoy this venue. Directing me to the various payment options she informed me about a $15 four hour special that I immediately took advantage of. Thank you for having that special. I had a real blast because of that. There was an awesome pinball area with many fun and interesting pinball machines. Pinball machines are super fun. I want to be clear that I loved spending four hours enjoying this arcade. Some of the machines seemed to be under disrepair. While I was there, other people seemed to be enjoying their time with their families. Even with machines not in the best condition I found ways to enjoy myself. When I found a game that wasn't working as intended, I enjoyed looking for what was different about it, then looking for a different way to enjoy the experience. Understanding and being patient with people is important to me. This business is ran by people. I understand that people want to do good and try their best. I know people need the care and attention so they can know what is good and right. Another way I was able to enjoy my visit despite the state of machines is to look for more than one perspective. First perspective for the broken machines is that the staff doesn't care about fixing anything. I refuse to stop there so I look for another perspective. Second perspective is I noticed a help wanted sign in the window while walking in. Also much of the staff seem young (COVID generation) so maybe they don't know what to do. Maybe there's no one skilled/trained enough to repair the machines and the staff is doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. Arrived on Saturday at 11:15 and the doors were locked. An employee came and immediately opened them when she saw us. According to the sign they open at 11 but apparently someone forgot to unlock the doors. We bought a package that included gameplay cards plus pizza and drinks. Since we were the first ones there, there was no one in the place for a good half hour. Some of the rides and attractions were not open however we found after looking at all the games plenty to do. After about an hour the kitchen opened and we were able to order our pizza. While we waited the 30 minutes for it we played a few games. One entire soda machine was out of service and it was the one with the diet soda options. The tables were dirty as well as the floor, which was surprising since it had just opened. Employees were either on their phones or chatting with other employees A few of the machines did not function properly, but when I told the girl at the front desk, she credited me back. The customer service was excellent. The food was the only down side, but that's kind of to be expected. Chuck E Cheese could learn a few things from this place but the pizza was like eating cardboard, tomato paste, and fake cheese. My daughter enjoyed the rides and game. This PowerPlay experience was utterly unacceptable. 1. I entered with my grandchildren, and the Assistant Manager along with another associate simply chatted among themselves while I stood visibly waiting for assistance. Let's just say I corrected them quickly on this unprofessional misstep. 2. Numerous machines were out of service, yet they continued deducting points without providing any of the promised services. I had to personally keep returning to the front desk, which took away from the experience. 3. Every employee except the young lady at the front desk was engrossed in their cellphones. 4. I had to search repeatedly for staff to operate the rides so my grandchildren could enjoy what was available, as stations remained unmanned. 5. Staff members were eating at the front desk openly, with the Assistant Manager bringing food to one employee while I was trying to have points put back on the card yet again from another game not working. 6. The ticket redemption station was closed/locked. I had to return to the front desk again to find the young man who should have been back there standing at the front desk eating. He casually said he was "trying to eat" when I inquired about exchanging tickets for prizes. This entire experience was beyond disappointing--and there are no valid excuses. Numerous establishments take your money without delivering quality service. This is one of those places. We wasted far too much time attempting to spend $100 worth of tokens, and we will absolutely not return. read more

This place is a Jam! Me and my nephew loved it! The funnel cake was splendid and my nephew says the hot dog was 9/10 he says it needed it a bit more cooked The games were splendid! We had a Birthday Party, The Party room is really small but the lady that help was really good so we tipped her well. We had plenty of food. But that's the only good part. More than half the games are broken, go carts not running no tilt a wheel nobody in ticket stand. We really paid a lot of money and more than half our party kids left early because all the loitering. People standing everywhere in the way not paying any money very rude. I feel bad for the staff they are very overwhelmed. I don't see this place staying open much longer which is sad. Entertainment center that has more mature games than Chuck E Cheese and has a better price point overall than Dave & Busters if you go during Power Play's special "3 hours for $15.00". A price that is hard to beat. Majority of the indoor attractions and arcade games are for $15.00 for 3 hours. You will definitely get your money's worth from the high end games such as Dance Dance Revolution, Pump it Up, Guitar Hero, or the little ones may enjoy trying to beat the timer in a 007-don't-touch-the-laser game. Looking at most, if not all; the other reviews are based on the "teenager" employees. Didn't really have any interactions with any staff other than the purchase of the card and it's not like they have staff kicking people out once you've been there for three hours. I really can't say too much about staff interaction, but for $15.00 and for us keeping our interaction to a minimum - it definitely warrants a five star review. read more

Took the family to power play on a Wednesday $15 special. I would not pay more than that ever. The place is worn out. Portions of the video games don't work or are broken. The place needs a deep cleaning. I'm not sure when the food court tables have been cleaned or Maintained. The chairs and tables were broken. Food was not completely available because they were cleaning the fryer while still trying to make people's food without gloves or washing hands. read more

I feel like when this place opened it was running at full speed. Since the pandemic I feel like they are running at half speed and could use some improvements. The passes are reasonable but I would say they overcharge for the games available due to the quality and condition of them. For one, my friend was on one of the rides another time and one of the bolts came out of the roller coaster. When he was on the ride the roller coaster seems to make people dizzy one time. I was there a kid because of how dizzy he was he got his sat on the bench, there was trash everywhere And then they were trying to give me a party room that they made my mom pay a lot for it and was really tiny and it smelled really really bad And it was a princess room and it was the most expensive And they had that one ticket thing you know what you get for your birthday put in it they had that deflated I didn't even get to do that and my mom paid a lot of money so I could do all of the stuff it's like every time I go the birthday party started off good and then they just keep getting worse I would most likely have like none of my family have another birthday party there unless they really really wanted it if you wanna party like that y'all should just go to Chuck E. Cheese at this point or have it somewhere else? but there's a bunch of new power plays maybe go to one of them maybe power-play will see this and step up the game. One of the workers were mean. they would give us dirty looks but I gotta say they're lemonade was super good. I love their food. in the bars for the roller coaster, they barely even pushed them all the way down, but the worker was really nice and I told her to stop the right cause my friend was about to puke and she did she and she gave me a free ride at laser tag took forever in mine for one round late and laser. Laser tag was pretty good actually laser maze was not very fun like it used to be. sometimes people have Covid or they're sick and they go there and they could or they have something or they're smoking and it hurts other kids lungs or makes him sick. It made them really real sick and one of my friends with my little cousins friends sister passed away because of it because of all because she was she was a really bad watch. I'm pretty sure right. My 14-year-old son loves coming for the go karts and he indeed had a great time with an empty track. The 2nd floor observation deck is totally uncovered. I am guessing when it's July/August, spectators roast like a rotisserie chicken. It really needs an awning or cover. There are a few deck chairs near the railing but otherwise not much up there. There is a snack bar and buffet though we've only gotten drinks at the snack bar. The odd thing is the snack bar only takes credit cards or PowerPlay cards. I imagine it keeps theft down but it's a hassle for the customer. For some reason, the tile in the food area is always sticky, even at opening when we arrived. We noticed some uncovered wiring on the stairs leading to the observation deck but they did remember to put required fire extinguishers on the go kart track. It's an ok place but could be so much cleaner and welcoming with a few touches. read more

I would have given my rating more stars but I was highly disappointed with the service by the buffet. After paying for the buffet, that was delicious, it was 9:30p and the cashier said they closed in 30 min. At 9:37p the staff began to pack up the buffet while we were still eating!!!! I asked the cashier why would she sale us a buffet and they are putting up the food. She replied that they are only packing up to make it easier to clean once the buffet was closed. It is not very accommodating to the guest and seemed very rude. Our experience is more important than your conviene. They were able to clean up in record time but I felt rushed and was unable to fully enjoy their buffet. At 9:50p the staff worked asked if I was doneSHAMELESS!!!On the up side the buffet was only $6! This last visit was much improved over many prior visits. The buffet was full and very fresh and they finally brought back the soft serve machine! I don't know if they've gotten better at rotating movies in the movie room because there was a special event going on there. We went here last minute for my 4 year olds birthday and told friends to just meet us there. They ( the staff) hounded not only us but our guests as well that they could not bring in gifts because "we" did not purchase a birthday package. So every single guest that showed up for us they proclaimed to them that we didn't purchase a bday package. Rude and inappropriate. My 4 year old witnessed this each and every time. No sign anywhere and on website it says nothing about gifts not allowed and you didn't have any room for bday package reservations just totally non compromising for people dropping hard earned money at your facility. Let's also keep in mind to the right of the front desk at the bistro tables there was a table of people who had gifts and opened them. When I ran to inform the clerk she was suddenly visually impaired. The whole visit I watched as people floated through the front door all over the facility delivering and opening gifts, not purchasing a thing!! Guess it was just me Let's also keep in mind though that we spent over $300 in adult and children buffets and attractions for 12+ people. The food was okay but I'm comparing to Shawnee . They do need to add more items to the buffet it's obvious the empty spaces where food could be. One horrifically unsanitary thing...at the dessert bar there were no tongs nothing!! People were digging in the dessert and who knows where else. Also they weren't many people eating but dirty dishes lingered longer than 30 minutes after guests had gone. Also the food didn't come out in a timely fashion it's like they waited until a pan was totally empty to begin cooking some more. The staff did seem like they would rather be elsewhere as well. The points are silly like instead of 13 points its 12.5, c'mon marketing desperation! Some of the games were not working either. Hope the kids don't ask - because I won't be back if I have anything to do with it. If you are looking for : -Entertainment (sand volley ball, corn hole and few hokey games) 4/5 -Atmosphere 3/5 (good for people watching) -Food 1.5/5 I am feeling generous to give the extra .5 (I can eat about anything with out issue) not sure how they could screw that up -service 1/5 there is enough wait staff for sure why they are not available is Beyond me. Both times had to hunt them down for anything. I started to wonder it the customers were invisible. I gave a 1 because I could not give zero. I have been here a few times and didn't have a great experience tonight. Came with my toddler and 10 year old. The toddler area was "closed"- just guessing that because there was no signage. The area had cleaning supplies in it, the activities were clustered together in a circle in the middle and the bounce house was deflated. Even though we paid for my toddler, there was nothing for him to do except a few rides. Powerplay was poorly staffed- you have to find someone to do anything. And the whole place is dirty and disheveled. Not impressed. We left after an hour. read more

As other reviewers have mentioned, more than enough employees on staff at all times yet no one around to run the rides, fix game malfunctions or even open the concessions. The place seems to always have a layer of grime on every surface. The prize area is severely underwhelming and understocked. We will return to use the remaining points on our cards and that will be the last time. We had a good time. My positive observations were the place was clean, it just opened it better be clean. The staff were friendly. Although we did not eat there, the food seemed reasonably priced. It is really cool for kids to have fun indoor rides like a mini roller coaster, tilt-a-whirl, carousel, kiddie train, bumper cars and ferris wheel. My negative observations were that there were no signs for the bathrooms which is important when you have a three year old. The go-karts were not ready. At lest one game did not function properly and when we informed someone they did not offer us a credit. At Chuck E Cheese they just hand you a few tokens and don't even ask. We were not offered the VIP option when we bought our card. Lastly they were going to charge us to stand next to our three year old on the carousel. Really? Anywhere else we go, ie. the ZOO, does not charge extra if your kid needs adult assistance on a ride they can ride. The points system is a little wonky. For example they might charge 12.4 points instead of just 12 or 13 points for a game or attraction. We will probably go back but we are not in a hurry. read more

Gosh, I really wanted to like this PowerPlay. Really I did. I mean I love the Shawnee location and maybe if I had been here first, I would have rated this one better but alas I did not so... This one does (or will have one day) a few different options. It looks like it will have sand volleyball and zip lining but those options aren't available yet. It does have a little roller coaster that the Shawnee location does not have. That gets bonus points. Let's get to what I do like. It runs the same or similar specials that the other location does so there are various options to take advantage of such as we went for the Tuesday $10 special in December that allowed for an hr or play and the buffet. This one has an snack bar of sorts which allows you to buy some items (like funnel cakes and pretzels) without investing in the buffet. That may work for the parent who is just hanging out and waiting for a kid to get finished. My experiences with the workers were all good. They are young but they seemed genuinely pleasant. I liked that there are some old school arcade games there like BurgerTime and Pac Man Jr or Donkey Kong Jr and Mario Bros. I also liked how they had the Tilt A Whirl enclosed off to itself instead of out in the middle of the floor like the Shawnee location. Okay so what I didn't like is it reminds me of a shadow of the Shawnee location. It seems noticeably smaller which still could be okay but it doesn't differentiate itself enough from the other location to make you forgive the size. Part of the space is taken up by the snack bar area and as much as I love funnel cakes, I don't think that is reason enough for the lack of entertainment. The bowling was a blah area, not real bowling but like a Skee Ballish version of bowling. A lady even mentioned in passing that it looked much different online. There aren't as many arcade games per se. The games are kind of stacked in the same terminal. For example, BurgerTime and Pac Man Jr are in the same console so if you're a selfish jerk like I can be and you want to play the same games, you'll isolate a terminal (like I did with this one and the one that carried Donkey Kong, DK Jr and Mario) without concerns about fellow people that may want to play. If the games were separated out into different terminals, more people could enjoy them at the same time. As for the buffet, yeah I know it's a buffet so you don't expect greatness but I do expect approximately the same amount of food offered at both locations. This location lacked the variety that the other did. My son had the sads when he went through the line here. Overall, even when they get the additional options, I don't think we'll be back. We'll stick with the parent location. This is cool if you live up north but nothing to write home about. read more

Went here last weekend for a kid's birthday party and was NOT impressed. The ride operators didn't seem concerned about proper safety, my kid ended up with his seat belt wrapped around his neck instead of his lap on bumper cars (!) I'm GLAD he didn't want to ride the (sketchy!) roller coaster. They also did laser tag, and it was near impossible to get the kids into the gear in the pitch black staging area. The 'party' room was so tiny, it was basically a glorified closet. I had a pretzel and it was cold and hard. Looked like the concession stand was well stoked with booze, so I guess if you're looking to get wasted, there's that. Also some of the arcade games were from the 90s, so that was kinda nostalgic. Been here twice now for birthday parties. First time, school day, early dismissal, not crowded...I think we were the only group there...perfect time. Second time, weekend birthday, evening, everyone in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods within a 19-mile radius was there. Holy crud. Crowded. Came in and paid for zip line and go carts plus games which go on separate cards that look the exact same. Got them mixed up and supposedly got it fixed finish the zip line and tried to used the other card and it had zero on it. The costumer service was very disrespectful considering I am an assistant manager in costumer service I know what good service is and this place wasn't it expect the guy at the go carts named Aaron. I shouldn't have to get the cards fixed again when I didn't get them mixed up. I spent $50 and couldn't even play the games. read more

Tried to take advantage of the $25 (3)hours of play deal today from 11am-2pm. So, here is what we experienced: 1. Laser tag room was shut down the entire time 2. The laser maze did not work - no lasers? 3. They were understaffed and had to "rotate" workers around the different attractions and we had to wait multiple times for a staff to come over and start the roller coaster, bumper cars, etc 4. tilt a whirl was closed for the first hour we were there. 5. Their buffet is horrid. Brown lettuce, cold pasta, flat soda, dirty tables (had been wiped as you could see the dirty swipes but crumbs still existed), and salty pizza. My son did have fun, but I will do everything to keep him from wanting to go back. read more

My wife and I go here for the buffet. For the most part the food is good. The pizza is always kinda old and not very good but the fried chicken is usually really really good. I'd say the last 3 out of 5 visits the chicken was awesome. Some times it's old and not fresh at all. Their bread rolls are always amazing. I would suggest you get there early when the food is fresh. We booked our child's birthday party at PowerPlay - North with Cierra. She was terribly slow to reply to our emails - if she replied at all. We were the ones who made the follow-up calls prior to the party to make sure everything was in order. The party room was the size of a closet so we had to pay an upgrade fee just to accommodate 15 guests. The party rooms are away from the games, so this made it impossible for guests (grandparents, adults, etc) who may have wanted to wait and watch the kids play from the party room. We pre-ordered over-priced latex balloon bouquets with specific balloon color requests. Minutes before the party started, the staff had not even began to blow up the balloon bouquets. They did not even attempt to include the requested colored balloons - and were very apathetic about the fact that they did not even have the requested balloon colors in stock! This did not stop them from still charging us full price for the late delivered balloon bouquets that were not even the colors we requested. There is literally a glaring time clock in the party room, counting down the minutes you have left until, undoubtedly, they will charge you more for staying there longer. Like a bomb getting ready to explode. Very tacky. We paid $5 extra for each guest to have extra tokens on their PowerPlay card. PowerPlay charged us twice for the add-on. When I finally got the Manager on duty to understand what was happening, he removed the double charge ... which deactivated ALL of the guests' PowerPlay cards. This took at least 20 minutes to correct as he had to fix each card one at a time. After all of the birthday guests had left, WE had to remind our party host that our child was supposed to be able to step into the "ticket vault" and be able to catch tickets flying around in the air. This experience was not nearly as fun as it should have been if the party a guests were still around to watch. Once the party was over, our host packaged up our left-over pizza and offered to store the ice cream (that we purchased) in their freezer for the remainder of the party. Less than 30 minutes later, when we were settling up our expensive party bill, we went to the front desk to ask for our pizzas and ice cream. The front desk attendant literally had NO CLUE what we were asking for. I am not even sure the front desk attendant knew PowerPlay had party rooms. It literally took 3 employees and yet another manager to even figure out what we were asking for! Our party host was long gone and this manager was very defensive of his clueless employees -- and less than helpful in retrieving our ice cream and pizza. They "searched the freezer over" -- but we never saw our ice cream again. They did compensate us by make one fresh pizza. This was the worst, most stressful birthday party experience ever, Between the terrible pre-party communications to the on-going fiascos of the party itself, I would NEVER recommend anyone book their child's birthday party with PowerPlay. The irony of this entire experience was, we finally received our first unprompted phone call from Cierra a few days after the birthday party ........... when she called begging us to leave a favorable review for our PowerPlay birthday party experience. read more
