Visited Worlds of Fun recently and honestly had a pretty good time. Is it a perfect park? No. But…read moreif you go in with the right expectations, there's still a lot of fun to be had. The highlights for me were definitely Mamba and Prowler. Mamba still delivers that classic airtime and speed, and Prowler was way more intense than I expected. We also spent some time walking around the park and it brought back a lot of nostalgia. There were families everywhere, people enjoying the shows, and the overall atmosphere felt very "summer in Kansas City." One thing I noticed is that ride operations seem to be hit-or-miss depending on the day. A few attractions were temporarily down while we were there, which was frustrating, but thankfully most of the major rides reopened later. If you've ever been to a regional amusement park, you kind of know that's part of the experience. The staff we interacted with were friendly, especially the ride operators who kept the lines moving. Speaking of lines, they weren't nearly as bad as I expected. We managed to get several rides in without spending our entire day waiting. Food is amusement park food--nothing life-changing--but it got the job done. I'd spend my money on rides before snacks. Overall, Worlds of Fun feels like a park that's somewhere between old-school charm and modern thrills. It's not the biggest or flashiest amusement park out there, but there's enough here for a fun day with friends or family. I'd come back, especially for another ride on Mamba.

This PowerPlay experience was utterly unacceptable…read more 1. I entered with my grandchildren, and the Assistant Manager along with another associate simply chatted among themselves while I stood visibly waiting for assistance. Let's just say I corrected them quickly on this unprofessional misstep. 2. Numerous machines were out of service, yet they continued deducting points without providing any of the promised services. I had to personally keep returning to the front desk, which took away from the experience. 3. Every employee except the young lady at the front desk was engrossed in their cellphones. 4. I had to search repeatedly for staff to operate the rides so my grandchildren could enjoy what was available, as stations remained unmanned. 5. Staff members were eating at the front desk openly, with the Assistant Manager bringing food to one employee while I was trying to have points put back on the card yet again from another game not working. 6. The ticket redemption station was closed/locked. I had to return to the front desk again to find the young man who should have been back there standing at the front desk eating. He casually said he was "trying to eat" when I inquired about exchanging tickets for prizes. This entire experience was beyond disappointing--and there are no valid excuses. Numerous establishments take your money without delivering quality service. This is one of those places. We wasted far too much time attempting to spend $100 worth of tokens, and we will absolutely not return.

The Kings course looked fun and had a lot of obstacles that the kids loved. However, we had to go around a lot of torn up carpet and put the tees back together. There was someone coming behind us to blow the leaves off the course, so that was a good sign. It wasn't a bad price and it's more nostalgic for me, so I'm sure we will be back. The arcade did look nice and most things looked like they were working.

We WERE able to play, and the staff was aware enough of the issues with the course that they didn't argue about giving the new balls to us and gave us the earned free game coupon that the machine didn't spit out when it should have, so that is why I left it at 2. See full review below. We used to come here all the time when I was a kid. They have a game room inside and 4 mini-golf courses outside. I recently went here on a girl's day outing with some friends and, while we had fun, the place is really run down. Many of the holes are damaged. Examples: the "starting pad" on several was completely detached, water not on in the fountains, outdoor carpeting making up the "green" was wrinkled or sliced, various themed elements on the holes were rusty, many elements in the holes were blocked forcing us to go all the way back to the front desk inside the building and ask for new balls, the hole in one machine at the end of the course (where you hit the ball once and if it goes in the hole the machine gives you a ticket for a free game) didn't work, etc. Inside, the game roomed smelled of marijuana and several machines (including the one that turns your cash into coins) were not working. I was very disappointed with the condition of the place, both inside and out.

We got through all the lines in less than the 3 hours and went to have lunch afterwards at a decent time. Only thing I'd change is renting the GoPro, our phones were just as good. WARNING: Do NOT waste your money here -- this business is a total scam!…read more I bought Groupon vouchers last winter for a specific family outing, only to discover later that the business was completely unresponsive. No one answered the phone, their website showed no available dates, and out of frustration I even drove an hour to their location--only to find nothing happening. A month later, I received an email stating they were "closed for the winter." Nowhere -- not on the Groupon listing, their website, or their voicemail -- did they mention being seasonal. When I tried to use my vouchers later, they refused to honor them. Even worse, the operators openly admitted that they continue to sell Groupon vouchers during the winter to "boost sales," fully knowing they're closed and that customers can't use them. That's deceptive and unethical. Bottom line: This company hides behind Groupon to take your money and then refuses to stand behind their product. Avoid them entirely -- don't fall into the same trap I did!
