I'm sorry this is about the quality of the shirt. I actually bought it online so I don't know about the store experience. I washed the shirt once, inside out, in cold water. Line dried it (hung inside the house, not actually out in the sun). You can see from the pictures that the writing is already rubbing off, especially on the back. Definitely not worth the money. read more

Bought a last minute Christmas gift here that was almost impossible to find anywhere else. They had what I was looking for in stock and held it for me. I went yesterday purchased a hat, I called later that day about returning it but the guy milk didn't give me my receipt or tags to the hat he told me to just come in the next day and return it he'll look up my receipt. The next day comes now it's a different rep name Mel, she tells me she can't return it bc of the brim being bent. When the guy milk NEVER said anything on the phone, he is the one who did it himself. Btw it was slightly crooked, I saw him using a container to shape it. So I didn't like how it was done. Overall the manager Leo tells Mel that they can't return it when me as the customer called prior was told I am able to, to get a different rep tell me different things. Literally wasting my time giving me the run around. Customer service here is a joke employees aren't taught correctly by management. Mel thought she can make me feel dumb but milk already told me different thing from her. Everyone should be on the same page not different chapters. Never coming here again. read more

Unfortunately the size was too big but the lady handled my return without issues. Smooth experience! Also, hats are freely available for any to test fit. This was by far the worst experience I've had at Lids. I've been a rewards member here for over 10 years and buy plenty of hats monthly, but this was my first time at this location. I wasn't acknowledged in the store at all when walking in. The guy named Assad or Ashad that created the custom hats was very unprofessional (didn't want to look at the design I wanted and automatically assumed he knew what I was talking about while trying to show him an image which led him to printing the wrong colors and design on my hat just because it was "shown on the computer that way") it was not what was requested or on my custom sheet that I filled out with the cashier. I also had to wait for his help while he was inappropriately showing PDA with another customer at the store. He also brushed my partner off when they tried to explain a custom design they wanted as well. This store also claims to not have change if paying with cash & makes you round up the cost and called it a "donation". I've never experienced that at a retail store. Sounds super sketchy. I called to complain to the manager named Andrew and he literally rushed me off of the phone and said "I doubt we messed up that bad" yet the design was not what I requested, therefore they messed up. They over charged for special threading on the wrong colors which I didn't request. Did not offer a refund or discount after returning to the store to address the issue, and just were overall very rude and unprofessional at this location. I advise you save your time and money and just visit other Lids locations for sure. read more

If I could give no stars to store 5091 in the Montclair place, I would, because my experience here was awful, manager Brett was rude and completely ignored me the entire 20 mins I was looking at hats, he then saw me walk to the counter stood there for 2 minute and continued folding shirts, I was the only customer in the store, he was very aggressive in his actions, banging on the keyboard like a cave man to enter my number, after reading all the reviews I wish o never came here. So I went to this store on 03/06/2020 around 11 am to get a custom embroidered cap. I was told by the guy working there that their embroiderer wouldn't be in until 1215. So I picked the hat that I wanted and went to get some coffee. The guy got there and I went in to get my cap done. He asked what I wanted put on the cap and I told him TRUMP 2020 on the front and 45 on the back. He looked shocked and said that they can't do political statements. I told him it's not a political statement it's me showing support for our president. He just kept saying they can't do political statements. It was obvious the why reason he wouldn't make the cap. So I walked out and called their corporate " customer care " and explained what had happened. She told me " he shouldn't have said that because their policy is they can't do anything that is copyright. So I asked her if they would do just 2020 again she said that they can't do anything that is under a copyright. WTF! Since when is a number under a copyright? So I then asked her if I could go into the store and have LA put on a Blue hat and she said "yes".. WHAT? I told her isn't LA under copyright by the Dodgers? Then she tells me that I can get TRUMP 2020 on a hat as long as I get written permission from the Trump administration.. It is very clear that this is a liberal company that doesn't support our president, proof by the conflicting reasons given. Good selection of hats, from major brand names too. The workers couldn't care less about being there though, but at least they did their jobs. There must be an issue with the clientele too, as most of the hats are tied down, and to try one on, you'll have to get someone to cut the ties. I'm used to just grabbing a hat to try on. Went in earlier today looking for a couple of 49ers hats. Wasn't too sure what size I wore. The worker there (I think his name was Ryan or Ryley) was super helpful with helping me find a hat and size. A lot of the hats fit funny, but the worker explained to me that once it's broken in and you bend the pull a little if feels completely different and fits better. Overall good experience. Pretty much all lids are cramped so you can't really knock this store for that, if anything it's a bit bigger than the average lids. Every time I come the staff have been nothing but helpful, & even recommended I sign up for their Premium access pass, which in incredibly grateful they did. It only costs $5 annually & saves you 20% literally one hat purchase saves you more than what it costs. I would definitely recommend getting the membership & specifically coming to this lids if you like to buy a lot of hats like I do. read more

Honestly. I came here because my boyfriend loves hats and his birthday is a couple days before Valentine's Day. I placed this order DECEMBER 29,2021 and I still haven't gotten a call about it. I've called and nobody answers. Finally the district manager answer cause he happen to be in the store that day he said he would figure it out and that I would be contacted. That was Tuesday. Wednesday I get a phone call and the manager is the one who called me asking to verify the hat so I can still get it. I told her I couldn't go in that day because I was actually getting ready for work. She said I could come in today which is Thursday the 27th and my hat would be ready to pick up all I had to do was give them my name and I would be able to receive it. I guess the joke was on me because it still wasn't ready. The guy was nice asked for 15 minutes I said no problem went to eat in the food court. I actually took about 45 minutes cause I was eating. I went back and the machine had broke down and They had to wait for the manager to come in ,who had told me she was going to be there from 11-7, to fix and I should get a call by 2-3pm. It's 6:05 I've heard nothing I've called the store 17 times and nobody has answered. I've never been so unhappy to spend almost $80 and a month later and for me to still not have what I ordered. read more

At lids was waiting to come in and were told to wait in line, at the same time two fed ex guys come right through and I noticed they are purchasing hats not delivering, the manager went to the back and grab their orders. Then the sign reads 6 customers at a time, there were only 3 customers and 3 employees, when I asked the employees they said to wait, the manager said he changes the policy pretty much when he wants to. Why are all Lids so cramped? This location is a tad less cramped than the Ontario Mills one so that's nice, but despite having visited the store on multiple occasions, I can recall actually buying something only once. Now the cashier was nice and I signed up for the Lids membership card (which didn't really come in handy for me, as I had hoped), but you get a 20% off. Anyways, nothing particularly interesting to me at this store... They didn't have many caps with the regular bill for my teams. I could only find the snapbacks and fitted flat bill caps, which I understand is pretty much the point of the store. Overall... Meh. read more

My husband and I had given our son a Dodgers hat from Lids for Christmas. He wasn't sure if it was the right size or if he wanted a different team so I gave him the gift receipt and we went to the Lids store in Montclair, CA. He ended up choosing to get a different team hat which was cheaper than the one we had purchased. The employee said that we could do the exchange and just lose the difference in the cost (which was around $4.00) or he could get an autographed version of the hat and pay an additional $6.40. I asked him why we couldn't just get the difference in cash or store credit and he said it was because we had a gift receipt. I have never heard of a gift receipt being worth less than an original receipt. I feel like the store was dishonest and was just trying to get us to spend more money. I looked on their website and didn't see anything that said a gift receipt wasn't worth the same as a regular receipt. Buyers be ware that this store doesn't honor gift receipts in the same way they honor a regular receipt. I will not be shopping here again. read more

Terrible customer service. I dropped off a hat to get embroidered on a Thursday afternoon, they tell me the hat will be ready the same day or latest the next day. I call the next day which is Friday to see if it is ready and the employee who answers states that the hat isn't ready and that there are 6-7 hats in front of it and that someone would call once it's ready, which is the same amount as prior when dropped off. I let him know I was told it was already supposed to be ready or ready at latest by that day and his response to me was "that's awesome". They then go the whole weekend without reaching out (which was when the hat was needed for) so I reach out on Monday and ask if it's ready and they check and it is still not ready but that it will be ready in an hour. This was at 2pm Monday and I show up four hours later and the hat is still not ready. They tell me to wait 15 mins for it to be done and I still have to wait over an hour in the store for it to be ready. The person working on the hat was asking me what colors and what info, they just have lost the initial paperwork where that was already agreed upon and written on. If you're looking to get your hat embroidered here, expect to wait several days and them not care about your experience or needs with your items. read more

TERRIBLE customer service was given on Friday 12/31/14. My daughters received 2 hats in the wrong sizes so we went WITH our receipt to exchange for correct sizes. The employee advises that they didn't have their sizes however she couldn't tell us when they would have them nor could she tell us if other stores had them.. it seemed as though I was annoying her by asking to check with other stores. Now I am stuck with 2 hats that my daughters cant use. She did not go out of her way to help me at all .. she made me feel like I was wasting her time & the store was not even busy. You must be joking!, wow, my head is spinning with the level of incompetence and terrible business practices. I paid them to make me some custom hats and I'm still waiting 18 days later to pick up the hats they had to order because they butchered the ones I brought them to customize, only to find out that the ones that were on order were sent back because they were dirty? And of course no one re- ordered them or called me, I'm STILL waiting for a call back from their automated "customer care line", should be customer DON'T care line. Now I'm told the best the can do is re order them ( at a 7-10 day wait AGAIN), and a $20 gift certificate. Ha ha not exactly the way to make things "good" after dropping the ball like that. I've called over there 10 times and couldn't get an answer or even a callback. I'd do better driving to the manufacturing plant myself. I can get them to my house in 3 days from their own business.
