Whether you are a tequila/mezcal scholar or brand new, Mickey weaves history, technique, voluminous knowledge of the world of agave farming, markets spirits production process and stories deftly and authentically, and you will be transported. Our non-drinking teenage daughter also attended and really enjoyed the night. One of the most authentic travel experiences we have ever had in many trips around the world. Until then, everything we asked for was possible (traveling by air conditioned van for the day to multiple tastings for Tequilla aficionados and discovering lots of small, unknown brands). That day, a tour guide who has not heard of any of this shows up in her own compact, no air conditioning car. She knew nothing about what we had been told. It was frustrating- we traveled from the US for this special birthday celebration and what was promised should have been delivered. No amount was deducted from the bill for any of this, Mickey couldn't care less once he had received the fee about anything else. Disappointing.

This allowed each of us to get to know the horse we were going to ride for a couple of hours. Helmets were provided which was awesome as we had two teens in the group. The nature and beauty of the trails was beyond compare. It is truly a wonderful tour and at no time did I fee worried or concerned for our safety. Stephanie was wonderful and a delight and Carlos was quick and extremely helpful if there was a horse not minding. I highly recommend this horseback excursion -- great for all ages and abilities. Plus we got a good lesson on farm life !! We will be checking in about 11 months !

The owners have made this place a cozy and beautifully decorated and landscaped resort. Each cabin is named after a type of flower planted at the site and a painting of the blooming flower is on the walls of the cabins. They are different types of cabins to accommodate big families and they all have fireplaces and kitchens and some jacuzzi tubs and patios. There is no restaurant available at the resort but the town is about 1 mile away with plenty of restaurants for dining. There are plenty of activities to do in and around the town like shopping, zip lining, horseback riding, atvs and hiking. If you want a different kind of experience in Mexico I highly recommend Villa los Cipreses to stay in Mazamitla, Jalisco!
