Our about 100-ft cedar wood fence extension (above block wall) was severely damaged during a storm. Each section of 12, 8-foot long sections interconnects to each other like links in a chain thru common posts. Several of these posts were broken at their bases. One section fell off; several others are very loose. Dry Southwest climate. The entire fence must be replaced. LMI claims total replacement cost is $265. 84. With our $500 deductible, Liberty Mutual (SafeCo) refuses to pay. $265 will not even pay for just the cedar of ONE section (must be special-ordered, trucked in). I found LMI claims adjusters, Katherine Weinberger and Kristina Aguirre, are terrible to deal with: Both were condescending, evasive, deceptive, manipulative. They refused to consider all losses, insulted me with corporate BS spiel mantras, and refused to provide me their chain of command and LMI's Registered Agent info. Also, they claimed that LMI did not deny my claim, implying that if LMI assesses losses at $1, it could claim non-denial. Simple fact is: LMI clearly loves to DENY PAYING CLAIMS. Katherine Weinberger and Kristina Aguirre even refused to justify how LMI derived its $265 figure. They both clearly have absolute no credibility regarding anything. The sole purpose of insurance is to protect you from catastrophic financial losses should the covered item be damaged, destroyed, stolen - what your premiums pay for. If a claim arises, you rightfully expect it to be reliably, fairly, totally and quickly paid, less deductible. Insurance companies which delay, nitpick, resort to technicalities, ultra low-ball, refuse to fully consider losses, refuse to itemize settlement figures are crooks. Period. Our experience LMI. Check out LMI yourself. Your hard-earned premiums are not intended to pay for multi-million dollar compensation packages + golden parachutes for about 10 of its execs, fleet of 5 long-distance luxury corporate jets, state-of-the-art hangar, lavish resort stays, etc. LMI. You expect your claims to be evaluated and paid fairly, quickly, fully based on your coverage, losses - not based upon some arbitrary low-ball formula contrived by MBAs. Again, LMI. Nor expect their claims adjusters to be financially rewarded for denying or low-balling you. Again, LMI. Nor tolerate bad employee treatment: LMI clearly has history of not paying overtime, for paying much smaller salaries and bonuses to its female employees, and with a firmly intact glass ceiling. Out of LMI's 54 Operational Managers, only 2 have identifiable female names! Clearly, LMI abuses its female employees by making them futureless stupid fools providing its big boys with lavish lifestyles paid for by policyholder premiums. Out of about 100 insurance companies, LMI ranks about #8 from the bottom - many LMI bad faith and breach of contract complaints. "Soaring greed at Liberty Mutual" (Brian McGrory, Boston Globe). "Liberty Mutual tries to squirm out of every claim" (Bill Shaw, 2016). LMI uses the "pure premium" criteria (basically, the % of total premiums used to pay total claims) to measure LMI's profitability, to evaluate its claims adjusters and for their bonuses. The less paid out in claims, the lower the pure premium, the better the evaluation and the bigger the bonus. You get the picture. Worse thing that any American corp. can do is to betray, demean and disrespect our Country. A big deal to me; I honorably volunteered and served our Country during time of war. LMI runs disgusting and despicable TV ads which show The Statue of Liberty - sacred American symbol - at left. At right is usually a person acting or looking bizarre and crazy - clearly implies that The Statue of Liberty (ie: America) makes people act and appear bizarre and/or crazy. In many of LMI ads (eg: emu ads), a yellowish color is prominent, which appears to closely match the color of the Chinese flag stars and some Chinese cultural symbols (eg: Chinese Lantern). DOD says China is enemy of the USA. LMI appears to be only "American" insurance company allowed to operate in Western China; meaning that China controls some, if not all, of LMI. If LMI substituted its Statue of Liberty image with the image of Chin Shih Huang, for sure, LMI would have zero China market share - if not sued to the hilt. Also, there are clearly disturbing complex dealings involving China (ie: Fosun International Ltd), LMI and its Ironshore subsidiary, Wright & Co. (previous subsidiary of Ironshore; bought, later sold by Fosun), Starr Companies, Lloyd's China platform, and CoverWallet. Wright USA writes most of the liability insurance policies for Federal workers, including the CIA. The personal, private, financial data of 1,000s of CIA employees and their families are at grave risk of compromise. Liberty mutual, where do I begin? My whole experience with these people have been a complete and utter nightmare. I was hit by an elderly man in late October of 2015. Liberty mutual accepted liability and agreed to fix my car. I am with state farm for car insurance who are a phenomenal company to work with. The man who hit me had liberty mutual and they did not have his correct phone number on file. My car sat for weeks wrecked in my driveway because liberty mutual did not have the man's contact information to get his telephone statement so we were unable to move forward until they got it. My husband had to knock on the man's door that hit me to get his phone number. I called liberty mutual with his information and they got his statement then told me "we're ready to go, just waiting on the police report" that took an additional few weeks. I was irritated but went along with it. Meanwhile, the man down the street who hit me has his car fixed and in his driveway like nothing ever happened! I guess because that man pays them monthly, he is top priority. Finally after weeks of waiting, they gave me the okay to go ahead and bring it to the shop to have it worked on. I was excited to get the ball rolling. When I went to start my car, my radio went out, then all the caution lights on the dash lit up and my car completely died. We had to have the car towed because the alternator went out DUE TO THE ACCIDENT. They took my car and it was there for 2 months. I decided to give them a call and check on the progress. The man Thomas, at the Ray Brandt collision center in Mandeville, la. Told me he called me ONCE and left a voicemail letting me know that I needed to go purchase a battery because the car will not start due to my after market lights. (Which worked perfectly fine before the accident) he said that I needed to go buy a battery and bring it to him in order to move forward. I told him that because liberty mutual accepted liability for the accident I was not buying a battery, they could. So he replaced the battery and told me that my car would be ready the same day. A few hours later, Thomas called to let me know my car was ready BUT it wasn't running because the alternator was out. I told him the alternator needed to be fixed and my car needed to be returned to me in the condition it was in before my accident. He told me he could not have it fixed without permission from liberty mutual. Because "parts go out on cars and I do not know if this was related to the accident" He told me he would call them and see what he could do. 5 days later, Still no call back. I have called liberty mutual and spoke to a woman who connected me to a voicemail. I left a voicemail, no call back. I have called every day since and still nobody has returned my call. The damage to the body of the car was fixed but the problems under the hood that are a direct result of the accident, they are refusing to fix. My car was well taken care of and serviced when needed. I never had one issue with the car since I had it and we have put a lot of money into the car to make it look and run nicely. It is now February of 2016 and I am still dealing with this headache. My next action is to contact a lawyer. I am so beyond Fed up with this company. I've paid 3 car notes and insurance on a car that I am unable to drive as a result of an accident that was not my fault. It is impossible to get in touch with someone who can help me. None of the people who answer phones can help me or steer me in the right direction. They all say "let me connect you to ____" and it goes straight to voicemails. They say "someone will call you back in 48 hours" it's been almost 3 months and I have yet to have someone help me. I even had my own insurance agent call on my behalf and nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Liberty mutual Is a joke and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy if someone paid me. It's unfair that I have to deal with this since the accident was not my fault. Every time I pass the body shop my car is just sitting there. In the same spot it was. They are doing nothing to accommodate me. I am ready to take legal action if my car isn't returned to me in the next week, fixed and in the pristine condition it was in before the accident. read more

Liberty Mutual refused to pay a full amount quote that we settled on, notifying after the repairs have been made in my home. I recently had a burst pipe in my condo, which caused my kitchen to be get flooded and ruined my cabinets, counter-tops etc. An initial estimate that was given to me by their inspector was just over a thousand dollars, which would not be enough to even do a quarter of the repairs required. The real kick was when two days post-inspection, a Liberty Mutual agent reached out to me to inform me that 3 of their experts have reviewed my case and agreed that none of the damage will be covered at all due to them deeming it a seepage and not a burst pipe (it was a hot water pipe, which is pressurized and experts should know that pressurized pipes don't seep, they can only burst). That's when I started feeling shaky about dealing with this insurance company. I pushed back and got a quote from a licensed professional to get an idea of what a true estimate for repairs would be. It was $10.5K, which I sent in for review. Then the whole process went dark for two weeks, meanwhile I was trying to get in touch with my case handler calling in and sending emails on daily basis. It took me reaching out to a senior level executive from corporate to finally get the ball rolling. My case handler immediately got in touch with me and advised me that they are accepting the fact that they will pay for the repairs, but sent a counter offer, which my contractor agreed on ($9,8K). So, we went ahead with the repairs having received 2 initial payments and an assurance from the estimator that the only way I will receive "recoverable depreciation "is by getting reimbursement post repairs. It has now been over a month and repairs have been competed, however, today I received a phone call from Liberty Mutual agent and was informed that only $6K will be covered under the policy, although my contractor and I agreed and signed off on the original quote of $9.8K from Liberty Mutual. Now I'm facing a shortage of over $4K that they wrote in for "recoverable deprecation " that they are refusing to pay. I have followed Liberty Mutual's guidelines to the dot - "Before repairs begin, please show our estimate to your contractor. If your contractor's estimate exceeds the amounts in our estimate, please contact us prior to beginning the work." I have reviewed and negotiated with my contractor to bring his price down to match Liberty Mutual' s quote line item for line item before doing any repairs and now I'm facing over $4K of expenses that I have to pay out of pocket. I then sent in my contractor's quote to Liberty Mutual and was cleared to begin work and was advised that the final payment (including recoverable deprecation) will be issues upon completion. Nowhere in the quote did it mention that only $6K will be covered. I would not have gone ahead with the repairs if I knew that that was going to be the case. It's also suspiciously odd that on their quote they wrote $5.6K (just under $6k policy limit) in "actual cash value" that they already paid out to me and $4.2K in "recoverable depreciation" that they are now not willing to pay due to my policy's $6K "dwelling" limit. Again, none of the above was stated on the agreed quote/contract. Very shady business practices on their end. The whole customer service experience has been a misery and I regret how much of my personal time I have wasted on resolving this issue. I actual live in Colorado but this the corporate Headquarters so I'm posting this review here as well as in Colorado. Fed Up!!! I have been a loooong time customer of Liberty Mutual! My parents were looooooooong time customers of Liberty Mutual. You would think that loyalty would pay off for you and in businesses that are good it does. Liberty Mutual doesn't value loyalty as they substantially raise your rates every year even though you have had no claims. I first started to sour on them when I found out I had been being over charged for years. Seems I was eligible for a huge discount that was based on my good credit and other factors. I was never asked about this discount or told about this discount. My agent at the time told me they weren't allowed to tell us about this discount. Even though even at this point I had been a very long time customer. My agents was Craig Barry. Craig knew my parents and had been their agent for a very long time. Once upon a time they deserved that loyalty but things changed around this time. I was mad that I had been being over charged and I left this agent. Since then I have experienced one problem after another. For example, one of our vehicle has NO DATA for both the make and the model of the vehicle showing on the proof of insurance. They show the correct VIN and have been given the information several times still it shows up as no data. Yesterday they told me they thought this was a trailer and that is all we were being charged for and that since this was a mistake our rates would go up by a factor of 4. So from $183.00 to $732.00. Turns out this IS NOT true! The new insurance company I found has given me a quote of $96.00 for this vehicle. So basically they are playing games with an already discouraged customer. Another problem is an actual trailer we insured with them last year has completely disappeared from their records. It is like we never insured the vehicle with them at all. It is no where to be found in the current policies nor does it show up in the renewal documents. WTH!!! This means we have been using this trailer with no coverage for who knows how long. I learned from the new insurance company that one of our vehicles that we bought with hail damage is showing that we filed a claim for that damage. We did NOT! We bought the car with the hail damage from a dealership. They never asked about it and they know we didn't file claim. Again WTH!!! This cost us about $170.00 more. They never asked about any of the multiple other discounts we once received when I spoke to them yesterday. My home owners insurance has skyrocketed and the only way the are willing to get the price down is if I under insure the home. And get this it was already under insured by over $25,000 and the renewal documents I received now have it under insured by $60,000. They lowered this without my permission and without consulting with me at all. Not many people have $60,000. lying around should something happen. This makes what they did unconscionable. We have had home owners insurance with them for 25 years and have only made one claim for hail damage in that time. Last year when I went through this they showed our home as being primarily heated with a wood burning stove. This is ludicrous!!! We have a wood burning stove we use maybe 3 times a year when the temperature goes below zero. Good Bye Liberty Mutual! For those reading this review I genuinely CANNOT recommend Liberty Mutual they have become dangerous in their practices. Liberty Mutual ruined my life under Claim #058985322. They took my car without permission, held it 23 days with no assessment, demanded $2,000 upfront, and returned it sabotaged. Their payoff to Honda was short, leaving me stuck with late fees. I've been homeless since March 16, 2025 because of their bad faith. Even the CEO's office refused to help. This company cheats customers, delays claims, and hides behind lies. Avoid Liberty Mutual at all costs."Worst insurance company ever." My apartment was burglarized. Instead of protecting me, Liberty Mutual relied on false statements from my ex-manager, Candi V., at the Astero Apt formally Tides at Gilbert East Apt. Owned by AMC who are also being sued in a class action lawsuit for unethical and/or overcharging price gouging. I was one who made them accountable and therefore that manager who lied and flagged my account for "suspicious activity." Your own employees, Jonathan Jeffries and Nancy Franco, confirmed there was no fraud on my account. Yet Liberty Mutual allowed my landlord's lies to stand. That false "suspicious activity" flag followed me into other claims, poisoning everything that came after. 2. Stolen Vehicle - 2020 Acura ILX My car was stolen and then towed to Copart without my consent, knowledge, or authorization.. Liberty Mutual and Rincon Towing acted without my approval, ignored my instructions, and refused to provide a full written explanation as to why this happened. I'm writing this letter because I have been left with my last no choice. The way Liberty Mutual has handled my claims has destroyed my trust, damaged my reputation, and left me struggling to survive. This is not just about an insurance policy--it is about human beings being treated unfairly, unethically, and immorally. They take and take until your destroyed. The DOI is hung up on Liberty lies and said I have a 2000 dollar deductible. I knew this however, Liberty STOLE MY CAR TOO... BUT THEY GET AWAY WITH THEIR LIES. Come back with its within your deductable. I would not have to pay deductible if you never stole my car. And then have the nerve to keep it and not tell me where it is unless I pay the $2,000. Based on Arizona law and general legal principles, someone cannot legally demand you give them the title, power of attorney (POA), and possession of your car without first reaching a settlement or having a legal right to claim the vehicle. I have endured humiliation, financial devastation, and emotional trauma. I have been treated as if I am disposable, as if my suffering does not matter. I am tired of the disbelief, the excuses, and the dismissive "we know you're frustrated" responses. Liberty Mutual's actions--or inactions--have caused irreparable harm to my life. I had already made it clear I was not keeping the vehicle. Their staff should also be held accountable for the lies and not performing upholding the standards of the insurance regulations. I am not in this for the emotional reasons I'm in this to protect those who have been cheated by this company in the same manner, if you are a person or the insured who experienced these or similar to my situation please respond to this review. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company deserves NO stars. I was the driver of a motor vehicle, on August 6, 2006, stopped due to traffic on southbound I-5 in Los Angeles, when struck from the rear by an uninsured vehicle driven by a person with a suspended drivers license. The damage to my vehicle was $4,535.68, including, but not limited to replacement of the exhaust system, rear body panel, rear bumper reinforcement, rear bumper cover, rear bumper lower energy absorber and rear bumper upper energy absorber, and repair of the left quarter panel, right quarter panel, left quarter panel extension, right quarter panel extension and rear floor, and requiring repair from August 16, 2006 through September 14, 2006. The damage to the other vehicle was total. I injured my neck and right shoulder, requiring four neck surgeries and three shoulder surgeries. The third neck surgery resulted in permanent right vocal cord paralysis requiring two vocal cord surgeries, which were unsuccessful. My insurance carrier, since 1990, was Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company, the third largest property and casualty insurer in the United States, who advertised, "RESPONSIBILITY. WHAT'S YOUR POLICY?, and my coverage was $1 million for uninsured motorist bodily injury. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company refused my repeated demands that they pay me my policy limit, claimed that only my first two neck surgeries were related to the accident, my three right shoulder surgeries were unrelated to the accident, my last two neck surgeries were unrelated to the accident, and since the third neck surgery was unrelated to the accident, the permanent right vocal cord paralysis and two vocal cord surgeries were unrelated to the accident. They delivered a check to me for $750,000.00, which they referred to as an advance, and through their attorney demanded arbitration. I retained an attorney and arbitrated my claim on April 30, 2013 and May 1, 2013. The arbitrator awarded me the remaining $250,000.00 uninsured motorist coverage. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company also was required to reimburse me costs in the amount of $14,759.30. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company failed to conduct and diligently pursue a thorough, fair and objective investigation, ignored the opinions of my treating and examining physicians and surgeons (who its retained medical experts testified are among the most capable and well respected doctors in their fields) and other evidence favorable to me, ignored the fact that my special and general damages suffered in this accident by any reasonable standard exceeded $1,000,000.00, was primarily concerned with its own financial interests and gave little, if any, consideration and concern for my interests, unreasonably or without proper cause refused to pay me the $1,000,000.00 policy limit, and demanded arbitration. Its advertising campaign centered around the commitment: "Responsibility, what's your policy?" An uninsured motorist caused severe and permanent injuries to me. "Responsibility" is taking care of the harm caused by the uninsured motorist victimizer, not compelling me to force "responsibility" upon Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company through a prolonged litigation and decision of an arbitrator. read more

Liberty Mutual is a HORRIBLE COMPANY that doesn't give a damn about loyal customers. I have been with Liberty Mutual Auto for my entire driving career (17 years!) and with their homeowners for 6 years. I have NEVER once put a claim on my insurance, either auto or home until 2018. So if we are keeping track that is 14 years of auto with NO CLAIMS and 6 years of homeowners with NO CLAIMS. Anyways, in 2018 my husband was run off the road by an idiot who was too impatient to wait for the car in his own lane to turn and decided to go around him and entered my husbands lane of traffic. To avoid a head on collision my husband swerved and hit the guardrail. Needless to say the idiot driver just kept going and when we had to claim it on our insurance to get it fixed the morons at Liberty Mutual told my husband he should have stayed in his lane and had the head on collision so the other driver would have stopped!! That alone should have been a RED FLAG to move on from Liberty Mutual but nope I stayed. In 2019 I had to put in another claim and yes this one was my fault that I take full responsibility for it. Now onto 2020 and my car is hit in a parking lot while I'm not even in it and there is of course no note or anything about who hit me. So I had to put in another claim which wasn't my fault. Needless to say because of just these 3 claims from 2018 - 2020 Liberty Mutual decided they were going to drop us! I have NEVER put a claim in 14 years and just because 2 other idiot drivers caused us to put in claim we get dropped?! What kind of company does that?! So I decided that I can just plead my case and they will understand. I mean I've been a loyal customer for 17 years! Oh boy was I wrong! When I called to plead my case they essentially told me I was SOL and that they could help me find new insurance. FUCK THAT! They want to treat loyal customers like that then I'm gone! Oh and BTW it was a blessing in disguise because now I'm saving over $1000 a year for both my auto and home insurance and I'm dealing with a company that cares about their customers, unlike Liberty Mutual. Safeco insurance a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Insurance refuses to repair damage caused by their structural engineer. We were told by a rude adjuster that our roof didn't leak, we just had wind driven rain damage. Safeco then sent a structural engineer to inspect the roof. In the process he broke 40+ concrete tiles. All the while he ensured us that the damage he was continuing to cause would be covered by Safeco. Once the adjuster found out the tiles could not be matched and suggested that they may have to replace the roof, that agent was removed from the claim and was "no longer authorized" to communicate with us. We are now being told that it is not their responsibility to match the tiles, only to replace them with what is available. That is like them telling you it is OK to put a pink fender on a blue car after an auto accident. The latest representative stated we are not going to fix damage that we didn't cause. I agreed, I am not asking for them to fix damage they didn't cause. They caused more damage than the 10 inches of rain we had. What we asked for was to replace the one slope of the roof that would have a large landing strip of tiles a different color and texture than our original tiles. Speaking of damage they caused, what about the damage to the value of our house for the eyesore and decreased curb appeal. Then they had the nerve to suggest the tear up the back of the house slope to use matching tiles from there and put the mismatched tiles in the back of the house. Or even better, they would supply the information about a company that would paint the roof at MY expense. I didn't walk all over my roof and cause the damage, this is their solution for damage that they are responsible for due to the negligence of a Safeco representative. I would strongly discourage anyone considering doing business with this company. If you have Safeco I would start shopping for a new policy before it is too late. read more

I have been a customer of Liberty Mutual since 2009, both car and homeowners insurance. I can honestly say I've never had an issue with them up until the last few years. Their customer service has really gone downhill and their lack of assistance and urgency when issues arise is really off putting. Most recently, we started a simple bathroom project and found dry rot around one of the windows. Upon further inspection, this dry rot spanned the entire side of my house and had rotted right through the studs, compromising the structure of the house. The exterior clapboard and interior drywall both showed no signs of damage so there was no way for us to know this damage existed. I have Amendatory mold, fungus, wet rot, dry rot coverage however what Liberty doesn't tell you is there is a separate endorsement called "seepage" which states that any "gradual, continuous, or repeated seepage or leakage of water steam or fuel over a period of 14 days or more, resulting in damage to the structure" negates the entire amendatory mold/fungus endorsement. It's unlikely dry rot would ever be present within 14 days, so basically you're led to believe you have this coverage when actually Liberty Mutual hides behind the seepage exception and assumes no responsibility. I'm $30k out of pocket to fix the damages and the response from Liberty was "it's not our fault you don't know how to read your policy". This is the second time in 4 years we've had this type of experience with them so it's time for us to move on and find another company who cares about protecting the one asset they're being paid to protect. Yes they provide cheap policies. However when tornado hits you ... expect this known corporate torfeasor Liberty to cheat you. In my case LibertyMutual promised to repair roof and never did on the total loss, refused to adjust claim three times because Liberty adjuster knew and photographed that roof was leaking. Instead of flooring adjuster specified 3/8 underlayment, on damaged exterior walls they don't include insulation, adjuster uses R13 - in the attic, instead of wood windows - adjuster used aluminum, instead of stained doors - Liberty Mutual Crooks used unpainted, did not include fireplace, lied about the damaged furnace "never discussed" - despite it was stated in writing. On the trim they never include paint or stain, and if they forced: adjuster will just uncheck the removal labor. On the siding "fraudsters" specified patches of 6" cedar instead of 12" and as cheats unchecked removal labor, did not pay for the damaged sheathing, moisture barrier, or deck removal and reinstall, avoided paying for proper dumpster. Their engineer declares everything pre-existing prior to entering the property and in the breach of Second Law of Thermodynamics declared humidity problems where moisture condenses on warm surface before the cold. They lie, they cheat and they protected by a-d shysters who willfully supplied address of abandoned property as our service address, miscite state law, supply intrinsically fraudulent affidavits, falsify claimlog, they even supplied falsified policy. This company - is dirty. You would be stupid to buy this "Great expectations insurance". read more

Liberty mutual auto insurance is underhanded and shameless. We started our car insurance for our two cars at a great rate and based on my previous experience with Geico, I assumed that my premium is going to remain the same and thus never bothered to look closely at my renewal documents. We have never had tickets and accidents during our time with them. Fast forward 3 years, I look at the premium now. It has been raised by almost $2000 a year. That's a %100 increase in two years. Note that this increase happened during the pandemic year, when our cars, like many other cars, were not even driven that much. We never had tickets or accidents so I didn't bother to look closely at renewal documents, assuming that they, like any other decent company worth its name, won't increase the premium, at least not that much. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Liberty Mutual. They lure you with a low rate. We even signed up for a tracking device to get their initial discount. Once they have you, however, they screw you over as soon as you're not paying attention. Shame on you Liberty Mutual. This is not right. Please don't bother with this fraudulent company and take your business somewhere else. Just got interrogated by Safeco Investigator. You'd think that I was being interrogated for stealing my own trailer. All it was was the damn awning that got torn/pulled/ripped off. At first, I thought it was vandalism went and knocked on all my neighbor's doors to see if they heard anything. Then after talking to a few RV owners and my Dad who said a tree could very well rip off a closed awning...well I felt dumb. (Newbie Trailer Owner) So, I went back looking to see if I hit anything lol and nothing looked hit but I do have lots of trees in my culdesac area. Well, after saying all that they wanted to know my entire past history of who I was with did I lend anyone my trailer, knowing I just told them It happened in my neighborhood while the trailer was still hooked up to my vehicle. OMG the feeling I feel right now is not a feeling one should have after speaking to an insurance company. Geez! They asked me how did I pay for my own trailer, where I take it for trips. That is none of their business...period! I am a business owner and this is unacceptable what she said was their new policy. Very disappointed in this Travel Trailer Insurance Company. Jason was very friendly and helpful. I spent two hours on the phone with him because he set up a policy for my truck at a lower rate than I have been paying, then also got me set up with a policy for my manufactured home with Liberty's partner company, American Standard. I called Liberty Mutual because State Farm was going to drop my homeowner's insurance so I decided to switch my truck insurance as well as the homeowner's insurance. They claim I need a new roof and that the existing damage is normal wear and tear (the roof is 17 years old and the shingles have a 30 year warranty!) and they gave me till Oct 13 of this year to replace it or they would not renew my policy. I'm retired and have only my Social Security so can't afford a new roof. My roofer says it IS hail damage but the adjuster was always unavailable when I attempted to get my roofer and him together with me on a conference call to try to work things out. Since my son and his wife switched their insurance over to Liberty Mutual when their son got his license to drive almost two years ago and State Farm raised their rates astronomically, I decided to try Liberty Mutual also. Definitely not recommended. Approximately around 5:20am I got a flat tire. I called road assistance number, and an automated operator indicated all steps to follow in order to put the request for the flat tire situation in my car. After filling the details, a person named Mohammed was assigned to my case, but never contacted me. I called him directly since the phone number was provided to me via text message, but instead, the phone call sounded like rejected. Instead I received a text message from same number saying "Can I call you later?". Four days later and I am still waiting for this call. 3hrs later a person named Moe (different person) contacted me saying if I still need the service. I ended up changing the tire myself because nobody was efficient enough to attend my case. I called customer service in Liberty Mutual webpage and a person redirected my call to the same Roadside Assistance number I previously called, which does not have any operator inline. Unfortunately this is the worst experience for what I am paying for. I submitted a complaint through a phone number provided to me and $10 gift card was offered as a remedy for my case. I was ready to renew my insurance with Maphre and when I went online to my policy, my insurance had gone up by $1000 for the new policy. I was shocked to say the least so I called them. The representative that I spoke with couldn't tell me why my insurance went up by $1,000 and then proceeded to tell me it could have been because of the mileage on my car which is a 16 year old Chevy Impala with 116,000 miles and that I am a high risk driver. I've been driving for 40 plus years if anything I should be low risk so because of the ncompetence of the person I was speaking to I decided to go with Liberty Mutual and my auto policy with renters insurance is under $1,000. The representative was knowledgeable and answered all my questions and offered me some perks as well. I understand Maphre is going through a transition but that shouldn't affect a customer's insurance policy going up that much money and the representative can't answer the question as to why it went up . Liberty's Representatives are knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to as well as respectful. Maybe other insurance companies out there should follow suit. read more
