I attended Yellowwood Academy from the middle of 6th grade to the end of 8th grade. This school was…read moreboth a lifeline for me and a terrible environment. The school's system is run poorly, but I will say a lot of the teachers were amazing to me during my journey. I came to that school in a very rough period of my life and met some of the best and worst people I think I'll ever know. Tuition is extremely expensive, but from what I heard there is financial aid. As for academics, I learned quite a bit from my 1:1 classes and I learned some basic social skills from my group classes. In the end, I left because I tend to be very social and this just isn't a social school at all. The small student population and limited groups did not work for me. There was some bullying and less than nice groups I got involved with, but a lot of that was my fault. The only real way I can describe my time at Yellowwood was being a child with many siblings in a divorced family. There was a lot of tension at some points but you did learn who to trust and who to avoid. It was an odd place for sure but I am grateful to Yellowwood for the initial support and the academics.

They did not follow BIP during this (I was listening via phone) and asked me to keep her home till contact wi district was made 5 days later they told district they could not support her. They screwed up and threw her away! If your child fits the narrow profile they are looking for it's a wonderful school if not they do not have flexibility. Search elsewhere

This review for GRCC is on booking a meeting room for an outside business. Booking the room was…read moreeasy via a phone call and filling out a form. I got the time slot we wanted for an all-day meeting. I worked with Pam Dally, and she was great. When we arrived to the room, the guest login and password along with the phone extension were written on the whiteboard for us for the desktop we were using for the presentation. I had asked for an easel which wasn't there, but after asking at the front desk, one was brought up right away. The room was clean. GRCC doesn't set up the tables and chairs for you, but it was easy for us to do that ourselves for the small group we had. When we came back from lunch, I asked security to unlock the door for us, and he was happy to do so. He was a friendly guy who chatted me on the way there. The place was deserted on a Friday. I don't know if that is because there was a break in the semester or what. It was very quiet, which was perfect for us. We had one student bang on the door in the middle of our meeting asking to use the pencil sharpener, which wasn't a big deal. The only other disturbance all day was someone's car with the bass cranked up so loud it was shaking the wall on the third story for about two minutes. There is a big parking lot on the west side of Kent Station, next to GRCC which makes parking easier if the garage is full. There isn't a cafe or any vending machines anywhere that we could find so bring food or go out to eat. The bathrooms were well kept.

I understand certain teachers teach differently just as some students learn differently. The only reason I give it a 3 star is bc they tend to get political and push negativity about certain political parties! It's pretty awkward and uncomfortable when they get upset at a student for their political beliefs. Should only be focused on the study at hand, not education based on which party is best and hinting otherwise pushing you towards their personal beliefs... unless of course your taking political science and such.

She told me to stand up in front of my entire class to show them "how not to sing" knowing I had my wisdom teeth removed the day before. She was misogynistic, picked favorites and singled out the girls for laughing with each other before class. she said, "why would we expect men to respect us and not see us as objects when we act like that." She just wanted to try it all as fast as she could. Different areas for kids of different ages. The playground's icon is a 25-foot-long colorful caterpillar climbing sculpture. Kids can climb, exercise their fine and gross motor skills, and really feel their accomplishment as they climb to the nose of the caterpillar. All play areas have adjacent paths for continuous easy movement. The colorful park has a tree and meadow motif, with plants and creatures depicted in the equipment and the poured-in-place rubber surfacing. The playground includes features designed to encourage healthy physical development, such as slides, swings, spinners, and climbing rocks, as well as nontraditional playground activities designed for sensory development. The playground is divided into three areas: One play area focuses on early childhood, one focuses on children ages 5 to 12, and one is easily used by both groups for climbing, swinging, spinning and sliding. Children can play anywhere on the playground, but the design allows younger children to play independently from older children. The early childhood areas feature equipment that helps young children develop balance, coordination, social skills, and imagination. They can climb on a sculpted ladybug, and spin in an Omni Spinner and on a ring-like Super Nova. A glider swing is big enough to accommodate a pile of kids. They can try the balance beam and play in a little house. In the painted-games area, children can hopscotch on a dragonfly or balance on a bee flying to a flower. The Rolling Hills synthetic turf mound invites them to climb up and roll down, and in a climbing area, they can travel the circular walk or climb the tree to the top of a play structure and slide down the slide. Children on tricycles or in wheelchairs rolling on the Wavy Walk can stop at a stop sign, fill up at the gas station, and slow down in the school zone. They can also enjoy the sensory delight of making music on oversized instruments. A central covered area with picnic tables allows parents to sit in the shade and see almost every play area. Benches are also scattered around the periphery. A bathroom was clean and close by. This park is definitely worth the trip. Bring a picnic, but don't bring your dog. Dogs (other than service animals) aren't allowed.
