As a member of this excellent Gun Range/Shop for over three years now I have gotten to know the majority of the staff from the front desk, sales floor and the RSOs, I have nothing but high praise for their excellent service, advise and friendship. All of the ranges are kept in excellent working condition 2 x 25 yds, 1 x 50yds & 1 x 100 yds, Bopper (Steel plates) and an interactive (Simulation Range). The RSOs are friendly but firm on the rules, as it should be. The sales folk will always be happy to sell you a new, new-to-you firearm or Order it if they don't have it on hand. If you need to try a firearm out before purchasing, you can always Rent one from their catalog of available firearms. If you need Training, they have in-house trainers via the Makhaira Group and classrooms on-site. read more

Found a smoking deal on a Ruger Precision Rifle for $499 in 6.5 CM. It used to be their range rental which baffled me. When I asked why they would have that at an indoor range the employee said they had a 100 yard range. He said it was "really old" despite the brand new stock. It looked in 8/10 exterior condition to be honest. I asked if he had an idea how many rounds had been shot out of it, he said probably between 50-100k. Math wasn't mathing, I thought to myself who goes to an indoor range to shoot a bolt rifle at $2/Round - not many people. Couldn't dissuade me I told him I'd take it. Came back 3 days later to pick it up and mentioned the previous interaction to a new employee after he himself was amazed at the deal and he chuckled when I said I thought the previous employee was just trying to talk people out of it till his next paycheck hit and mentioned employees have a 2 week wait till their can buy any guns on the wall. Anyways, smoking deal on the RPR. Worried about the barrel being shot out I scoped it with a borescope and it looks amazing. Once in a lifetime deal. Been here a couple of times before and they honored their pricing on .243 as the shelf read $6-8 less than what it range up as. Overall huge store, decent collection of guns not as many as I'd think they would have considering the amount of cases they have. Over nice clean store, could use some more employees behind the counter as there's probably 5x that through the campus. read more

Purchased an optic here. Never used it, brought it back to be told that all sales are final and that it's on the receipt...They do realize that you don't see the receipt until after purchase right? The lady at the front was insanely rude and brought a manager over who wouldn't say a single word to me then mean mugged me under the brim of his hat. This was first time at an indoor range. Lots and lots of rules involved. 1. If you are over 18 you will need to do a one time background check to be able to shoot. The cost of this is $10. At least as of May 2023. 2. Be sure to have all your guns totally in cases or you will not be able to enter the building. 3. Close toed shoes are a must. 4. Be sure to print out the waiver/non member form prior to arriving if you are not a member. We had that done and our check in process was still pretty lengthy. 5. first time in you will also have to watch a safety video. 6. Cost is $30 for an hour for a single, $45 for a double, $60 for a triple. 7. Eye and ear protection is available to borrow if you dont have your own. 8. There is a shop downstairs which is handy. 9. The range is downstairs from the check in. The RSO feels like they are right behind you. Though our RSO was helpful and friendly, it was a little nerve wracking. 10. They have their targets on a computer so you can choose how far you want to shoot. 11. Be sure to bring your own targets or purchase some in the shop before you come into the range..... Stood at the rifle counter while three employees made zero attempt to acknowledge me. So I did what anyway be trying to make a purchase would do, I walked right to the counter and stared at two employees, again zero acknowledgement. So I made sure to look at them for several minutes to make eye contact , again no acknowledgment . I walked even closer , bingo they looked at me but not a word. Crazy to think I came in to spend a few thousand dollars on a rifle, yet couldn't get anyone to say " hey, how can we help", or better yet" I'll be right with you after we're done talking about cops as one of the guys was bullshitting with a customer who didn't buy anything . We've been to the range here prior with a friend and it was great, so I came back to buy a new rifle and get the wife and I the member ship. Nope I will give a different establishment a few thousand dollars , thanks LFI. I guess my attire or way I looked helped you decide I wasn't a worthy customer. He took the time to walk us around the entire facility and what an extraordinary establishment he has here in Johnstown! My husband and I shopped around the store. You can spend hours alone in this portion of the facility! They have everything from clothes, cups, ammo, firearms, accessories and more! For your convenience, they also provide an on-site gun shop and gun smith! The gun range is in the basement and has top notch technology at your fingertips. Wow! What an amazing facility and staff. The facility itself is immaculate -- even though it's six years old it looks like it is brand new. There's obviously a lot of care and pride put into the facility. The staff is even more amazing. Courteous, helpful, and very positive -- everyone from the front desk, to range personnel to the gun store staff members are true professionals. We went into Liberty yesterday while we were on our way to Scheels. Holy cow this building is awesome and like nothing I've seen. Everyone working there was super cool and greeted us when we walked inside. They have a decent selection of whatever kind of firearm or ammunition you're looking for. They have new, used, and consigned firearms and you can definitely find something in your budget. I spoke with Russ who was so great. I am a beginner shooter and am in the market for a handgun. Russ spent at least an hour with myself and my boyfriend showing us all the guns we wanted to see and things he thought we would like or should feel. He gave me really valuable advice and tips for me to take with me outside of the store no matter what firearm I decide to pick up. My confidence with handguns is significantly higher than it was when I went in. This place is great. read more

I used Liberty as a transfer agent (a place to legally receive guns ordered from elsewhere). Unlike some other local options, Liberty has sensible pricing of $30 for the first firearm, but only $10 for each additional one. The other thing I liked was being able to do it completely online; like many people, I'm not always shopping during business hours. The inside of the facility was very nice, and so were the people. Original complaint: The facility itself is nice, but you'll notice there's never anyone there. That's because they charge over $40 an hour for a single lane rental. No law enforcement or military discount like literally every other range, and the "membership" fee is also absolutely ridiculous. Way to cater to your clientele. Pretty sure the only reason this place is still in business is because the Johnstown PD Satelite office pays its mortgage. I am editing and updating this review to move from a 2 star to a 1 star, as whoever responded from the company clearly doesn't have "all the facts". I have shot here several times, and it is always expensive. I usually go on 1/2 price lane rental days, the half price that I have been charged EVERY SINGLE TIME is $22 an hour for 100 yard lane. That makes the single lane 1 hour rental for a 100 yard lane $44. Not $30. So clearly either the representative is a straight liar or her employees are extremely poorly trained and are robbing customers. The incident that sparked this review occurred during military appreciation, where lanes were half off for military members. My boyfriend, in the military, and I went to sight in rifles. Desk lady asks if I am military, I say no I am federal police. She says okay then you are full price, $44. So my boyfriend says okay then nevermind the two lanes for an hour, I just want one lane for 2 hours (he was going to shoot both guns). The desk lady then says okay, takes all our info, takes his card, and as she's swiping says that will be $67.50. He says woah! Don't run that, that's crazy! She proceeds to try and tell him she's charging him my full price hour and his half price hour. STILL NOT $30 A LANE, DEFINITELY $44 IF YOU WANT THAT MATH TO ADD UP. Please don't believe the representative comment. I have asked every single time I have walked in the door if they have a law enforcement discount and have been told NO. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Boy oh boy holy shit sumbitch! Ive done some shooting here & its badass. & this year i decided to do some bow hunting for the 1st time EVER! & that caused me to have the great wonderful educational pleasure of dealing with Dana who is the 2nd to none SME (Subject Matter Expert) on archery & all things bow hunting. This Dana guy is a real ass dude i tell you what, after he put my bow together he gave me a crash course in firing it & got me very close to the bullseye, close enough that if i hit an animal there that sumbitch bastard will drop. He made suggestions & recommendations that did not have me emptying my pockets or breaking the bank. I had a hand me down bow that he was taking things off of & putting on my new bow & he went beyond the call of duty making so many fucking phone calls to try & make it work to no avail but it was greatly appreciated. & all the shit he did to my bow & for me was barely over 2 hours & that includes test firing it & zeroing that sumbitch. Dana is directly responsible for transforming me into an instrument of death with a primitive weapon, i now feel i have the upper hand over any & all punk ass elk both cow & bull. Im just sayin if you're going bow hunting or going to get into it or need ANYTHING in terms of archery & you dont consult Dana 1st or seek his advice & or recommendations then you're a stupid bastard & i hope you crash your bicycle read more

LFI has state of the art ranges. The have 25, 50 and 100yrd ranges. The people at LFI are extremely helpful and friendly. They treat everyone with respect. Safety is paramount and everything is run by the book. It is obvious that LFI wants to be a primer shooting institution. They have everything you could possibly need in the gun shop including a full time gunsmith. The owner even keeps his private collection on sight and the staff will give you a tour of his impressive collection. The Makharia group runs all the ranges and provides classes on the premise. I haven't taken a class yet but am looking forward to when I do. They are going through some growing pains. This is their first winter holiday and it was a bit difficult to get in at times. Normally you can just walk up if you haven't made a lane reservation. I was talking to the staff and they are all ready fomenting ideas to make next winter break better and I have no dought that that they will. I highly recommend Liberty Firearms Institute! read more

Awesome facility! I flew into Denver and wanted to verify zero before a big hunt so I researched this range. Completely professional, state of the art facility (camera down range), really courteous staff. I shot for an hour for $22. What's not to like? Update: I travelled through Denver on a hunt in Nebraska. Stopped by Liberty Range and zeroed my rifle. I LOVE this facility. If I lived in Denver, I'd be there every week! I've been a member for almost four years. For almost three years the simulation room has been out of order. One of the main reasons I joined was for the live fire simulation room. I have heard so many excuses that I've stopped asking. Any excuse given at this point will fall on deaf ears. Liberty is falling short of their claim of being a state of the art full service shooting range. I think they should reduce the monthly membership fees until the simulation room is repaired. I know that will never happen. I'am disappointed. If they ever get the room fixed you will have to buy their overpriced frangible ammunition. read more

We just moved to Colorado from Maryland and wanted to find a great local shooting range that was close to us, but most importantly...safe. Liberty Firearms Institute was all of that and more. The level of safety, professionalism, and service is the best I have seen. My son and I felt completely safe in this environment which made it super easy to fully enjoy the experience. Also the employees I dealt with were great but the manager let's just say was pretty awkward and a bit rude and condescending. I was pretty nervous going into the concealed carry training. I have only shot a few times years ago and I felt like maybe it would be too advanced for me. I immediately felt comfortable the second I walked into the room to learn. It was an 8 hour class and time actually went by really quickly. I found the class to be very interesting. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I also left with lots of notes and resources. The portion of the training that was on the range was great. The drills they did were very helpful and a lot of fun. They walked you through each step so you felt confident. I am not usually a fan of indoor ranges but this one was top notch. I felt very safe. The staff and trainers were great and so knowledgable. It was 100% worth the money! I felt a huge sense of relief after the training. I feel so much more comfortable and confident. I am glad I went through this training. I would take the class again tomorrow! read more

There are many gun enthusiasts in my family so we took a three-day trip to visit Liberty in Colorado this month. Wow! Amazing. Right off the bat, the GM gave us a tour. Highly recommend the tour. Couldn't get over how clean and high-tech all of the ranges and bays were and how beautiful the actual build-out was. There's a powerful air filtration system going on so the air is very clean. They have a 25-yard, 50-yard, and 100-yard range. The 100-yard range have monitors displaying your target in realtime so you see your shot in the bay. There's a steel-target bobber bay (live contests!!), a live-fire simulation range (now this will get your adrenaline going!), a Gatling gun, huge retail area, classes, gun-smithing shop, high-end fine rifle room (with some #1 editions by Kimber), and plenty of rentals to use (including a Desert Eagle). And the Liberty team members were extremely professional, knowledgeable and organized. Thanks, Liberty, for offering such an amazing experience. Best shooting value you for your money! Period the end! The platinum membership is the way to go which includes your own gun safe. The staff here are first rate people. Look at the value versus the cost. The value here is worth every cent. Awesome pro shop and VIP member lounge. Shooting by nature is an expensive sport. This is a great value!!! Simply put this is THE BEST range I have ever been to. It's the only indoor range I know in the area that allows non-members to shoot in too. However, there are certain ranges that are reserved only for members. Apparently to some, that causes hurt feelings. Unlike other ranges in the area, this range give a discount (I believe 10%) to military (active or vet) and LE (active or retired I believe) off the initiation fee, and that and the monthly fee are considerably less than another range in the area that also has a 100 yard in door range. Available for non-members is the 25 & 50 yard pistol and rifle range, as well as the 100 yard rifle only range. They have electronic controls for distances in all ranges, and in the 100 yard they have a small video screen that shows your target at 100 yards only - this is way better than a spotting scope for some who's either not using a scope, or just a lower powered magnifier. Also they have a bow range available for anyone. For members they also offer a "bobber" range, with steal targets. They require you use frangible ammo in it, that you either purchase from them or you can bring in your own but for safety reasons they only allow I believe 1 kind - they've tested several and apparently it's the only one they've not had any shrapnel issues with. Also, again for members only, a 1000% awesome sim range! You can use either your own firearm (or one you rent from them too I guess) or one of their laser sim weapons. If you use your own it has to have rails to take a laser on it, otherwise you won't know where your hitting. I took the whole family there, wife and 2 kids and we had a blast! Because of the kids I went with their laser guns (a glock and a AR style) and we didn't have to wear eyes or hearing protection. The kids wanted to do a zombie course so that's the 1st one we did, and again it was a blast. We did a couple of other course too, and all were a lot of fun! One of these days I'll go either just with my wife or by myself and use my firearm with their laser. They have 100's of different courses you can go through apparently. It is also nice they have RSO's who watch people shoot, as in all my years of shooting I've seen some really unsafe people out there. Coming from a background of growing up in a hunting family, and serving in the Marines, I take range safety seriously - and so do they. There is at least one RSO who knows me (we talk if he's there while I'm shooting), and he only vaguely pays attention to me when I'm shooting, however when I was there with my family he did pay a little closer attention and he quickly called to my attention an issue with my daughter before she got her hand in the way of a slide - would have cause her a good deal of pain. The other RSO's tend to watch me for a min or two, and then they seem to wonder off mostly to others. If your practicing good range safety they seem to basically leave you alone - i.e. not hovering behind you, but still keeping an eye on the range as a whole. I have seen them pay extra attention to those that need it. I wouldn't worry about being tatic-cool.... as I can guarantee that is not I. I spent enough time dressed like a tree or a rock, I sure as heck don't dress like that now, nor do I act like that. I also welcome most advice when shooting - I'm a good shot, but can always get better and I don't even pretend that I know everything (far from it!). So I've never had one even minor issue with any RSO. Take it for what it's worth. The store is pretty well stocked in firearms and OK stocked in ammo and accessories. Prices seem reasonable too. I had an issue with a rifle I bought for my son, and took it to the gunsmith (apparently also a Marine), he was knowledgeable and nice but wasn't able to fix the firearm. It's a single shot Rossi - so not exactly widely used firearm, therefore it didn't bother me he wasn't able to do anything with it (he said he didn't think he could get parts for it). All in all, this is the top of the line range in the area. The setup is real high end "gun club", but so far the staff has been down to earth, and the prices are all well in line to anything in the area. I HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Prices can be a bit steep and they don't ever have good deals. Be prepared that when you're shooting they're going to hover and tell you you're shooting wrong acting like everyone doesn't know how to shoot. I've been approached more than once over how I was bringing up my stance. They just kept repeating I'm bringing my gun up high as if I'm going to accidentally ahoot the roof or myself. The barrel of my gun was never pointed at me. My finger was not even on the trigger until I had the barrel down range. They changed their rules up as well, saying you can only have one gun out at a time. read more

My second experience here completely negates my previous one. The store manager reached out after hearing about my experience and immediately booked me an appointment with Dana. I spoke to them both and they were very apologetic about the situation and wanted to make it right as soon as possible. When I walked up to the bow counter this time, I felt welcomed and Dana was immediately on the range helping me sight in. He even tied in my peep, which I hadn't noticed wasn't done, and did it quite aesthetically. He then helped me on my form for about a solid hour while we sighted in, and I just generally had a good time picking his brain and walked out having accomplished what I originally came for and more. First I would like to say the sales person I was dealing with was phenomenal and very helpful however the manager was rather subpar. I was going in to buy my duty gun via blue label. I took all the paperwork that my agency said i would need and the manager refused to even leave their office to view the paperwork. The paper work was enough for multiple other gun shops I have visited. And according to guidelines met all of Glocks blue label rules. I will be taking my business literally anywhere else from now on and will refuse to spend another penny at this establishment I've spent thousands of dollars at in the past since they can't even support local law enforcement. read more
