Another relaxing time on the patio at Charlie's. Our server was excellent. She was professional and friendly. She was timely with the refills and checking on us. The cinnamon roll is outstanding. Made fresh that day. We had this as a dessert. It was slightly warm and packed with delicious cinnamon! The roll was soft on the inside and a bit firmer on the outside. There was plenty of sugary icing - but not over the top sweet. We also had a Cobb salad and avocado toast entree. Both were very fresh and tasty. The grilled chicken on the Cobb salad was a bit dry. It was nicely grilled and slightly seasoned with a southwestern flavor.

A time was had! What a charming, quaint, spacious spot this is. The decor was minimal, but totally fit the aesthetic. I sat in the expansive patio area. There was ample seating and space between tables. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and detailed with explanations. She was honest regarding menu items she has yet to try, everyone's food and drink was exactly as ordered . The food was good. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which were excellent and the mango salsa was a bright addition with a crisp sweet flavor. My sons had the brisket grilled cheese with fries, I had a taste and it too was packed with flavor, my other son had the buffalo chicken loaded tator tots, you can never go wrong there. I love that I ended the month of May at such a nice location with good food, service, and company.

I've visited Charlie's Place on a numerous occasions. The breakfast/ brunch is great, the dinner not so much. The avocado toast during brunch is amazing! The salmon with the broccoli and Spanish rice is mediocre. The salmon is overcooked and the Spanish rice and broccoli lacks flavor. They have a great selection of drinks which was a plus. The most recent time I came, the service was very slow. The inside wasn't packed, maybe 3-4 tables, the outside was pretty steady but the service was slow. Our waitress was okay - she could have been more attentive in my personal opinion. Overall, I'd still come back for the avocado toast alone!

What a fantastic place! Not only is there a classy indoor dining room that feels like an upscale lounge, there's a tropical feeling patio and a covered patio with a bar halfway between both. The food and drink are delicious, the staff is kind and thoughtful (someone even went and turned on the Champions League Final on the tv we were closest to) AND dogs are permitted on the patio. We are from out of town and boy did we luck into the best experience. Brunch menu is delicious. Portion sizes are huge. Everything was great.

We love Charlie's Place. There are great drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic, the food is tasty, and the vibes are on. Its a great place for brunch, date night, or a night out with friends. The servers were very nice and attentive.

The "Masterpiece" of a Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned made with Buffalo Trace, very top notch mix (w/crystal clear Ice Cube)!

Looking for a good Happy Hour spot while in Ft. Wayne Indiana working for a few days. I decided on Charlie's Place on a Thursday (while they pour all their cocktails for Half Price) after seeing on Yelp! I had already eaten and was staying in the area so I stopped in around 6:00 p.m. and sat at the nearly empty (large) bar. The bar was empty because the outdoor patio seating, large tables and seating for larger groups was filling up fast, a very popular place it seems. The bartender (Anna?) was very attentive even considering she was pouring and shaking drinks non stop for the nearly two hours while I was there. I chose the Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned and at $7.00, this was one of the better versions of the classic that I have tasted, every detail was nailed down to the large clear cube of ice, orange zest and luxardo cherry. Once I had time to take in that Old Fashioned, I tried the Moscow Mule and this was a very refreshing finish to the long day, so much so that I ordered a second Mule before leaving. I did not eat while on this visit as I had eaten just before stopping to try Charlie's. I did see very good looking dishes being served, I look forward to enjoying dinner AND drinks on my next visit, this was a very enjoyable experience regardless!

Run don't walk to Charlie's Place on N Wells Street. Excellent food & drinks with friendly staff, cool vibes and dog friendly, too. Huge patio with covered and un-covered seating. Nice bar and contemporary indoor seating with billiards. Great for groups and for intimate date nights. Bring your dog, they even offer a gratis simple cooked chicken treat for canine patrons!! Short walk from pet-friendly TownePlace Suites, a pet friendly hotel. Highly, highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Charlie’s Place

Is flashback live 21+ or 18+?

I have only been there for a private event, but given it hosts live music and offers drink specials I would assume it's 21 and over. Neither their social media presence nor their website indicates for sure though.

Spoke + Ivy (west Main Street, FW) - another locally unique dinning experience that deserves a try…read more Spoke + Ivy is located on west Main Street - across the parking lot from Redwood Inn restaurant, if that helps. This restaurant is set in an old building that used to house a pharmacy. It retains the character of the building via the hardwood interiors, tall ceilings, large window views of the street and concrete/industrial ceilings. The interior is nicely decorated with inviting green, brown wood and black accent colors. Table settings were very attractive as well. You can park in the small side lot or on the street. Reservations are easily made on line. The team is very friendly and welcoming. All set the stage for a fun and relaxing dinner experience. Spoke + Ivy has a very small food and specialty cocktail menu. This is the second time we have been here. Each time we found the food to be delicious and the cocktails are uniquely designed. Here is a run down on the food items we ordered: -Focaccia Bread: a mildly sweet, dense/firm bread, slightly airy with a touch of herbs to accent. It is cut into blocks so it is easier to share. The vodka sauce is thin in consistency with a smooth Italian seasoned tomato appeal. Both make for a deliciously simple starter. -Lobster Roll Rangoon: decided to give this a try. It comes out as one large Rangoon - not individual pieces. This means that you must awkwardly cut this shareable into pieces. The slightly crispy & oily wrapper is similar to most crab Rangoon pieces. It has a nice crisp. The inside has shredded pieces of lobster. It was not filled with creme cheese sauce like traditional rangoons - just plain. The green lemon parsley sauce was simply outstanding! It's very fresh, moderately thick and has a slightly tart taste. This added "the sauce" to what the inside of the Rangoon was lacking. -Milanese: nicely breaded chicken that was very moist. The breading is slightly sweet. The fresh bed of arugula salad is a nice add -Prime Rib Pho: this sounded really interesting. It's a smaller/healthier dish. The medium rare prime rib was sliced thin and tender. There wasn't many pieces of prime rib in this dish. The add-ins were fresh and much like you would expect from a Pho dish - just not as much volume. The broth has a chili oil base that gives it a spicier flavor. Overall we really enjoy this relaxed atmosphere and character of the building. The delicious food and cocktails are excellent.

We were seated in a very awkward corner table for two where the tables were really close together. Since it was our Valentine's celebration, I would have been uncomfortable with the tables next to us having people at them because it didn't give you any privacy or space for private conversation. We did not get drinks or appetizers. Our meals were very good (salmon and chicken). The server was good but didn't refill my water and that' a big deal to me. Also, it's supposed to be an upscale place and they were out of paper towels in the bathroom. I feel like that is just basic service they should check on regularly.
