    Yafa Halal Market, Charlotte
    Bruce K.

All sorts of interesting imported items here and I'm glad to see that the Charlotte area is attracting more and more people to our metropolis. I'm not a halal eater but I enjoy interesting and unique items. Lots of that here for sure. Canned goods, candies, nuts, sauces, spices, fresh vegetables, a butcher counter and more. Teas, frozen items, fresh breads and more. Prices were a little high but this is stuff that you definitely won't find in the ALDI across the parking lot or the Food Lion down the street. Friendly service, too! I grabbed a few of those unique items and will be looking forward to an interesting dinner today. And my wife loved the package of organic pitted dates I brought home! Barbican Pom flavor. Oh so good, and has not changed a bit since I was a child.

My goodness, where do I even start? Upon walking into the store I was greeted by a very friendly employee who was a very pleasant gentleman. We had a lovely exchange in which we talked about our childhoods and our specific cultures both having been from Arab communities. I walked up and down every aisle of the store and looked at every product they have very carefully and I will tell you that they have one of the finest selections that you're going to find in this area if you were looking for childhood Arabic food favorites. This place literally just slaps so hard! They have Halal meat, they have an incredible range of products from every Arabic speaking nation on the planet. If you grew up with Middle Eastern food or you are a Middle Eastern food enthusiast, this market is your go to for all things authentically halal and Middle Eastern.

A quiet store in a sleepy shopping center...but don't pass it by! Stop in, look around, and you'll find fresh spices, freezers full of items, and friendly employees. There is talk about making part of this a cafe, but right now, they only sell some fresh baklava and cookies from a Turkish bakery. Some of my favorite items are olives in the back, bags of mixed nuts in the front, and lots of bags of rice or spices. If you need a hookah or Middle Eastern wall decor, they have that here too. I'm glad I found this store, I'll be back to stock up whenever Arabic cuisine is on the menu at my house!

Prices are too high. Probably because no other Halal meat store is near them. I don't plan on going there again unless I'm desperate.

You can buy rubs, marinades, salads, sides, bread, rolls, desserts, etc. They also have frozen wild game if that is what you are into. It was unfortunate that half their store did not have power as we were not able to see any of the meat or fish on display. iI was ok we were not able to hand select our steaks or fish - the store has such a great reputation we were not too worried about what we would end up with. We decided to order 4 prime marinated NY strip and 2 tuna steaks. They make theur own naribade so we had to try it. We also wanted to try one of frozen pre-made meals so we chose the sausage and pasta with vodka sauce. While in line to checkout we saw more than a few people with trays of cinnamon buns so we had to try them as well. This is a summery of our purchased food:. The cinnamon rolls were grainy. Not smooth. I think they were old (I had to pull them from the back). The steaks had a great flavor as the marinade was really good. Three of the 4 steaks were over cooked because we were given 4 different sized steaks. 2 got burnt the third was well done....$60 wasted. The tuna was good but again they gave us one large steak and one thinner one so the smaller was was dry....another $15 wasted. If I can make any suggestion....do not make a purchase without seeing what you are buying. $136.00 later I can say I was disappointed because of the unevenness it was cooked improperly. 4 stars because the cook is partially to blame. 3 stars otherwise. The sales person is the first person that should know better than to sell meat and fish the way they did. Ruined my Christmas meal. Only 1 of us ate. :(

Since I thought they were out, I ordered something else. Instead of just preparing my "backup" sandwich, the gentleman working there surprised me and went above and beyond by making a fresh batch just so I could have the sandwich I wanted. Not to mention this was during the lunch rush. That kind of service is incredibly rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their customers. The Pollo sandwich was absolutely delicious. I have been wanting to try it and I'm so glad I did! I highly recommend Ferrucci's to anyone looking for authentic Italian food and genuine hospitality!

Find another case with a variety of steaks ready to be cut - ribeye and NY strip were just a few examples. The cases have oils and spices to enhance your cooking. At lunchtime on Saturday there was a line to order sandwiches but it moved pretty quickly. The meats, peppers, seasoning, and bread far surpass anything you'd get at a chain sub shop. Half a sandwich filled me up which meant I got to enjoy the rest for lunch the next day. Between cold cuts, paninis, and hot sandwiches there are a variety of sandwich options. Grab one of the tables inside or sit at a table on the sidewalk on a nice day and enjoy a great lunch at Ferrucci's.

I'd been searching for a good meat market that sells items like oxtails and pig feet, and I came across this place on TikTok. It reminded me of the local meat markets back home in Houston, and I really wanted to find a Black-owned spot with that same feel. This was exactly it. I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a fancy, Whole Foods-type place. It's an older, traditional meat market, and that's exactly the vibe I was looking for. Parking is on the side, and the entrance is right off the street. Inside, the meat counter is in the back. Customer service was great. I went the day after Thanksgiving, so it wasn't busy at all. I came looking for pig feet, and the staff was quick, helpful, and friendly. They usually have pig feet pre-packaged and priced, but they were out, so the butcher grabbed fresh ones and cut them exactly how I wanted (longways), wrapped them up, and sent me on my way. They accept Apple Pay, which is always a plus, and they offer text or printed receipts. Prices were reasonable, and overall it was a cool meat market with good service. I'll definitely be going back for my meats.

On a previous…read morevisit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found The Smoke Pit when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Since they are in the same building, we also discovered The Stock Market. We love the restaurant so much and returned on this trip to the area, so we also made a return trip to the butcher shop this time around. The Stock Market is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. Just note that the hours for the store differ from the restaurant, with the store closing earlier. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. There is usually a lot of action in the area due to the restaurant, but the market portion has never been overwhelmingly crowded when I have visited. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons to the correct side of the building for the market. After you enter on the right side of the building, you walk right into the store. This shop is definitely a true butcher shop. There are so many different types and cuts of meat. Fresh, frozen, shelf-stable, and more varieties await you. There are other select grocery items, but you would not be able to complete all of your typical grocery shopping at this one store. They also sell bones and specific items for dogs. We bought our dog a bone, and he loved it! As stated, there are fresh and frozen meat options available. The selection is great, and you are able to find a lot of different types and cuts not typically available in a traditional grocery store. Most of the meat seems to be prepared in-house, but there are also some name-brand items throughout (such as for sausage). There are a lot of options already on the shelves, but I would assume if you were looking for something specific that it could be cut and packaged right there. In the back, there is a fresh meat counter where you can pick your exact weight and have it packed right there. A deli counter is beside it, offering lunch meats and cheeses. It did not look like they produce their own lunch meats, but it is an option if you are in the store. There were also some hot, ready-to-eat items in this area too. There are signs hanging advertising the different bundles that you can buy. There is a Chicken Bundle, Beef Bundle, and Pork Bundle, which all contain 5 different varieties of the respective meat. The total weight is around 25 pounds per bundle. The Variety Bundle allows you to mix and match 5 different types of meat, each in 5 pound increments. This would be a nice way to try different types and cuts of meat or to stock up your freezer. The prices here are decent and comparable to any other meat store. They had a deal on select packages that you could mix and match to get 5 packages for $29.99, presumably presenting some savings. There was also a discount freezer in the rear of the store with items marked down to half off. Though, for the quality of meat and vast selection, the prices here are not too bad. Each time I have visited the store, the staff has been kind and helpful. There are cashiers up front, as well as deli and counter staff in the back ready to serve the customers coming in. We have enjoyed stopping into The Stock Market when we find ourselves eating at The Smoke Pit. It is a nice butcher shop with a good amount of variety and fresh items. The prices are fair, and all of the staff is friendly. Would recommend giving this spot a try if you are local to the area!

They offer larger packages that I certainly will try in the future.
