After many years of blindly going to this farm we made reservations for our 2 year olds birthday party weeks in advance. Due to weather advisory of winds up to 70mph, it would not be appropriate or safe to have a 2 year olds birthday party outside. After speaking with Heather Liepold they will NOT offer any refunds until hours before the party if they close. After voicing my concern for the safety of the kids and the difficulty of having to change venues hours before the owners of the farm refused to work with us and actually hung the phone up on me while making very sarcastic responses. Since they would not provide a refund I tried to AT LEAST get the tickets for the farm activities to pass out to the kids to use at a later date. They said NO. They could only be used the day of the party. The owners then text us 3 hours before the party saying they could NOT guarantee they would be open. At this point offered a refund. Posted pic shows the service they provide and the way they talk to their customers. There was a safety advisory due to the weather days before the event that was for 2 year old toddlers. Many companies had taken preventative measures and closed, roads were closed, and people were preparing for power outages. It wasn't just bad weather, it was a safety advisory for a storm that was predicted to be one of the worst storms to hit the northwest in years. These people expected us to have our children outside up until hours before THEY decided not to open just to make a buck? With so many wonderful family owned farms in Oregon ranging from Boring, Damascus, Oregon City, Estacada, Sauvie Island, there is no reason why anyone should support a farm like this with owners like this. They pose as a family farm butjust cthat want to take money anyway they can. Please everyone support other local family farms that care about their communities and the families that support them. We have come to this farm for probably 18 years this year when we arrived they were charging $20 per person which for a family our size that would have been $100 just to get in. Way to expensive so we left and went to Kirchem Farm about 10 minutes away. Had a fantastic time and only a 10.00 charge per car load. Free hay rides .... Family ran and so pleasant. read more

Holy admission fee, Batman! I can't speak to the attractions--there was no way to preview them to see if they were worth the $35 it would cost my daughter and I would have to pay. The general admission fee was $5, which might've been reasonable, but from the looks of it, the $5/pp got you into the gates to spend more money on stuff inside. Very cute farm, with beautiful landscape and decorations. The variety of pumpkins was great, as was the cute photo props throughout. Signage for activities and admission with prices was a white board that was half wiped away, over priced, customer service was decent, and pumpkin check out process was a bit overly complicated. read more

Great ciders and and an awesome place to spend a few hours with the kids. We spent about 3 hours going through the sunflower festival, having a cider tasting, and eating. Perfect way to burn some energy letting the kids run around. We will be back. read more

I went to the sunflower festival today and could not be more disappointed. $15 per person advance tickets for this is insane. A short tractor ride, a dead flower bloom. The website advertised farm animals and a sunflower maze there were either instead there was a huge bike race going on kicking up dust and making walking around with my toddler extremely difficult, at times unsafe and frustrating. Planning these two events the same weekend is poor planning to same the least. Majorly disappointed and still trying to figure out what exactly we paid for. read more

We actually only came to pick pumpkins and their selection was very good. But everything costs something. The website prices were a bit different than the posted prices. My kids wanted to do the corn maze and it was $8 for kids and $10 for adults. We had lunch here - hot dog = $3 and corn dog =$3 and bottle of water =$2. Considering that we went on a Thursday afternoon, there weren't any crowds and plenty of parking. They had a kid zone but then you had to pay for it. We have been to most of the pumpkin patches in the area and feel this one is the best for little kids if you like interactive games and rides. The pumpkin area is smaller than some and lines can get long but we love the covered kids area ideal for toddlers up to 7 or 8 yr olds. read more

Great experience. One of the kindest moments I've had in a bit. My wife, child and I were waiting in line. A staff person was asking if people had bought tickets online(evidently quicker way in). She noticed I was wearing a EMS related coat and diverted us to the fine folks at Country Financial. They gave myself and family first responder bracelets. This gave us access to everything except the bumble bee cars and a few pumpkins. It truly means a lot when the events give back to the 911 folk that work in their county. The corn maze was a nice one with bail out exits if you get lost. The hay ride was great with better visuals then in the past. Loads of sunflowers as well. Ran into the wall in the dark maze. Didn't have time for grub but looked like they had ample good eats. A great fall time event for the family. Get there before the coldly muddy days arrive. Many thanks to Liepold farms. read more

More than 10 dollars for a half-hearted face painting for a 5 year old? No thanks. Quarter-mile line in the hot sun to pay too much for a bruised pumpkin also did not sound like fun. I wish I had been in the mood to pay too much for beer, that might have made the long waits worth it, assuming you could drink your beer in line, which you cant. read more

This was a tough one for my husband and I. We both have truly enjoyed Liepold Farms in the past two years--we are not experts in "pumpkin patching". The rating truly falls between a 3.5 and 4. What we have found to enjoy at Liepold's are the variety of attractions for the little littles to the grown kids in the family. We return for the produce catapult (last year was mini pumpkins and this year it was apples), the kid's pavilion for our 2 year old, the corn maze (this years "Dead End Challenge" was very enjoyable) and the pumpkin patch of course. Liepold's can boast of its cleanliness, festive farm charm and very friendly staff--we have had no negative staff encounters. Liepold's also offers plenty of photo opportunities with photo stand ins, large hay bail spiders and pumpkins, general access to staged farm equipment and Flinstone themed sets. Where Liepold's loses a star to a star and a half is the food and maze pricing, the quality of the more "affordable" food and the crowd that accumulates in the late morning hours (i.e., 10:15/10:30) relative to the quaintness of Liepold's fall festival venue. Last year we did not have the opportunity to try the food but this year we ended our ventures around the early lunch hour so we thought we would give it a try. We were pretty surprised by the BBQ pit pricing--9.00 to 9.50 for a pulled meat (chicken or pork) sandwich. Disappointed (the BBQ smelled glorious), we had to opt for the "affordable" food due to our dwindling budget from paying a base price of $8 for 2 adults and $6 for our 2 year old to access the maze with $1 added to the adult tickets for the "Dead End" challenge, $16 for 1 small pumpkin and 2 medium pumpkins, $1 for the kid catapult and $2 for the kids pavilion. Please note we are not expecting "amazing" quality when ordering a corn dog--this is not lost on us. We ended up being able to afford 2 corn dogs and the "free"popcorn (both regular and caramel) offered for completing the "Dead End" challenge. With my parents also in the same budget boat, they ordered a corn dog and the philly steak sandwich. We all overwhelmingly labeled the food we purchased as "bad" (including the stale or burnt popcorn). There did not seem to be any redeeming qualities in the food we ordered in fact we ended up discarding the popcorn--we apologize for the wastefulness but it did not seem edible. Thankfully our food experience and our budget issues did not retract from our overall enjoyment of the farm. We felt that despite this experience, the attractions and charm of Liepold's is enough to bring us back next year. We definitely recommend arriving in the early morning hours as the farm opens before the crowd accumulates and the quiet charm of the farm can be most appreciated. Enjoy the maze (despite the pricing; it seems pretty similar to other corn maze options in the Portland area that we have tried in previous years) and perhaps consider the complete attraction pass to save a couple dollars. read more

Liepold farms was nice in that they had a lot of options for things to do. However, i felt it was pretty overpriced and poorly managed. Granted there were a lot of people there but basically myself and anyone else I asked had no idea where things were, so there could have been better signage throughout. We enjoyed the hayride and corn maze but that was all we got through. Lines were super long so we opted out of buying pumpkins etc. Caramel popcorn was also burnt. I would go there again but I'll definitely try some other places first before returning to spend $55 for a mediocre experience read more

What a waste of time. Their security guard called me "stupid" for parking, apparently in handicap parking. No marking, no idea, then pointed to a stop sign 20' away and said "it's pretty obvious". Their pumpkinds suck, nobody to help you get your receipt to pay, and only take cash. Put it on your GOD DAMN WRBSITE!!! It's 2013. Figure it out. And their "animals a nd attractions"? I will give 3 stars only because my daughter had fun. I felt I needed to come on here to express that the prices for this place are outrageous for a pumpkin patch. They charge a dollar to toss rotten fruit. The food is crazy expensive $7 for a hotdog and $12 for a sandwich. $6 for a Budlight. A budlight! I paid $18 for 2 med pumpkins. $3 for a 2 minute hay ride. I will not be returning. It is unfortunate that they are not making it affordable for most families to enjoy. Geared for kids (easy corn maze, hay ride) and adults (local tap list, including Laurelwood pumpkin), Liepold isn't a half-bad place to get your fall on. Our adult group couldn't find an actual pumpkin patch -- just a plot w/ pre-picked gourds -- but we did find a pumpkin launcher: $1 for 3 baby pumpkins to shoot at targets. 30 shots and we failed to hit a target, but it was worth it! read more

We discovered Liepold Farms just this year after less than positive experiences we have had at bigger farms over the past few years. I absolutely LOVE the vibe at this farm! It's smaller and much less commercial than other farms in the Portland area. The pumpkins are beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for on a beautiful fall afternoon in the country. I didn't mind paying a small admission fee to get in. It is a working farm after all...a family business. We went to their beer fest earlier this summer, and it had the same type of laid back atmosphere. I recommend you skip all those big, commercial, overly crowded pumpkin patches and head out for the beautiful drive to Liepold Farms! read more

I went with a group of elderly people for work. And they turned us a way I have been going for years in my personal life with my family they have never had an admission fee. Then to pull up with a bus of residents. And them to tell us we couldn't even walk around or eat our lunch there I have elderly folk who need meds and need to eat. They didn't say sorry. Or try to work with us. So rude. I will be telling 5 of my friends to tell 5 of their friends to not go. ... Just so rude and now I have a bus full of upset elderly people who just wanted to watch the kids run around the pumpkin patch... I'm so hurt. read more

I would highly recommend Liepold farms!! Employees are friendly and easily identified either by vests or orange shirts. There are greeters at the front that explain where everything is and how the farm works. There's so much to see and do at Liepold's, its family oriented and child friendly. I have been going to this pumpkin patch for years. Normally I love it. But today my friends and I took our babies there. There was a picnic table with a bunch of pumpkins and gourds so we thought it would be a great photo op. So we sat our babies up there and started taking pictures. I found a cute green pumpkin that I loved and set it in front of my baby. She put her hand on the stem and this older women that was working under the cover where you weigh and pay came over and snatched the pumpkin from my baby and said "we ARE trying to sell these." And walked away. I was so mad and embarrassed I was in tears. She didn't even bother to ask if I was planning on buying it or not. She just assumed I wasn't and took it away. First: how dare you take something from my 9 month old. And second: apparently I look like someone who can't afford a pumpkin? I don't get it. Then my friends and I went to where all the big pumpkins are and the whole time the lady was glaring at us and putting All the pumpkins that were on the table in to the bins, I'm thinking she assumed we put all of the pumpkins on the table and just didn't put them back? They were there the whole time, that's why we thought it would be cute to take pics with them. It takes one person to ruin it for everyone, I don't understand what I did wrong or why I wasn't aloud to buy the pumpkin I wanted? What's sad to me is that you don't care about your customers, I guess for every one you piss off and lose, there will just be another 50 that still come back so why treat people nice? So sad that you feel the need to be rude to people. I will never come back here. I put everything I was buying back because you aren't getting anymore money from me after this. I have been going to this farm every October since I was a little kid. I am 21 now. Obviously being 21 the "fun" aspect isn't as thrilling as it use to be for me. That being said, this review is not based whatsoever on how fun it is. This review is based on the staff. My sister, a friend and I went to Liepolds Farm this past Halloween. It felt like it only took 10minutes to get through the corn maze. (Not upset though cause we are older and that maze is made for little ones). Because we got through the maze so fast, we wanted to see some more of the attractions that they put into the maze before we exited the maze. The attractions are actually pretty fun and cute. We paid quite a bit of money for such a little amount of time, so we decided to walk through a few more of the attractions to get our money's worth. While we were walking around a lady came up to is with her two kids, didn't introduce herself or anything, just immediately barked at us saying that we had to pay for the maze again. She was very rude in how she approached us. We were nice though and said to her that we were simply just seeing some more of the attractions, and that we weren't going through the maze backwards. She kept saying we had to pay again. Finally she left. That completely ruined our trip. Being treated like criminals for simply looking at the decorations that the staff took time to build. Once we exited the maze we saw her by the barn area where they sell caramel apples, just staring us down again like we were criminals. We spoke to another lady who was staff and explained what happened and that lady said "she doesn't even work here, she is just one of the daughters". The lady we spoke to then was very nice and seemed upset that "the daughter" treated us like that. When we got home, we called to talk to the owner. Not to ask for money back, or ask for anything really, we just wanted her to know that, that lady ruined the maze for us for no reason. The owner we talked to was rude and basically said we were lying. It was just sad to be treated that way. I've lived in that area since I was born. Been to that farm every year of my life, and I was treated like a criminal the last time I was there. Needless to say, I won't be back there. I will not recommend this farm anymore. read more

The worst nightmare! This place was not well organized at all. From the parking, to buying tickets, to the corn maze... what a disaster! Traffic on Richey rd was backed up due to the overcrowded parking area and people stopping once they pulled in because they were looking for a space. There were plenty of kids pointing in a direction to go park but there was no organization. The kids were not even driving age so how would they know! The line to buy passes was incredibly long with the cash line being manned by one teenager. There was no price signage indicating what was included in the full pass and how much each was so each customer had to ask which really slowed everything down. A full pass was $15 for age 9 and up. The Corn maze was the main feature however Liepold Farm did not maintain the paths and it was one muddy, slick and dangerous mess. I saw one mom slip and fall hard in soupy mud. What a ridiculous nightmare. There was one loud mouth, toothless, bar-fly Granny cursing at a kid in the dark maze because he had a flashlight! My 11 year old told me she was a nasty old woman. I could not disagree... I have been to both the Sauvie's Island corn maze and farm and the Roloff farm. Both rate much better and worth the further commute from the Clackamas area. I would never recommend Liepold Farms to anyone, well maybe the toothless-bar-fly Grandma!! read more

This is the most horrendously disorganized and frustrating pumpkin patch I've ever seen in my life. Be prepared to use your psychic powers to figure everything out if you're going there for the first time, because there is NO ONE to be found to ask for help. None of the employees or volunteers or whatever they are were dressed in any way to discern them from a tourist. First, parking: We drive into the lot, and the people who are supposed to be guiding us are standing there chatting or staring at us. So eventually we are guided to the front and find some empty spots, and oh! THAT got their attention, because these EMPTY UNMARKED spots are "handicapped" spots. "That's why they're empty," the woman says. Ohhh-kayyyy...... Then she points in a general direction where we're supposed to go, and another woman "guiding" (who was ignoring us and chatting before) makes us stop and wait for the cars behind us to go ahead. So, not a great start. There are no signs anywhere to point to what anything is, but there are lines everywhere. After deciding to do a few activities, we thought we could stand in line and hand them cash for it, but no, it turns out you have to wait in line in front of a big tent to buy tickets to any activity you want to do. Which would have been fine if that had been CLEAR FROM THE START instead of standing there like an idiot, waiting. The only sign I eventually saw was a tiny, handwritten sign in cursive ON THE GROUND WHERE PEOPLE ARE STANDING AND BLOCKING IT that said, "Hay Line Ride" on one side only, so if you walked by the other direction and weren't scanning the ground intently (and why would you, unless you're a 2-year old, but then most 2-year olds don't know how to read), you'd miss it entirely. They don't accept cards, cash only, but it doesn't say that on their website, or anywhere on the grounds, which means after standing in line (again) for food, you can't pay unless you stand in line for the ATM....it was just ridiculous. Seriously. And the lines are all over the place - there's no rhyme or reason to any of it. What pissed me off the most and was (literally and figuratively) the last straw for me was standing in line for over half hour for the Hay Ride, and then when the tractors pulled up, everyone rushed to get on...but there was no organization. Nobody was at the front of the line to guide you, nobody pointed to where you should probably sit, nobody said how you should "load" yourselves; we stood there for a few seconds trying to figure out where we should go (we had 2 adults, a senior citizen, and a toddler with us) while everyone behind us was rushing around us. I mean, at that point, ANYONE passing by could have just jumped on the wagons because there was no organization whatsoever. I was wondering why I had bothered standing in line for so long if I could have just casually strolled by right after the wagons pulled up and jumped right on. And I was NOT about to stand in line for ANOTHER half-hour. And the pumpkin "patch" is just that - a tiny square where they have store-bought pumpkins lying on the ground. I was so angry at that point we didn't bother to buy one, we just left. I'll get my pumpkin elsewhere, and am never visiting this poorly run "farm" again.
