Decent budget boutique hotel with good transit into Manhattan. It's within walking distance to 3 subway stations that can get you many options to get into the city, and it's less than 20mins of train to times square. Check in was smooth and the hotel staff were friendly during our stay. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy at times but we didn't have any issues with the locals. The room itself was pretty small and looks dated. We did have a small private balcony but we didn't really use it. Unfortunately, the walls are pretty thin, so if the next door uses the sink or shower I could hear it very loudly. The price was around $200 CAD a night in Oct 2022. There are many other hotels nearby too if you're looking for better accommodation quality. I highly recommend the location of Long Island City as transit is so convenient and overall much cheaper than trying to find a hotel in Manhattan. read more

I booked through Priceline for $150 a night on a weekend which is a great price seeing that hotels are INSANELY expensive lately. I didn't know what room I'd get until I got there. I got a room with a balcony. That pleased me to no end because, no matter the weather, I like getting fresh air in my room. The neighborhood is fine. Pretty much all hotels and residential. Also, lots of homeless around which makes me believe some of the hotels around there are housing them. Including the Nesva. It's just a few blocks away from Queens Blvd.. Check-in was simple. There's a cute little waiting area with tons of information for tourists before you enter. Past the elevators is a communal room with a microwave, ice, etc. Hotel is fairly small. Only a few floors with about 4 rooms to each. Seemed clean. Elevator was fast. Upon entering the room, I was greeted to the familiar smell of weed. Listen, I won't lie. I indulge in that but I DON'T want the room I'm paying for to reek of it. That's where the balcony came in handy. Opened the door for a bit and the smell left. I must say, the room did not impress me. It disappointed me a lot. Old, dirty rug full of stains and burn holes. Broken smoke detector on the ceiling. Tiny, HARD pillows. Stained sheets with holes. Extra quilt with hair on it. Broken hangers. No USB ports. No lamp. ONE outlet. DEEP tub that's incredibly slippery. Broken sink faucet. Feels like I'm staying in someone's dingy room. No hand towels or washcloths. A balcony with no furniture. What the point?! The only pros are that its quiet, the bathroom seems clean, there is a mini fridge, the bed is comfy and the Queensboro bridge/city view from the balcony. I just feel like I'm gonna go home with some communicable disease after staying here. Look, I know you get what you pay for, but in these times, I don't care what the price point is, IT NEEDS TO BE CLEAN! Would reccomend The Nesva? Not really. Would I come back? Most likely no. Fantastic Hotel with a fresh European flair. I've stayed in several in the area as well as dodged a few horror stories. This place has a very legit and efficient front desk staff. Rooms are very clean however there are a few issues that you might want to prepare for and avoid: ° Make sure you specifically book the type of bed you want and call to confirm. Otherwise you might get a room with 2 twin beds vs. a Queen or King. ° Breakfast is included but the breakfast hour is about 2 hours. ° Check out is at 11am :-( ° TV lineup is decent but not premium. = * Clean room and dinning area. * Our room had a balcony with great view of the city. * Full Bathroom with bath tub. * Adequate room heating. THIS PLACE DESERVES NEGATIVE STARS. I booked four nights at this hotel for business. The first night, I was awoken at 2am to SOMEONE OPENING MY HOTEL ROOM DOOR! I am a young girl staying alone. This person was aggressively trying to open my door, thank god I had the metal lock on. I then call the front desk for the guy at the front desk to say "oh sorry that was me trying to check the empty rooms and I went into your room by accident." NOT OK AND VERY SKETCHY! After that horrible incident, I obviously didn't want to stay there any longer. The manager told me she would refund me for the remaining three nights and barely apologized for the incident. Guess what, a month later and NO REFUND and NO RETURNED PHONE CALLS! Only stay here if you don't mind a weird man trying to enter your room and do god knows what read more

Absolutely ridiculous!!! My wife came to stay for a couple nights but within 10mins or less after being checked in she walked out due to seeing a bedbug. She went to the front desk told them, they stated "oh it looks like a ant or spider" and told her it was ok without even looking at the live photo! She did not feel comfortable there so she told them she wants a refund and proceed to find a different hotel. As for the refund she was told to contact the third party inorder to get her refund.. which she did! Just for the hotel to tell the third party she never arrived at all, so they can't honor the refund...and when I called they did not have a manager on site but was quick to tell the third party false details.. There are cameras in and out the hotel/street, she still has the room key and she has the pictures that show date and time for when she was there. This sleazy hotel has some nerve. She gave this hotel a chance and this is what they do? Absolutely not she will be getting her refund and we will be contacting the manager on Monday and she will be getting her money back!!!! This is not a way to start off a new place that's not even fully built yet! Next time mention you guys are under construction and your customer service sucks!!! read more

This is my first review ever on yelp and i'm doing it for Nesva to show how fully satisfied i am with my stay. (Stayed in a King room with a balcony city view). Several reasons why you should stay at the Nesva hotel: 1. The price is reasonable. 2. Only four rooms on each floor which limits noise and traffic. 3. Very clean bathrooms (first thing i look in a room) 4. Nicely appointed clean room and very comfortable bed compared to "creepy" ones in manhattan. :) 5. Helpful/nice/courteous/friendly front desk staff and diligent housekeepers. 6. The location is maybe just a block and a half away from the nearest subway stop; takes you 10-15 mins to midtown manhattan via N or Q train on the 39th Station. 7. Free Wi-fi in rooms. 8. Refrigerator/flatscreen tv in room. It's clean, clean, clean! I can almost smell the cleanliness! :) Those housekeepers are doing an excellent job! I am not a big breakfast person but if i am this could be a minus, because the nook where they serve it is a tad tiny and the selections are limited. This is a really nice hotel with breathtaking views, especially at night. Its is conveniently located only 4 metro stations from Times Square. Great price for a king bedroom, the room was not very spacious but it was immaculate clean and tidy. The staff were super helpful, they even gave us a pack-and-play to accommodate our one year old to sleep. No rush with checking out, too. On the other hand, breakfast is not very good. No hot food, just continental breakfast with little choice, and besides it ended at 9am, which to me is a little absurd when you are on vacation. The room is very clean and I had a great view with a balcony but a few points they missed. Wanna go on the balcony, you gotta stand, they don't offer any chairs. Speaking of chairs, there aren't any in the room. I would have liked a robe also. Only real complaint is someone (a guest) opened the door to my room about 15 mins after I arrived. I called down to the desk but all she could really do was have the security bring me a new key, which was fine with me. I turned the heat up often, at one point 82 degrees and it NEVER got warm. Love the ambiance of this Boutique Hotel across the Queensboro bridge from Manhattan. It is located two blocks from the Subway that takes you Manhattan and other five boroughs. It surprised me that we were in Manhattan in less than 15 minutes. We looked for hotels in Manhattan and found the prices were 3 to 4 times what we paid and not as nice. The Nesva Hotel was very clean, bathrooms were clean, mini fridge was nice. Everything looked new. Our balcony had great views of the Manhattan skyline. When we first arrived the room was hot but we kicked on the AC and it cooled off quickly. Continental breakfast was decent. We enjoyed our stay at the Nesva Hotel and will definitely return when in New York next time. read more

I was overall not super enthusiastic about my stay here. The room was cute but small. The entire place is very clean and the mail paid a lot of detail to cleaning my room. Breakfast was pretty bad, no hot food and no cream for coffee. Only 1 juice selection and only carbs, yogurt and apples, and 2 types of cereal. It also ends at 9 which is kind of inconvenient. The vending machine also wouldn't take my card and they couldn't make change at the front desk for a $20. I was sent to this kinda sketchy limo place down the road to make change. My friend was staying in the holiday inn next door and it seemed like much better quality with more amenities. One great thing about new a though was the view from my 9th floor room! read more

I am so upset with the service of this hotel. I had to cancel my reservation due to having to go through chemotherapy treatment and being unable to fly, etc. I sent the hotel a note from my Dr. stating that I couldn't travel TWICE and was told by the girl on the phone that the manager would refund my full fee since it was paid in advance. I have sent this hotel a minimum of 10 emails and have called just as many times as well as faxed them and still have NOT received a refund. I don't have the time nor energy to spend my days trying to get a response from them. I guess they are in the business of taking advantage of the sick and keeping their money! Delux room only had twin beds... I'm not 6 years old anymore and a twin bed doesn't quite cut it. A/C Didn't work in my room which made for an awful expirience in my 90 degree room. On a side note the wifi had between 7mb/s and 10mb/s down which is good for a hotel. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our Valentine's day & we very much enjoyed ourselves. The front desk attendant was nice & friendly. Our room was clean, cute and small. We had a king size bed and it was extremely comfy. We had a great view of the queensboro bridge and the Empire State Building. At one point we needed ice and the machine was broken and the front desk attendant went downstairs and got us some heart shaped ice. :) The breakfast in the morning was very intimate. Booked this hotel on booking.com and was surprised of how this little hotel had everything we needed. Beautiful decor, comfortable beds and a great view of the skyline. We booked a king balcony room. The staff were great and answered all out questions and even allowed us to keep our bags checked on our last day so we can go into the city before leaving. There is free breakfast and a nice patio area to enjoy it. This hotel is 2 blocks from the 39th subway station and from there it only takes 10 minutes to reach Times Square. There is also a parking lot across the street at a very reasonable price and a drug store right next door. There are little dinners around the corner where you can grab a quick coffee and something to eat in case you miss the breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel and I will be booking it in the future. read more

I was so nervous about finding a reasonable hotel in NY (I usually stay with friends) but was so pleased with everything about this place! The staff was super friendly, everything about the room was very nice (albeit a little cozy), and the price was super reasonable for NY. It's not in the nicest neighborhood, but I never felt unsafe, and it's very convenient to get to Astoria, LIC, and Manhattan. There were some really fun bars nearby (Dutch Kills!) and it's just 2 stops from all of the yummy places in Astoria. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something with a little less hustle and bustle without having to travel too far from the heart of the city. read more

Very clean hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a mix up where I had paid in advance and was charged a second time upon arrival, but I must say, when I brought this up, the staff immediately apologized and rectified the situation. They were not rude and did not make any assumptions. They were very good about the situation and fixed everything. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate and nice. They have very, very deep bath tubs which my fiance appreciated. It's very close to the subway (2-3 minute walk to 39th st N line). The price was incredibly reasonable especially for the quality of the hotel. There is parking directly across the street for 20$ a night which isn't bad. Parking on the street is metered. Overall, we enjoyed our stay though we generally prefer to stay in Manhattan. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Manhattan by train from this location so this was very convenient. We will definitely go back as long as the prices stay as low as they are here. I definitely recommend this hotel! read more

My 2 adult children, my Daughters boyfriend and I came into NYC for the Baseball All-Star Game in July. Hotels and parking are so expensive in the City that it made me shop around for something a little more reasonable outside of the city. I read favorable reviews on Nesva online so thought I would give it a shot. The choice was a HOME RUN! Every member of the staff was polite and helpful. The rooms were a touch small but very clean and comfortable. Neighborhood is quiet. The location is perfect. Very close to 2 subway stations and 2 great little family diners. I felt safe walking to and from the subway even after midnight. There is a guarded indoor parking garage directly across the street. Parking was $20 a day and the owner Frank was very helpful with directions and tips on things to do and see in NYC. This will be my choice for lodging on all my future trips to NYC.
