Came here on a random Monday morning because in downtown Fort Wayne there is literally nothing open for breakfast. So needless to say, this was not the first choice however, this was an amazing great surprise find !!! When you walk in it is so super tiny and so old-school retro. It is fantastic. The decor is utterly random with the funniest sayings on the walls. The menu is pretty succinct and direct and simple, which is exactly what you expect from this type of place. When the food came out, super quick very hot, it was very generous in portions, considering the prices this place has not from what I can tell from the prices been impacted by inflation . The three ladies working here were super nice and friendly, very patient and hospitable. I would definitely come back here again if I'm in downtown Fort Wayne because this is a true stand out. read more

If you want to have a conversation, this is the place to be. If you want croissant and soufflé and avocado toast and a Cortado, this is not your place. Old-school coffee. Old-school fried eggs. If that's what you want, this is bloody perfect. It's also ridiculously inexpensive. Pretty quick service. They get your order right. I called ahead for what I wanted. The place is quite small but very clean. The staff were very sweet and helpful. The food was made to order and good. I brought it back to my hotel to eat as I was on a time crunch. They amount was plentiful and the prices are extremely reasonable. I walked here from the Hilton hotel which isn't far from this particular place. I ended up ordering three pancakes with scrambled eggs. The pancakes were huge and very good and the scrambled eggs were pretty good also. This seems to be the type of place where the staff knows just about everyone that eats their. The morning I went I seem to have been the only person that the staff did not know. They were very friendly and helpful and the prices were pretty decent. Much better than paying $18 at the hotel. Teeny, tiny diner, with just 15 seats. It was my first time here, and I'll definitely be back if business takes me back to Fort Wayne. Though we certainly weren't locals, we were treated like locals. Fantastic food, plus conversation with virtually all the staff and most of the other diners. I ordered Garbage (this amazing combination of scrambled eggs, onions, ham, and a giant handful of cheddar). It was massive. Next time, I'll try to remember that I can get a 1/2 Garbage. read more

First time at this diner and it was a great experience! Staff was super friendly and abiding to covid guidelines (masks over nose & mouth, wearing gloves and keeping things clean) which I appreciate! Not much seating and it's a smaller building inside but that's what makes this spot so unique! Coffee was good, food came out fairly quick and prices for portions were perfect! My boyfriend got the garbage and he said it was amazing! I ordered the #3 (don't remember the name of it) and the French toast was soo yummy, eggs were fluffy and i added cheese for .50 cents, bacon was crispy & had cinnamon on it! Good grub at Cindy's Diner up off Berry Street downtown. Prime location, parking can get complicated, but it's a hot little spot downtown. Food is pretty good. I like the garbage plate. Good donuts, coffee, orange juice, eggs n bacon, toast, you name it they got it. Good oatmeal, moosh, pancakes. Old school place and the guy here will cook you a good old school breakfast, he's good with the flipper and knows how much butter to add, guy is a regular 1950s Breakfast Diner cook. This is an iconic place in Fort Wayne that you must try once. The dinner has that old time feel. There are only 15 stools there and you get cozy with those around you. The nostalgia is the highlight of the experience. You might have to wait a while to get in. There is no waiting inside since all they can accommodate is counter seating. Waiting outside in the cold could be an issue. Our only trip was for breakfast. The breakfast was normal like most you would get any where else. The menu was fairly basic but broad enough. It took a while for the server to take our order since it was a "full house" while we were there. It took a while to get the food since there is one cook. Though...you can watch the cook and dish washer process your meal. My wife and I had eggs, bacon, toast. I also had the sausage gravy and biscuits. The eggs were prepared well, the bacon was done just right, and the toast was a grade above slightly toasted. All done as you would expect. The gravy was not so good. It was later in the morning so it is possible I got the bottom of the pot. The gravy was too thick, dark in color, and over done with pepper. Give this place a try. It's a FW must. They have lunch...which I haven't tried. read more

So. I do have to say this off the bat: if you're a person on the larger side (and I am), Cindy's Diner is not comfy. The stools are uber close to the counter and also close together so wedging in can be a little awkward + uncomfortable once you are seated. The food was pretty okay, though not so good that I would return in spite of what I just said about the comfort. They burn the bacon (I cannot abide burnt bacon so that was a bummer). I had the pleasure of having a Cindy's Diner garbage plate for breakfast. Before you let the name deter you, let me assure you it was nothing short of delicious. The garbage plate is a great mix of eggs, onion, potatoes, cheese, bacon and or ham all mixed together to marry each flavor in a union made for palate heaven. No particular flavor outweighs another, they all perfectly complement each other to make each bit as good as the last. You have a choice of toast or pancakes. I'm sure you thought the carb lover in me choose pancakes, nope, wheat toast was my choice that day. I'm more of a white bread person, but I tried wheat. It was ok, a little to much butter to my personal liking, but crisp and tasty nonetheless. This diner is a FortWayne mainstay. It's been around for years and consistently offers a great breakfast menu. I didn't hesitate to give 4 stars, it was great and I know I'll be back. read more
