We had a 10:45 reservation but ended up waiting outside on the sidewalk for over 40 minutes. We got a couple of "it'll be soon" updates and one offer to sit at a picnic table on the sidewalk. That wasn't an option for my husband's back. And, by that point, it felt like we'd already had the full sidewalk experience! To add to the frustration, we watched a table that would have fit our party turn over and be given to a group that had arrived well after us. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our daughter has celiac disease, and after talking through options with our server, she ordered a modified breakfast plate. When it arrived, it had two slices of (gluten-full) toast placed right in the middle. We asked for a remake. While we were waiting someone came over to tell us (firmly) that the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free. We fully get that, but that's different from putting bread on top of everything on the plate, especially after we'd already discussed the restriction. As I was saying that, the staff member walked away. The interaction felt more like a lecture than the apology that would've been appropriate. The food overall was okay, but not memorable. My husband said the "special" Bloody Mary was the worst he's ever had--memorable, just not in a good way. On the positive side, the gluten-free coffee cake was excellent, and thankfully the company made the day worthwhile. My guess is there may have been an issue with our reservation. We made it in person previously and it was written in a notebook. When we called to confirm the day before, they initially couldn't find it. It felt like it might not have made it into the system, and they were trying to accommodate on the fly once they realized it. If that's the case, a little transparency upfront would have gone a long way--we would have appreciated the option to adjust our plans rather than end up waiting outside for so long. Overall, this felt like a series of misses and mishandled opportunities to improve the experience. It's also an excellent reminder of why I normally steer clear of dining out on holidays.

Our server Owen was knowledgeable, friendly but professional and gave wonderful service. I felt taken care of while still being able to converse with my coworker freely. His attention to detail was impressive. From the way he held the wine bottle as he poured, to the re plating and de crumbing the table. Excellent. We ordered the salad, clams and mussels, the pasta, the crepe and duck. Every dish was delicious. The kitchen did a wonderful job of coursing things. My coworker loved the pasta which was probably the #1 dish, but I was a huge fan of the crepe. There was another couple near us and I overheard Owen suggesting a wine to them. Their wine list is extensive and Owen seemed knowledgeable and comfortable making a pairing suggestion. Dessert was offered as was a coffee or after dinner drink. L' Orange hits every mark if you're looking for a lovely dinner out. Next time I want to sit at the bar as I only got to peek in but it looked like it would be a fun experience. I tried the Lechon Fresca, and it was fantastic. It's a family-style tapas situation, so our server recommended 2-3 items per person, depending on our hunger level. For 3 of us, we ordered 7 items, and it was plenty. We had the piquillo pepper empanadas (yum) - they added on a 3rd for us so we could each have one - gaucho bread, the white corn and cheese fritters (my favorite, I think?!), patatas, Peruvian fried chicken bites (second favorite bite?), pastel de choclo, and lomo saltado (so good!). Everything was delicious! I'd have loved to try the shaved jicama salad, too - next time we're in town! We parked in a lot nearby, but you can also get lucky and find street parking on the side streets. There are a few tables outside if you're looking for outdoor dining, but we liked the vibe inside. Highly recommend for a fun evening out and a chance to try several different things - you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Beautiful restaurant, we really expected a bit of a crowd. We were seated and greeted, waters were provided with menus. We started our meal experience by telling our waiter that we planned to do a progressive dinner down 3rd Street. We were met with a rather disappointed / disheartened response. Their menu was absolutely stunning. Lots of great options. As this was our first stop of the evening, we went for an appetizer. The Albacore Confit absolutely out of this world. Ridiculously good. Huge portion, plated beautifully. Wonderful for the three of us to share. We all raved at how lovely the dish was. Drinks were absolutely fabulous. Gin martini was SOLID. My partner didn't care for his wine but it was a first-time try, that isn't the fault of the restaurant. The Dolores O'Riordan martini was absolutely wonderful. The bar was timely with drinks, which is always appreciated. Overall, ambiance, food, and drink were AMAZING! Absolutely a 5-star experience. However, service just did not slap. We could have survived with the disheartened response at us only staying for one-course but the end of our time with Grounded Table kinda kicked us all in the butt. As they handed me the check, we were met with "We hope you can join us for an entire meal sometime". The inflection was just catty and unnecessary. Trying to look past it, I continued to complete the check but after they departed the table, my dinner-mates both whispered under their breath "that did not just happen, how rude!" Meh, this could hae been the easiest 5-star review ever. The attitude of our server kinda blew the entire experience, the comment was unnecessary.

The foie is not buttery and the truffle tasted thin and had 0 flavor. I think we would've been happier with a dozen oysters. Iberico pork for 2. This was enough for 3 of us. The majo sausage and spatzel were excellent as was the pork. Think of thick cut pork chop and it tasted just like it. We had one piece dryer than the other but they were cooked closer to medium. This was the best dish of the night. At $79 I would certainly hope so. We ended the night with some house ice cream and the again, these guys understand classic flavors. Service here was terrific. The wine list, of course, truly shines. This is a place where you can ask your server for recommendations for wines to pair with your meal, and you know you're going to get great recommendations. The interior dining space is larger than it looks from the outside, and the vibe is perfect for date nights, after work hangs, and girls' nights out. I've also always seen at least one family with children when I've dined here, so I like that they are welcoming of families. Often times gluten free items lack a bit of substance when it comes to how it feels, but the nice meaty chicken pieces really helped offset that in the case of the chicken sandwich.
