Came here on a random Monday morning because in downtown Fort Wayne there is literally nothing open for breakfast. So needless to say, this was not the first choice however, this was an amazing great surprise find !!! When you walk in it is so super tiny and so old-school retro. It is fantastic. The decor is utterly random with the funniest sayings on the walls. The menu is pretty succinct and direct and simple, which is exactly what you expect from this type of place. When the food came out, super quick very hot, it was very generous in portions, considering the prices this place has not from what I can tell from the prices been impacted by inflation . The three ladies working here were super nice and friendly, very patient and hospitable. I would definitely come back here again if I'm in downtown Fort Wayne because this is a true stand out.

I walked here from the Hilton hotel which isn't far from this particular place. I ended up ordering three pancakes with scrambled eggs. The pancakes were huge and very good and the scrambled eggs were pretty good also. This seems to be the type of place where the staff knows just about everyone that eats their. The morning I went I seem to have been the only person that the staff did not know. They were very friendly and helpful and the prices were pretty decent. Much better than paying $18 at the hotel. Most definitely a diner ambiance.

Garbage (I swear that's the name of the menu item!)

Teeny, tiny diner, with just 15 seats. It was my first time here, and I'll definitely be back if business takes me back to Fort Wayne. Though we certainly weren't locals, we were treated like locals. Fantastic food, plus conversation with virtually all the staff and most of the other diners. I ordered Garbage (this amazing combination of scrambled eggs, onions, ham, and a giant handful of cheddar). It was massive. Next time, I'll try to remember that I can get a 1/2 Garbage.

    Good people. Friendly place!

Iconic Fort Wayne building, food, atmosphere and location. Servers are prompt, energetic and witty. Expect comfort food cuisine and conversation with those around you after all the place seats 15. It's a big menu and generous portions with reasonable prices; 1/2 servings are possible. The location on Berry @ Maiden Lane offers outdoor seating, street parking for cars or bikes. It's going to be between Parkview Field and the upcoming River Front development projects. If you haven't been for awhile, it's time to stop in at Cindy's across from Ruth Crist Steakhouse another famous name.

Great food, fast service, and I loved how everyone was sitting so close and it was all so compact! Love the 50s aesthetic.

Great breakfast food and an amazing price. The donuts were delicious too! A must go to when I'm in town.

Nice little place outside Ft Wayne. Stopped on our way to…read moreDetroit. Seated ourselves. Someone came by fast for drink orders. We ordered the battered tenderloin and Italian beef. Have not seen the fried pork tenderloin (Hoosier staple) offered as Battered before so I ad to try it. Delicious! Italian beef was also good with a nice au jus. My husband has potato soup also and loved it.

I'm really disappointed with my experience at Nine Mile. I ordered the 3-piece fish with coleslaw…read moreand onion rings, and unfortunately the food was not enjoyable at all. The fish was extremely greasy -- to the point that it was basically inedible and honestly made me feel sick to my stomach afterward. The onion rings were just okay and nothing special. The coleslaw was also concerning because it came out room temperature. It seemed like the merchandiser doors where it's stored may not have been fully closed, which definitely didn't inspire confidence in the food handling. The most unfortunate part of the visit was that our waitress, Marilyn, appeared completely run ragged. Because of that, we didn't really receive attentive service -- though it was hard to tell whether she was overwhelmed or just not very friendly. Either way, it didn't add to the experience. The seating arrangements in the bar area is family style, if you're not keen on sitting elbow to elbow with complete strangers, this probably isn't the dining room option for you. Overall, I won't be returning.
