I am not going to lie. I am actually very surprised to see a lot of negative reviews on this company bc they have a lot of great reviews on Google. I contacted this company a year ago when my a/c unit died. I saw the LibertyAir sticker and decided to call bc they installed it with the previous owners. It was so hot in my apartment and they were able to assess. I ended up going with them to place a completely new HVAC system cost me 12K. It had an air scrubber that I was not forced but encouraged to get. I was never forced into anything. In fact, the tech that came in asked me questions bc he didn't want me to spend a lot of money on the a/c unit, which I appreciated. I ended up getting the a/c with all the bells and whistles. I was referred to their home loan program that lets you do 18 months with % interest, and that has been a life saver. So, I was actually really disappointed that within a year I had to contact them bc it was leaking and had a clog. They were able to come at night and unclog the pipe. I signed up for their every 6 month check/tune-up. So another couple hundred dollars there... I like the company a lot as they are responsive. I just wish that the tech that came didn't leave a mess on my carpet, but overall good experiences! read more

Had them come out for an a/c repair and honestly regretted it. Issue was diagnosed and the repair initially was close to $800 including some elective services. Went with just doing what was needed for the unit which was almost $500. I was completely had. Comparing to other quotes now for the replacement of a small part that was done, many other companies are telling me it would've cost me less than half of what I was billed. This wasn't an emergency call either on a weekend or holiday. No inclement weather either so this wasn't done during a hail storm or hurricane/tornado watch. Spoke to even the owner of the company and he saw no issue with what I was billed for. Price gouging at its finest. If I had seen these reviews in Google, I would've skipped I calling this company. I'm sorry but there's no excuse. People need to make a living, not a killing, and do so honestly. read more

We used Liberty for three homes and in the last three years, spent north of $10,000 will them. They did a good job until the last year when we had issues that should have been caught on the semi-annual service and inspection contract. The Liberty front office billed us to repair what should have been prevented by their service process. We understand that techs can make mistakes, but charging the customer for these mistakes is a bad business practice. We also installed some expensive upgrades to the HVAC systems with Liberty. These are failing after only two years. Liberty no longer gets our business. I recommend staying away from Liberty. read more

First and last time using. Here's why. The technician diagnosed a drain clog, and after we declined repair, the technician asked for the $89 service fee. We understood from the office, when we scheduled the call, that we would be billed for payment and could send a check. Acknowledging there was a misunderstanding somewhere, the technician called the owner for guidance. Do you know what the owner of the business said? You'll never guess. He said he would send the $89 invoice to a collections agency! Unless we paid right now! Wow... I've never met a business so hungry for $89 that they're willing to scare off a potential repeat customer at the first visit. Great job, Liberty Air! That's how you win em over! I know they have high reviews here on Yelp, but scroll through and read some of the low ratings before scheduling that call. read more

It breaks my heart to write this. We have used Liberty Air for 10yrs for both our business and home air units. They have always been without issue. I called them out about 4 or 5 days ago and they said he didn't know why it wasn't working but he said there was water in the pan, so the drains maybe needed cleaned. Well, $500 later, it just isn't working. So I call them out again. The second guy catches it within a min literally of being there. He said both our units had hair clogged in both and they really needed done. Well that'll be an additional $900. I was extremely upset. I didn't have the first $500 more less an additional $900. The only thing they offered was not to charge the service fee to come out that second time. I am furious. We have been VERY loyal and we are honest people. I wasn't expecting free $900 worth of work, however to not even admit fault or offer any discount for the work they should've done and caught day 1 day one is unacceptable. I am a small business and when we are in the wrong we make it right. Do not trust these people. read more

They ran into a problem in my house and had to make the attic scuttle bigger to install the unit. They did a nice job in making the new attic opening. Their price was fair compared to others. I spoke with owner and he sent someone good out, the FIRST time. Next time out for yearly maintenance, my tenants told me the tech came out, turned on the HVAC for 5 minutes, then left. Coincidentally, had loads of problems with the unit within a few weeks. Wow, as suggested, I used Yelp's "request a quote" feature late on a Friday and LibertyAIR was so responsive! They wrote back and called the next morning, which was a Saturday of 4th of July weekend! They sent their technician out to High Springs quick - no overtime, no extra Saturday fees. Mark was friendly, efficient, and made suggestions on a plan for repair or purchase for both upstairs and downstairs units. He had all of his data and billing on his iPad, and had us cool within the hour! We will definitely call again and suggest you try them too! read more

I never thought I'd feel good about dropping that amount of cash on a new A/C, but I do after shopping around with multiple estimates, and then experiencing Liberty's first rate customer service. Simple: We were hot. Liberty came. We are now cool! Walked into the house at 7:45 PM and it was in the high 80's and the fan outside was not working and it was blowing hot air. I have an annual contract with Liberty, and I called, spoke with Tracy, and she had her on-call tech here within 30 minutes. Josue Rodriquez was great. Competent and pleasant: what more can you ask for. It's now 9:30 PM and the AC system is working great. Needed to replace the Condenser Fan Motor which was in stock on the truck. Great service! My Mom's A/C was blowing warm air at 4:30 pm on Thurs. and the inside temp was up to 85, so I called LibertyAir based on previous good Yelp reviews. The dispatcher Tracy was extremely helpful and told me that someone could be there within two hours. Josue arrived before 6:30 pm and quickly diagnosed the problem. He called me before proceeding ( as per my instructions to the dispatcher) to discuss the issue, which was a bad contactor. With my approval, he efficiently replaced the part and had the system up and running within the hour. He was very courteous, friendly and thorough, doing a complete check of all system pressures and voltages, and cleaned the condenser coils. He showed me the burned-out part when I arrived. Josue even went above and beyond and offered to install a cleanout "T" for the evaporator drain at no additional charge. Plus, the overall repair charge was very reasonable. Billing and credit card processing was conveniently done on a tablet with the receipts emailed to me. So, excellent service from beginning to end. We will certainly use LibertyAir again, and will recommend them to our friends and neighbors. read more

We had Liberty Air come out Saturday evening to fix our air (blown capacitor). Unfortunately our unit is old and the capacitor was so rusted that it was unreadable. The employee said the best they could do was to call Monday morning and come to fix it then, but then said we wouldn't be charged for the visit because he couldn't do anything. We were desperate given that this is Florida in the Summer. Today we get a phone call saying we owe $82 and the employee was not authorized to say we weren't having to pay and what he SHOULD have said was that we would pay the full amount when they came out to fix it on Monday. This would be fine, except for the fact that Gator Heating and Air came out Saturday at 10PM (after LibertyAir left) and fixed the issue that same night in about 30 minutes by calculating the correct capacitor size. When LibertyAir called to collect this morning they insinuated that Gator Heating and Air didn't do a very good job probably. Considering the fact that they fixed our problem in the same evening I would say they did an awesome job. It's really messed up that they're trash talking to company that went above and beyond to help us in our time of need. That's super unprofessional and leaves a bad taste for me personally. It's poor customer service that LibertyAir doesn't honor promises that their techs make. We are happy to pay if we need to, but if we're told we won't have to pay and then told later we will pay for a diagnostic then we're obviously going to be unhappy. Unfortunately this has colored our perception of LibertyAir and we won't be using them in the future, even when we bid out our entire system redo that will probably be happening in the near future. I know that probably won't matter considering we're just one single family home, but I just wanted to let others know of our interaction with this company. I had an excellent experience with this place. I called them because my power bill went really high and I figured it was something to do with my air-conditioning. I told them it wasn't an emergency but they still fit me in that same day which was great. This guy Jacob came out and he was super knowledgeable, very friendly, professional and was patient and explain to me what he thought was going on, and what my options were to fix it. He was in no hurry and was clearly determined to find out what was up with my AC unit. I had a Freon leak but cannot afford to replace the unit right now and he came up with an economical solution to tide me over until I can afford to get a new unit. So far it is working great. I was so impressed I went ahead and bought a one year service contract with them. I have used others in the past like mid Florida heating and air and McGinn air in Gainesville, which were OK but these guys were awesome. I will certainly use them for my AC needs as long as I live here. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation. read more

The folks at Liberty Air that I worked with were always honest, competent, and professional. My old AC unit was a Magic Chef that somehow kept working since 1983. It finally burned out so it was time for a replacement. I got an estimate on two different models and went with the Trane since it is a better brand name. The company was always responsive and answered all my questions. The install went smoothly with no trouble and they were done on time. They were prepared for the rain with their tent and went ahead anyway. I know at least one other person who got a Trane installed by LibertyAir and they are happy with it too. I was told Liberty Air could fix my unit, but it was old and wouldn't last long. I agreed to replace the entire unit, and was given one price for replacement. The company did come out when they said they would, and replaced the A/C within a week. However, after repeated calls, emails, and even talking to the owner, they refused to tell me how much the A/C unit was that I purchased, and how much they charged me for labor costs. The owner told me the way they charge customers is not something they share with the public. I believe it was very disrespectful of their customers not to share information about what I actually paid for and why they charged me the price they did. In the end, they replaced the A/C and so far it is working, but their practices are dubious. read more

Liberty Air has twice come in and saved the day for us. Once the mother board on our air handler died, and it was 97 degrees outside. They came over the same day we called, and they made sure we had a functioning system until the new part could be ordered. Yesterday after a power outage our thermostat went nuts and thought it was 28 degrees in my house. Because of this, heat was being pumped nonstop while we were out all day. When we came home, it was sweltering inside. We called after school, and they helped me try a system reset over the phone (Thanks Tracy!!). It didn't work, but by dinner time, the broken thermostat was replaced, and the entire system was up and running! A shout out to Jimmy, an awesome and kind technician who always gets the job done. Liberty Air replaced our 20-year old system about a month ago and did a wonderful job. From giving us a thorough evaluation of the existing system and a proposal for a new system, everything was covered. After making our decision regarding what system we wanted, it was handled efficiently and we had an appointment for the new installation within the week. The installers were very courteous and professional then worked from 8:00 am until 5:30 without even stopping for a lunch break. They cleaned up all the debris from the installation. Caution! Liberty likes your money. They want more of it, and they want it now. And I suspect they're willing to lie to get it. We used these guys to replace a blower motor. Liberty said the motor wasn't under warranty, so we paid full price. (We later found out the warranty was still good. Did Liberty pocket the difference?) Of course, they asked us to sign up for their service plan, and we did. (We're naive saps. Desperate for good HVAC service.) Later on, the Liberty guys came out for another service call. They talked me into buying a $500 "board" for the condenser (also "out of warranty"), and they wanted to replace even more ... I finally got suspicious and told them to go home. Later, the company we ultimately found to help us pulled the cover off the condenser and saw Liberty's work: capacitors still in their cardboard boxes, ziptied together, and more absurdities. They asked us if we had used prisoners on a work-release program to do the last repairs. We said no: We used Liberty! read more

We had Liberty Air do an install of a new A/C unit and air handler (mid-level Goodman). Everything seemed good for 2 years but now the unit installed has major issues with multiple coils needing replacement. Parts are covered under warranty but labor isn't. Liberty Air quoted $1500 to fix just one coil (we found an alternative who fixed for 1/2 that price). I won't even contact them about the second coil because their quote will be too high. I'm extremely disappointed in the service and quality of parts used. Liberty Air's high prices are not matched by quality and service. Normally I don't mind paying more for quality service but everything has been far from quality. Please consider other companies. read more

They have a very high level of customer service and I will definitely have them back if I have any other needs. Just a few days after unit was serviced it failed and Liberty Air refused to even look at unit to see what the problem was without charging me another service fee. Difficult to work with and they should have identified and fixed the problems on the first visit. Found another company that fixed and stands by their work.
