I was expecting American fare food (like American diner food you know what I mean) and was thrown off by all the Mexican food options in the menu. My kids had pancakes and they were good. Seems they may have changed management so the menu was sorta all over the place. Interior needs to be updated, to make it feel cleaner inside. I had chicken Chilaquiles. Though since that was what was all over the specials board and added to the menu it would be a safer bet. It was good but not great. Needed more toppings and sauce for sure. Maybe I should have gotten something else. Would I try this place again, probably not. Service was fast and simple. So not complaints there read more

This is a gem for breakfast lovers!! Food is usually fresh, fast, and perfectly plated (look at my pics)! They say you eat with your eyes most of the time, which is true here. The service is top notch. The servers are attentive, and friendly. I've even met the owner a couple of times - down to earth and a great guy. The ambiance is definitely nostalgic. It has that classic diner charm, with aromas of sizzling bacon and fresh brewed coffee. Overall this is my fave breakfast and brunch spot. Was staying at a nearby hotel and called for takeout. Ordered online , got the reuben that comes with fries and the soup of the day. Also asked for extra thousand island dressing. Got to restuant and order was ready. Peeked in bag to make sure all was there. Got back to hotel. Reuban and fries were hit. Disappointed that there was no thousand island at all. Fortunately the sandwich had enough saurkraut and cheese that it was moist and tasty. The surprise was the soup. I thought it was tomato, of maybe a chicken bisque at first. Went for breakfast this morning. I was really looking forward to it as it's been great all the other times. I ordered one of the specials that is on the small placard at each table. It was two eggs, two sausage links, hashbrowns and toast. It also included coffee. The sausage was room temperature as was the hashbrowns. The place wasn't busy and the servers were just standing by the kitchen talking to each other. If we didn't have somewhere to be, I would have sent it back. I'm one though that is usually hesitant to send anything back to a kitchen. read more

A classic converted Big Boy. Got in after closing last night and was going to Uber elsewhere. Fella came out and asked us if we were OK and told him we drove truck and just got in late. He got us a couple of bowls of chicken and rice with a bunch of rolls and wouldn't take our money. Great dinner vibe with a very usa theme. This is a Greek spot with an nyc vibe. The restaurant is large so there's plenty of space and parking (although the location is kinda sketch). The coffee was very watery but the rest of the food was delicious. I had one of the over 100 options available (French toast, bacon, and eggs). The omelette was good too. It's a local joint so my family new the server. She was friendly, even though she was unable to redo the awful coffee. The prices were a bit much BUT the portions were humongous so that was good. The Liberty Diner is a well known place to eat in Fort Wayne. In its current location for at least 20 years it is a great place for breakfast but is open for lunch and dinner as well! We stopped for brunch today and I got an excellent bagel and lox with cream cheese, tomato, cucumbers and capers! My wife gobbled up a couple of eggs, sausage, and hash browns. My grand daughter ordered cream cheese filled crepes topped with fresh strawberries. The service was super and everyone seemed happy with their food and everything was clean and well appointed. OMG the people here are so kind and patient. Holly is amazing- I wish everyone was so patient and understand as she is. I have a hard time with choices and she helped me. I don't like confrontation so I wasn't going to say I didn't fully enjoy the lasagna but she asked and I felt bad saying so but she put me at ease thank you Holly. To be clear all the components were delish. Truly the best wish fry I have ever tried. I highly recommend it. Here is another Fort Wayne icon that is a must try. This restaurant has been on the corner of Coliseum and US 33 for as along as I can remember. The facility is dated and might deter you. However, the nostalgia, food and service is worth the stop. As mentioned the interior is dated but well maintained. They have al sorts of interesting Statue of Liberty and NY decor inside. The facility is very large despite how the parking lot might look. They fit a lot of people in for breakfast even with social distancing. The host was friendly and very efficient. Our waitress Sherry was outstanding. She hustles, is very friendly and kept the refills coming in a timely manner. For breakfast I had the corned beef hash and eggs. This was the best corned beef hash I think I've had when dining out. The hash was nicely cooked without being burnt or dried out. It was moist and had crisp edges. The eggs were as you'd expect. The home style fries were plentiful - nothing to remarkable. They do have hot sauce to spice them up. I ordered two pancakes instead of the toast. The pancakes were large and very tasty. Slightly buttery with plenty of syrup. My wife had the sour bread toast and said it was excellent just like her omelette. Looking for an alternative breakfast place...give this one a try. read more

I've been here a hand full of time and have not really found anything that good. The menu is has a lot of verity but can be a little overwhelming when trying to narrow down what they are good at. We were just passing through Fort Wayne and stopped here for dinner on a weeknight. The ambience was a pleasant diner experience, with a friendly greeting and comfortable seating. Now, for the menu. An amazing variety of Greek food, Mexican food, American fare, burgers, blue plate specials, breakfast specialties, sandwiches, soups, and all kinds of tempting entrees. Turkey being one of my favorite foods, I ordered the hot turkey manhattan (they roast their own turkey in house) and it was FABULOUS. Nestled among strip clubs, hotels, and a few other restaurants is the Liberty Diner. The interior is a bit beat up (vinyl seats, some with large tears in the vinyl) and it looks like its prime was 20 years ago. They still put together good food. The back room was a Smoking Lounge but I believe it is now a smoke free facility. I started with the Cream of Broccoli soup and found it very good. There was a great creaminess and the soup was well seasoned. For my meal I had their whitefish fried with fries. The fries were really good and so was the fish. Our waitress was attentive and we appreciated the care received. Perhaps you wonder at the 3-star rating? The food is 4-star but the interior 2-star. If I could give 3.5-stars that would nail it. The baked French Onion soup went from a 5 star to a 2 star with the new owner, it comes out with almost raw cheese now no browning at all some times. Came with a large piece of fried fish in between two pieces of dry hard bread, coleslaw, & fries. This is a very good price for the amount of food you get. The fried fish is tasty. The other two ordered the fish plate which came with three pieces of fried fish, tarter sauce, & coleslaw. All our meals came with choice of soup of the day. Apu on my truck needed to be fixed so ended up at the pilot across the street for the weekend. Decided to walk over to this diner since the diner at the pilot closes on the weekends at 3. So happy we walked over, they have a huge menu, we had the lamb chops and moussaka with baked French onion soup and I think it was called lemon chicken rice soup? for dinner on Saturday and on Sunday we had the souvlaki and the gyro omelette with home fries, potato pancake and vegetable beef soup (awesome soup btw). It was all delicious and cooked perfectly. Inside was clean and decorated nicely. Started off promising but went downhill from there. Both meals started with salads. Nice size and decent quality. Odd, though, that the man's salad was iceberg and the woman's was spring mix. Both also had different veggies. Food arrived quickly, maybe a little too quickly. Vegetable for both entrees was a single piece of broccoli. Mahi mahi was overcooked a bit. Obviously not cooked fresh when ordered. Asked for lemon pepper seasoning and mashed potatoes. Got a lemon wedge and rice instead. Steak was cooked very well done for the thin piece of meat. Mashed potatoes were a molded scoop and were not warm. The waitress was good and did check on us. However I do blame her for the bread. The two rolls were basically rock hard. One crumbled when broken in 2. The other was slightly better but still awful. Worst part was the serving container. It included butter, the 2 unwrapped rolls and saltine crackers. It also included an open, empty saltine wrapper from a prior customer. Not hygienic at all. Glad both rolls were awful and we did not eat either of them. Hostess tried to give my card to another customer while checking out. We both wish we had taken more time to look for a restaurant but after traveling all day, we needed something quick and convenient. read more
