Amazing. Cream Puffs are phenomenal. Other pastries are also very good. A true gem. Go. Now. But cash only.

Opened in June 2023, Coxsackie Creamery is a cute locally owned ice parlor located on Reed Street…read morein Coxsackie. The walls are painted pink with a few historic pics and classic décor and the linoleum floors are black & white checker pattern, The tables have graphics of historic Coxsackie and metal chairs with cushions. They feature Jane's Ice Cream & sorbet offering around 30 flavors including the whole milk and vegan flavors. Waffle cones, bowls, sundaes, banana splits, shakes, Belgian waffles, coffee, hot chocolate (scratch), cider, and ice cream sammies. They also sell ice cream pints from the freezer. I stopped by Coxsackie Creamery after having brunch nearby. I wanted something to enjoy for dessert and to bring back to the house. Since I am a fan of homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches, I decided to get 4 Ice Cream Sammies ($4.86 each) to go. This was the owner's first go of introducing ice cream sammies. The owner took a while to get things ready and I was able to choose any ice cream I wanted between two chocolate chunk cookies (not vegan), got the vegan ice cream and got 3 pistachio and 1 killer chocolate. The sammies were plastic wrapped and boxed to go. The sammies had thin homemade cookies and the layer of ice cream was ¼ inch thick. I enjoyed two sammies in the vehicle before rushing home in the cold to freeze the other two sammies. The sammies were very, very sweet including the very chewy cookies (not vegan) and vegan ice cream, which melts quicker than regular hardicecream. This is just what I needed for dessert. I would definitely stop by here again for a Belgian waffle topped with ice cream & fruit.

Sign in window says No soft serve chocolate. That was ok....since we were wanting Hot Fudge sundaes with vanilla. Oh...we don't have hot fudge. Hmm...ok. Then the girl proceeded to say, the vanilla has to be in a cup because it is not hardening like it's supposed to. But it's ok. We get the cup with flavor burst. I literally could drink it....so soupy... should just have said, no vanilla either. I could understand if it's a one time issue but going on 3 weeks. Best part....being charged $14 just to throw away. Will not go back again.

They mix flavors into a vanilla base using a syrup. The biggest issue is that they've changed management twice. They used to be Tom's ice cream. The new management hasnt quite figured out how to generate all the flavors. The new management is still pretty good though. The vanilla base is still some of the best soft serve I've had. My favorite flavors are peanut butter, cappuccino. To be fair, Tom was a dairy jedi. He set the bar really high. In terms of toppings, their sauce game is also strong. They have hardening, chocolate dips, etc. The peanut butter sauce is homemade and my personal favorite. They also have crush ins for the soft serve like reeses pieces and oreos and hard ice cream. These are good, but definitely not the star of the show.

The bread will go home with us. The pizza is for dinner. Each pizza would probably serve one adult man and are absolutely delicious. Cooking instructions are on the wrap - put them right on the rack. Crispy crust has plenty of air pockets to keep it light with a good chew. The BBQ onion is sweet. The roasted garlic had a bunch of garlic scattered all over. Lots of cheese on both. The last pizza, roasted red pepper, will be for another day. They had about five pre-made frozen pizza options when we visited. If you prefer, call ahead and they will build one fresh to your liking for you to pick up and bake at home. The interior shopping area is small. By the register is a pastry display case with the most enormous stuffed croissants, scones, cookies and other sweet treats. Behind that is a display of fresh breads. On a rack by the door are bagged bread goods. Freezer and refrigerator cases are along the wall. If I lived around here I would without a doubt be a regular customer and try all their offerings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cozy seating area by the front door to enjoy your purchases on site. Big parking lot.

Peach and Ginger also a Double Chocolate muffin. Delicious. The down side was the very unprofessional attitude of the server behind the counter. We wanted fresh coffee and she actually lied to us about that, instead the coffee urn was mostly empty and not fresh. As for the Housatonic location we ordered some fabulous Almond Croissants and Baguette and San Francisco Bread loaf. Whoa delicious. The woman serving us was outstanding and her very professional attitude was a relief compared to their Pittsfield experience we had. Thank you!
