I split my time between Marietta and this house because I have to manage our rental properties down there and it takes up a lot of my time. First off, I had been trying to call multiple State Farm offices for a while - kept getting routed to the toll free number. Toll free customer service agents told me they can't offer quotes effective Jan 1, 2023. And to keep trying local agents. I started asking friends, family members & clients for recommendation (even solicited Nextdoor and FB recommendations) When I was finally able to reach a 'live' person at this location, I was thrilled. But my joy quickly turned to sadness as I was told that Ms. Reid was too busy to speak to me. I don't understand this at all. No offer to take a message and get back to me. Don't get me wrong - the gentlemen who answered the call told me there were other agents who could assist me. So I asked, "Are you one of the other agents?" And he said yes. I declined because - 1) I had 2 people recommend Ms. Reid, specifically, so I wanted to speak to her and potentially give her my business and 2) this gentleman used some weird phrasing at the start of the call and his communication during the call made me feel like his English / our communication might be a struggle. I think he said something like "What would Ms. Reid be advising you about?" before he checked to see if he had time to speak to me. I got the impression that I'm a little too 'down home' or 'country' for this office. Lol. Based on this - I decided to call another State Farm office. I was sincerely hoping this is not indicative of how State Farm treats it's customers. I reached out to Shannon Perren's office in Powder Springs and spoke to Crystal. She was able to provide a very reasonable quote within 15 minutes.

The insurance agency from the link above dropped the ball HARD on the transfer and LIED about how long it would take to do a simple transfer of insurance from one state to another. I reached out to my old agency in North Carolina for assistance. Natalie Reid was highly recommended by them, so they made the connection. Within LESS than an HOUR, ALL of my insurance needs were taken care of by Leanne Sturgeon. Brittany Astin stated that she was out of office but would immediately get me linked with another person at the office to get me taken care of. Leanne not only called me directly, but she explained everything to me, how long certain things would take and assured me that MY part in all of this was done. She emailed me a binder and we're all set. I was so pleased that I decided to transfer my renters policy to Natalie Reid (I had to contact the 800 number for this, as Leanne advised that they couldn't do it directly...otherwise it would look as though they were "taking" a customer from the agency mentioned in the link above). They didn't even tell us they were dropping us, they just sent a new bill that didn't include the van. When we called about it they said, oh, all your coverage will be dropped in 60 days but the van in 3 weeks. On another vehicle, the told us that even though it was an inexpensive vehicle (Corolla) it was expensive to insure because there were more claims than for a Subaru (our other car), not a higher percentage of claims, just total claims. Go figure there are several times more Corollas on the road than Subaru Outbacks. If their logic is that bad, I wouldn't expect any satisfaction if you ever had to file a claim.

There they were/are...local...customer-focused and at a reduced rate with some additional coverage for home, car rental, etc. Was somewhat familiar with our eventual choice...Auto Owners and now a year later have found Harrington to be a very smart choice at every metric. They dont like immigrants/accent…read more.. I called them up for a homeowners quote on 4/11/2019. The lady who initially took the call was very POLITE. I was told that a male agent (can't recall his name anymore) will call me back soon. In few minutes sure enough an older guy called me back. After a few sentence it was obvious to me that he is an old seasoned pro, doing this job forever. VERY EXPERIENCED!!!. He took the needed information. He did not say anything unprofessional but it was CLEAR that there is some subtle dislike towards me. I did not object on it., I did let it go.... He asked me if I own my house?...I told him I did...."Are you sure?".....I said I know that I own it....."Is it paid off?"...."Yes Sir, it is. It is free and clear".... "Hmmm" he said. It was pretty weird. Many people have paid off houses. At that point I knew that something set him off. Agents wanting your business will say something like this: " I will call you back with a quote in few hours". Or something along those lines. Not him! He said: "I know your email, I will email you IF I can help you".....I was 110% sure that I wont hear from him again. Sure enough there was no news from him. I am an immigrant living in the States for 20+ years. I own 2 houses. My credit is 840. I never filed an insurance claim in my life. I have a pretty good command of English. SO ANY INSURANCE COMPANY/BROKER SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ME A QUOTE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. Don't be confused, these locals aren't who you work with when you need them most. The whole ordeal of processing a claim is more than a nightmare. I was hit in Atlanta by a Nationwide customer (I live in North Georgia). Their client was found liable, but the company's customer experience and the lengths they go to nickel and dime you is insane (and yes, I've worked with insurance before and understand that generally it isn't pleasant). We tried to get ahold of our adjuster after the wreck. We never heard back and left two messages on his voicemail. He eventually called back, after 8 pm, and yelled at us for at least 15 minutes (I started timing it) because we left a second message after never hearing from him. After taking our statements he told us we had to move our car from the tow lot within 24 hours because Nationwide will charge you holding fees after three days. He then yelled at us again when we tried to clarify where the car needed to be towed. With no ability to get ahold of our adjuster, I set up to have the car towed from the lot (it was totaled and couldn't be driven). Nationwide hadn't looked at the car yet because they assigned it to someone on vacation and after much pressing and being literally yelled at with a raised voice for over 20 minutes, I found someone at Nationwide who said he'd help get the car looked at and towed to the Nationwide site. Long story short, over a week after our accident, the tow yard let us know that the car was being considered abandoned because Nationwide never showed up despite their promises (we were also told we were being charged). We also had to send our adjusters the police report and other things to facilitate the process because they weren't working on our claim. Basically, the company did everything in its power to delay looking at our only car and told us they wouldn't pay for rental expenses. We still have not been reimbursed for travel expenses from the accident home even though the Nationwide wreck line told us we would be if their client was found at fault. As you can imagine, the Uber cost was high coming out of Atlanta to Northern Georgia. So here we are, no car, paying for a rental even though they accepted liability. They use CCC which undervalues your car. For example, the comps they used had over 50k more miles than our car and didn't include our Special Edition features. When you try to send comps, they ignore them. We have been without a car for over a month, have been given prices for cars that don't match ours, and have been yelled at multiple times. Also, I've spent at least three hours per day for a month dealing with Nationwide representatives, only to get my property and health valued at next to nothing. I am still struggling with health-related issues from the accident (which makes all the yelling even worse). Also, they don't accept Bluebook values. They don't accept similar cars unless they come from CCC, whose compatible vehicles aren't even on car lots - we called the lots to see if we could buy the cars. If you have special features, forget it. They are valued at nothing. We had less than 1k miles on brand new tires. We spent $700 and they offered us $25 because our tires were in exceptional condition. Good luck collecting fees for taxes or added value for things like AWD or special edition features because apparently it doesn't snow enough in Atlanta to make those valuable. Nationwide is not on your side. Use this insurance at your own risk. You won't be covered and they will undervalue your time, health and property.
