The ice cream is great. The Mexican food next to it was awful, plain-tasting and too salty.

Sign in window says No soft serve chocolate. That was ok....since we were wanting Hot Fudge sundaes with vanilla. Oh...we don't have hot fudge. Hmm...ok. Then the girl proceeded to say, the vanilla has to be in a cup because it is not hardening like it's supposed to. But it's ok. We get the cup with flavor burst. I literally could drink it....so soupy... should just have said, no vanilla either. I could understand if it's a one time issue but going on 3 weeks. Best part....being charged $14 just to throw away. Will not go back again.

They mix flavors into a vanilla base using a syrup. The biggest issue is that they've changed management twice. They used to be Tom's ice cream. The new management hasnt quite figured out how to generate all the flavors. The new management is still pretty good though. The vanilla base is still some of the best soft serve I've had. My favorite flavors are peanut butter, cappuccino. To be fair, Tom was a dairy jedi. He set the bar really high. In terms of toppings, their sauce game is also strong. They have hardening, chocolate dips, etc. The peanut butter sauce is homemade and my personal favorite. They also have crush ins for the soft serve like reeses pieces and oreos and hard ice cream. These are good, but definitely not the star of the show.

26 SOFT SERVE FLAVORS…read more The sign screamed out to me as I drove down Route 9W. I've never seen so many flavors!! So excited, I swung the steering wheel to the right, and plowed into their parking lot, smashing into Hole 3 of the mini golf course. Nothing was going to keep me from those 26 flavors. Not this time. Coconut. Apple Pie. Pumpkin. White Chocolate. The list went on. No one has ever seen this many flavors of soft serve before. Never. In plowing into their parking lot, I felt like I might have even tripped through time and space, entering a new dimension, so strange and otherworldly was it to have such a list of soft serve flavors. Where was I? Was I still in Coxsackie? Was I even still alive? Or were those flavors a hallucination, driving me to my own extinction on a mini-golf course. To tell you the truth, I don't know. I don't know if I was alive for the next 30 minutes. The flavors were delivered: Peanut butter and apple pie. But we could not taste them. It was cold, it was wet. It seemed superficially like everything soft serve should be. But there was no taste. Maybe I was never there at all. Maybe I was dead. Maybe I still am.

The previous reviewer was unduly harsh…read more The soft serve was quite high quality, mixed with a bit of custard. We didn't try any exotic flavors, but the standards were good (vanilla, cookies and cream, etc.). They also have non soft serve, and other good treats like hand-made ice cream cookie sandwiches. Our family was in the area for a week, and several return trips were made. If you're around and want ice cream, Tom's won't let you down. I was planning to give it four stars, but my wife and brother-in-law implored me. They both said this was the best soft serve they've ever had.

The walls are painted pink with a few historic pics and classic décor and the linoleum floors are black & white checker pattern, The tables have graphics of historic Coxsackie and metal chairs with cushions. They feature Jane's Ice Cream & sorbet offering around 30 flavors including the whole milk and vegan flavors. Waffle cones, bowls, sundaes, banana splits, shakes, Belgian waffles, coffee, hot chocolate (scratch), cider, and ice cream sammies. They also sell ice cream pints from the freezer. I stopped by Coxsackie Creamery after having brunch nearby. I wanted something to enjoy for dessert and to bring back to the house. Since I am a fan of homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches, I decided to get 4 Ice Cream Sammies ($4.86 each) to go. This was the owner's first go of introducing ice cream sammies. The owner took a while to get things ready and I was able to choose any ice cream I wanted between two chocolate chunk cookies (not vegan), got the vegan ice cream and got 3 pistachio and 1 killer chocolate. The sammies were plastic wrapped and boxed to go. The sammies had thin homemade cookies and the layer of ice cream was ¼ inch thick. I enjoyed two sammies in the vehicle before rushing home in the cold to freeze the other two sammies. The sammies were very, very sweet including the very chewy cookies (not vegan) and vegan ice cream, which melts quicker than regular hardicecream. This is just what I needed for dessert. I would definitely stop by here again for a Belgian waffle topped with ice cream & fruit.

I got the eggplant Parmesan and it was so good. The sauce was well balanced tomato with cheese on top. And the eggplant was crusted beautifully, nice and crispy. It comes with a side of spaghetti and bread. If you order this menu option I highly recommend sharing this with another person. It's definitely a lot for a single serving so come hungry. Another thing I appreciate about this restaurant is that they have a dedicated vegetarian section of the menu. For those who don't eat meat, they got you covered. It can get a little crowded during rush dinner time but you shouldn't have a problem getting a seat. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. Best Italian food in the local area.

They have several special offerings weekly like this for a great deal (meat loaf, chicken parm, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, etc.) you get a lot for your money; the ziti could have easily fed 8, which is great and you get a large Italian bread for $3 more. The whole meal was less than $30. Staff were very friendly at pickup. Although the food is really warm we reheated it in the oven to get that nice cheese melt again. The bread had a nice crispy crust and soft center, perfect with some butter and sauce. I really enjoyed the ziti and looking for to try something new on my next visit to the area.

For mains my guests had the fried sampler platter, broiled and cajuned shrimp and scallops, and I had the prime rib added scallops at $3 each. My prime rib was tasty and substantial but the temperature was just warm, not hot, and therefore had to be sent back. Once corrected the meal was great. Scallops were small but they gave me double the amount at the same price because of the size. The sides were mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts which were seasoned well and tasted great. Sprouts were tender but not mushy. Potatoes were tasty with a good intentional lumpiness that I appreciated. Also tried the lavender lemonade mocktail which was delicious. Decided against adding the one pound of King Crab as the market price was $99 and I can get a bag of two pounds for $70. We didn't do dessert but will next time were in the area because the slices of chocolate cake we saw were HUGE and the varieties looked scrumptious. Service was pleasant although there was a long block of time after we received our food where we were looking for the waitress so we could pay. The busser ended up pitching in. Overall, great food and service with older, living room vibe decor. Would recommend!
