Great location, very close to 7 and E trains to Manhattan. Hotel is fine, with recently renovated rooms, heating and A/C that work, etc. Online check-in is very easy and front-desk are very helpful. Also, the shower has great water pressure and temperature. For me, this is what's missing to get to 5 stars: - Wifi does not work reliably. If you need internet, bring a phone that is a hotspot - TV in room doesn't seem to work - I tried the remote and it seemed to hang - Noise travels the hallway absurdly loud. Every spoken word and door opened and closed throughout the night frankly echoes into your room. - Noise from outside also seems to echo into your room If they could add excellent WiFi, and do something to reduce the noice into the rooms from both hallway and externally, I would then rate 5 stars at the economical price I reserved for. read more

My better half and I stayed here for five days visiting family and friends in NYC. Excellent location for quick travel into Manhattan ("the city") and Queens. Ok for travel to Flushing and Brooklyn. Staten Island? What's that . Bronx....um no. The subway station (court square) is serviced by the M, E, G and 7 trains with several bus stops nearby. Complimentary breakfast between 6 am and 10 am of scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes and vegetables, bacon or sausage patty, and really mediocre pancakes is supplemented by coffee, plain oatmeal, juice, bagels with cream cheese and toast and jam was fairly decent but you'll get tired of it with an extended stay. A bunch of cafes, dessert, and diners are nearby, with a trader Joe's, target, and late night Mexican food trucks. Hotel was generally quiet for us but we didn't have construction in or around the hotel. No hot water kettle, coffee maker, or microwave in the room but there is a mini fridge that makes alot of noise. AC in room is noisy at night. There is a four USB port and 3 prong power hub on one nightstand along with a fewer hangers. King size bed was comfortable and rooms are fairly spacious. Bathroom is NYC style, aka small. Bring a hanging amenity bag if possible. Wall mounted soap, shampoo, and conditioner are alright but nothing amazing. Parking available on site for people who want to rent a car. Staff are polite and efficient. There is a bathroom accessible from the lobby. Key card access only at night for added security. Check with your capital one card to see if you can get points or discounts. read more

We made reservation to this hotel months before our cruise and when we showed up early in the morning all we were told to do is wait. With a toddler this is not an easy job. We did our best to get out for a few hours and explore New York in the morning but still when we got back we had to wait another 3 hours just to get our room. On top of that we didn't have a infant bed and it's just a twin sized bed for a child that's only 2 years old. I was stuck sleeping with my child in the same bed. If you want a bed and breakfast and and not so great hotel stay come here. Otherwise avoid it altogether and find something else. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. During my husband's stay on July 17, 2025, he suffered a dangerous fall in his hotel room due to extreme condensation caused by a standard 20-minute shower. With the bathroom fan running and door slightly ajar, the entire room -- floors, walls, furniture, and electronics -- was drenched in moisture. The floor became so slick that my husband slipped and fell on his back. To make matters worse, his MacBook Pro -- which was open and operating at the time -- was ruined by the water damage, rendering it completely inoperable. When we reported this incident at the front desk and directly to management, the response was appalling. Staff openly acknowledged that this level of condensation is "known to occur in guest rooms" and that floors can become dangerously slippery. Their "solution"? Guests should supposedly open windows, crank up the AC, or limit showers to five minutes -- none of which is written anywhere in hotel policies or guest instructions. Despite acknowledging the issue, management refused to accept responsibility for either my husband's injuries or the destruction of his property. We followed up in writing -- twice -- with detailed documentation and even set a clear deadline for response. The hotel has not had the decency to reply. Complete silence. This hotel not only provides unsafe accommodations but also displays a shocking lack of accountability and basic professionalism. Guests should not have to risk injury or property damage from something as routine as taking a shower. The disregard shown by LIC Hotel is unacceptable, and I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to stay elsewhere. read more

I just can't recommend this hotel. I was fooled by the 4.4 google rating and decided to book(nonrefundable). My main issue with this hotel is there is absolutely zero sound insulation. You will hear a pin drop from the other end of the hall. The hour we arrived there happened to be a jackhammer going outside for several hours and it sounded like it was in our room. We were given ear plugs but they did little to nothing. 3-5am loud sex not even from next door- the complete other end. There was a dead roach under the bed. It's NYC I know the deal but I just get the sense these rooms aren't very thoroughly cleaned. My other minor gripe is the vending machine overcharged me. If you put money in and open the flap it assumes it dispensed the item even if it did not. So I was charged half a dozen times for checking if my water came out(it did not). I know it's not totally in control of the hotel. There are just much better options nearby in a similar price range. I will never be back here. read more

Not much shocks me anymore after 16 trips to the city since 2020. But over $300 for an uncleaned room, bad water pressure, and some sullen and unhelpful staff was kind of surprising. First, check-in was a mess-- their link for a safety deposit didn't work, and they kept me waiting on while they had a long text conversation with their manager. Then, the room they gave me turned out not to have been fully cleaned, with mud caked on the floor. They refused to change my room unless I paid an additional $50 for an "upgrade." The paint is peeling, the AC revs every few seconds, and the mattress is really thin and crinkles like plastic when you move. I try not to let these things get to me, but I'm furious-- it is unbelievable how different the room looks from the pictures. read more

Some friends and I visited NY for a concert and ballgame, and I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff was friendly, and the location was very easy to get in and out of the city. We went to Citi Field and Madison Square Garden and both were a short train ride. The WiFi also worked great. I also liked the breakfast which was included. It wasn't the fanciest breakfast, but it was free and the tables and preparation area looked very clean. Lastly, I loved the rooftop terrace (pictured). Really nice views of the skyline and we would hang out there for a few beverages. Would return if I'm in the city. read more

Surprised by the high rating this place has. Location is decent - close to trains and there's a Target, Trader Joe's, and a diner in the neighborhood. So if you're just looking for a place to crash and go, it gets the job done. That said, the beds are hard as a rock (not in a good way), the WiFi is spotty, the breakfast is basic AF, and there's no security during the day (anyone can just walk in and you don't need a key to use the elevators). They offer no flexibility on checkout time and the cleaning staff entered my room while I was still inside five minutes before checkout. Anything more than $150 a night is a ripoff, even during the holidays. You're better off spending an extra $50-$100 a night for a Best Western or Holiday Inn. read more

My boyfriend and I occasionally like to stay in hotels around the city to spice things up. We choose LIC hotel as a weekend tryst location. Pros The water pressure is better than my house. The best I've experienced in any hotel even ones that cost more. The hot water is hot. Real king sized beds w/ 5 pillows . Comfortable computer desk chair. Refrigerator in the room. Complimentary HOT breakfast EVERY MORNING. This was a god send. French toast, bacon, sausage, boiled & scrambled eggs, bagels, cream cheese/butter/jelly, toast, coffee, tea, apple & orange juice. Close to train, clean and the rooftop is open 24 hours. Great place to play cards, chat, read a book, eat or just relax. Cons Wifi was very spotty, often didn't work. House keeping doesn't respect the "do not disturb"sign. Not much place to put luggage. The room door needed to be slammed to close. I left my room door open for a day thinking it was closed. Bed was a little too hard for my taste. Checking in went off without a hitch and I got a great deal on booking.com. So it was definitely cheaper then other hotels in the area. The location isn't nice, the furniture is scratched, the paint is chipping, there is absolutely no attempt at sound proofing to a comical level, and the WiFi doesn't work. Canceled flight led to a desperate search for a hotel near LaGuardia airport. Luckily we found the LIC Hotel close (10 miles) nearby. I consider the hotel to be a European hotel in that the rooms are spartan but very clean with great linens and towels daily . The shower is large and the water is hot. Every morning their breakfast from 6am to 10am provides self service hot coffee, juice, bagels (with available toasters), cereal, yogurt, and best of all a kitchen that provides scrambled eggs (not powdered but real eggs), pancakes, bacon, sausage, potatoes and more. At breakfast the nearby tables are occupied by couples and families speaking many languages. Obviously the LIC is a favorite with world travelers. The hotel is in Queens which proved to be a diverse neighborhood close to a wide variety of restaurants. Uber rides were never more than 2 minutes away to take you to eat or to the City. I give it 4 stars because it does not have all the extras this American is accustomed to. read more

Upon arrival at the hotel and check-in, the women at the front desk began speaking in Spanish to one another about our room. Little did they know I know some Spanish and I understood that both rooms they had available were equally "bad". That already left a bad taste in my mouth. We walked back out of our room which was okay-small bathroom, dirty towels (hair in them and some were stained with what seemed like blood ). Upon walking out, I had a question for the woman at the front desk; however, she was taking a personal call and did not even look up until I told my husband it isn't worth asking her our question. She eventually asked what we needed, but was rude about it. At night when we turned on our air conditioner it made loud noises and we could not sleep with it on. So instead we uncomfortably slept in a warm hotel room. Also, the women at the front gave us the wrong time as to when breakfast began and ended. This hotel had potential, but it's disappointing to see the utter lack of customer service, the lack of cleanliness (dirty towels!!!), and an air conditioner that was super loud. (Also breakfast seemed sketchy-so we didn't actually eat it). All in all, I would not stay here again-ever. read more

My goodness how do we start! Check in was very nice, everyone was very nice. Now our room, crowded, tight feeling like we are one step of being in a hostile! Bed very uncomfortable, sheets stretchy, you'll need to use a pillow near your head so you don't bump your head on the corner of a desk. Blanket on the bed has seen better days, scratchy and looks gross. Walls are thin and you can hear doors slamming towards the stairs. How does the hotel have good ratings??? My partner and I were catfished by their advertised photos on Google and Yelp since our hotel room looks nothing like them. The interior is a lot more dated in person. The mattress springs could be felt when laying in it and is very uncomfortable. My biggest complaint is that we could hear EVERYTHING coming from the hallways, no soundproofing or anything, paper thin walls. I'm sure people passing in the hallways can hear you in your room and we could hear every conversation from guests, snoring guests next door (I get it, they can't help it...but even still), and housekeeping cleaning rooms. So just be VERY conscious of the noise you create in your room and noise traveling through the building since it's echoing off of all hardwood/laminate flooring. I'm writing this review now late in night because you, guessed it, I can hear other guests engaged in sexual activity several rooms away (not just a mere two doors away, but from the OPPOSITE end of the hallway - these weren't pretty moans also...I digress). Been losing so much sleep these last two nights and definitely do not recommend. We complained to the front desk about the noise the first night, but they gave us earplugs that don't work. In general, this hotel is decent. The room is with decent space. We stayed at the two twins bed room. Everything is clean. Bathroom is a bit small especially its sink. Breakfast is included, which is always a plus. Two complaints though. We were assigned a room by the major street which is on the same side as the major entrance. It was very very loud at night every time when a car passed by. It might not be the company's fault but with the situation given, the experience would be so different especially when you can't get a good sleep before you go sightseeing. The window in the room doesn't really block anything. I'd suggest to check in advance, otherwise you will not have a good experience. Almost all their staff was very friendly and helpful, like most of the Yelp reviews. However, there was a lady at the front desk was very impatient about answering questions and showed no concerns or empathy about the loud room they provided. The worst part of this was that she told me all their rooms were booked so no exchange for a new room; but later on the same day, another staff told me there were two available rooms we can switch to if we want. Wasn't really sure what's going on earlier then. My experience made me feel like this hotel is over rated. It doesn't mean they are not a good hotel. I care much about the service, so a rude staff would greatly downgrade my decision. read more

I am extremely satisfied with my recent stay at LIC Hotel from 10/12-10/15. It took me over 2 months to book a hotel I felt was good enough for me, and by good enough I mean clean, affordable and near all landmarks (my first time in NYC). After reading many posts from other hotel reviews I was terrified at the thought of dealing with bed bugs, roaches, rats and just a dirty room overall. Thankfully, LIC Hotel was nothing like it. I had not one issue during my stay. The staff was always friendly. A free breakfast was offered from 6:30 to 10 a.m. every morning. My room/bathroom were spotless clean. Though my room was not the biggest and luxurious, it had everything I needed. The rooftop was simple but offered a great view. At a nearby corner (a block away or so), there is access to the subway which made it easier to get around. I will definitely be returning to this hotel! read more

First, let me be clear that this is not s five-star hotel in the traditional sense. This hotel receives 5 stars because it hits the sweet spot for piece and quality in NYC. First of all, the LIC is clean. Wooden floors, new furnishings, pristine bedding and towels--all make you feel as though you should be paying much more than you are. The rooms are small, of course, but not oppressively so. I can walk around by king size bed, use the toilet without my knees touching the wall, and tuck my suitcase into the corner out of the way. There's a free hot breakfast, with eggs, bacon, sausage, and all the cereals and breads you would expect. No princely, but better than you would expect. The location is not great, being in LIC, but the subway is steps away. There are 4-star cafes and restaurants, and a Dunk and bodegas all within walking distance. Unless you really want to be right in the center of it all--and pay for that!--I can't imagine a better place to stay in NYC. read more

horrible hotel. we missed our flight and we were told by our airline to take a van to the hotel. driver was rude and didn't help us with luggage. it was a hassle to show our transportation/hotel voucher. we had to leave at 5:00 am because there were no other times available for the van to take us and we could not find our transportation voucher. rooms were simple, small, but clean. at 2 a.m., there was drilling in the street, and you could hear everything. My brother and I spent 4 nights here while playing tourist in NY. This place is excellent. The rooms are small but very clean, baths are fine and the shower water pressure is outstanding. The staff (hotel and breakfast) were just the best and the place has a full breakfast like in the old days. Daily room service where beds are made and sheets changed - really - it has been a couple years since we have seen this type of service. Subway is 1 1/2 blocks including the #7 line which runs 24/7. Best to take the E train to Court Square and you are there. This hotel is one subway stop outside of Manhattan and half the cost. read more

We stayed here on Sunday December 12. We needed a last minute hotel for ONE night because of a funeral - we found this hotel online and after reviewing other hotels - this place seemed like the one to go with so we chose a pre-pay option through an online site. Let me tell u - this place is the place to stay!! I'm not going to lie - it is small - don't show up with a week full of luggage- BUT - it has everything necessary and was CLEAN! Even the water pressure in the shower was awesome!!! It comes with a continental breakfast which was perfect!! And ALL the staff was soooooo nice. Parking was only $20 bucks but it's a very small lot and first come first serve so we checked in right at 3pm and walked everywhere for the night. And It's right by the bridge to get into NYC . It was perfect and stress free! We will stay here again! read more

Great value and the lowest prices I could find in the city. Our room was very basic but clean and comfortable. The in-room heater was extremely efficient. Staff was always super friendly. Twice our key cards stopped working for no reason, but staff resolved the issue immediately. Breakfast was included (bagels, toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, granola), not great quality but staff was really friendly and gave us big portions. Tea, coffee, and water available all day. Gym in the basement was very sparse but nice that it was available for use. The rooftop had beautiful views of both Manhattan and Queens at night. They were also very forgiving when we accidentally stayed past checkout. This will be our new go-to place to stay in NYC! read more

I know I live in NY but I stayed here two nights, who said you can't be a tourist in your own city. We arrived and parking could be a bit tricky since this is sort of an industrial area but if you go to the back streets many don't have any street signs so that means no alternative side parking or restrictions on when you can park. I was really impressed by how clean the lobby was and how nice everyone that works at this hotel is. We were created very warm and were even given our room a bit earlier than check in time. We didn't have a great view but that didn't matter to me. Our room was on the second floor and the room was clean, modern and had everything you could need including a mini fridge. The bathroom was plain but I really enjoyed the complimentary toiletries since you could tell they were good quality. I took advantage of the hot breakfast which consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, Cereal, bagels and toast. I really like this location there isn't much to do here but the train is only two blocks away and you will be in midtown in 10 minutes. read more

I and my hubby stayed here for one night in long island city . It was my russian orthodox Easter. The price for a one night stay is really good . The people working at the front desk is really professional and are really helpful and nice . They have private parking which is 20$ a night which isnt bad at all . The rooms are nothing spectacular but at least they are really clean and a nice size room . We got a king size bed and it was really comfortable. I booked two weeks ahead of time to get a really good deal of 115$ a night on expedia . I would suggest to try and it out and see what you think of it . Plus on the 5th floor they have a really nice sky view of NYC . read more

We chose this hotel as it was rated top 10 Hotel in NY in You Tube. We booked a room for our 7 day stay. Our first impression walking in is that it was clean and staff were welcoming,helpful and friendly. We got there before check in and thank God a room was ready. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and rooms are cleaned daily . Breakfast is included with your stay. Good breakfast, only thing I would recommend is a microwave either in the rooms if not then one the guest can use to warm up food. Lastly regarding the dinning room that didn't look good is the tablecloths were never folded so they were placed wrinkled and that was not good presentation. Just a thought. Other than that food was great. They also have washer and dryers for guest to use. Location was perfect, short walk to a corner market and to subway station. Bathroom was a decent size and the shower as well. Positives about this hotel is that it is close to the subway.
