This is a review just based on the quote they gave me and on follow up after the quote. I'm still waiting to hear back from them and it's been about 2 weeks. They were almost half price the average bid for a new roof. Most bids that I have received give a very detailed list of the shingles that are used, the underlayment which is the water barrier that goes under the shingles, the venting system, the permits that are needed, and the cleanup and other related issues. All the bid said was a new roof. What does that mean exactly? Well that sounds good, there was no detail as to what would be provided for a new roof. To get that low of the price they have to cut corners somewhere. I requested a more detailed quote and I've not heard back from them yet. My mom needed to having the roof fixed and didn't know where to look. I went to yelp and found Lico roofing. They are awesome and very honest. Other companies from this site estimated the roof and it was recommended to completely remove and install a new roof, which cost a lot. Lico estimated the roof and said that the roof is still in good shape and only needs to be upgraded and not replaced for 1/3 the cost of the estimate of a new roof. Thought I needed a new roof her in Hollister so I contacted Licos roofing since they have great reviews on yelp. Federico the owner came out to take a look at my roof. He has got to be one of the most honest guy's in the business. I was almost certain I needed the roof and he informed me that I still had at least 5 years left on the roof and that I did not need to put money into it at the time. Federico and his team recently replaced our roof and installed a new skylight, and we're very happy with the final result. I was referred to Lico's roofing from our friend/neighbor who is a contractor, and he told us that Federico and his team had done several re-roofing projects for him and that they are honest, competitively priced, and do great work. After just having our roof replaced, I have to say he was exactly right about that. Federico seemed very friendly, professional, and straightfoward with the inspection and estimate during the initial visit, there was no pressure. He advised having a ridgevent system installed to push hot air out of the attic to keep the house cooler, and we decided to go with that and have a small tubular skylight installed in our bathroom. During the re-roof he kept me informed of the progress, and he invited me to check out the roof after the teardown of the old shingles to see the condition of the wood underneath. I could obviously see many of wood planks on the roof were not very strong and were in poor condition. I said I wanted the roof stronger and straighter and he advised adding new plywood instead of replacing some old planks, which turned out to be a great idea. He was able to act quickly to those changes and delay the shingle delivery and quickly get a delivery of plywood at a great price. The roof came out great and I know we got it for a fantastic price from the other quotes I received. The crew also did a good job cleaning up around the house after the roof was completed. I'd highly recommend their work to anyone looking to have their roof replaced. read more
