We had our best results ever and a 5-STAR result which includes EVERY department and facet of what we do. I'm so proud to be a part of this amazing team that does the great work we are passionate about for all of the families and residents that stay with us. To celebrate we are having a BBQ and Party - Slushee machines, Water slide, mechanical bull, games, raffles, prizes, and music. Come and enjoy a little fun and sunshine with our team and residents! Let's Go - Team Mira Vista!

Due to her advanced age and renal failure, she did not have surgery. Hospice told Mira Vista that she was bed bound and that she was supposed to receive pain meds on demand. This morning, Mira Vista personnel pulled her out of bed, put her in a shower chair and gave her a shower. They did not remove her hearing aids first. She was in agony. When it was finished, she asked for pain medicine and was denied, and was told she had to wait until 12 noon (it was currently 7 AM) for her next pill. She was traumatized from pain, shaking from shock, becoming nauseated from the level of pain she was in, and the only way we got her help was to get Hospice to fix Mira Vista's misunderstandings. Not only that, but one of her very expensive hearing aids came out when they washed her hair and is lost! The level of incompetence and lack of empathy is stunning. Thankfully Hospice helped us expedite getting her home set up. She left Mira Vista this afternoon, but she is still traumatized and we are trying to get her stabilized now that she is home. Do NOT bring your loved ones here!

My family has always had excellent care here, as have I, and also in the surgical center across the street. Its too bad people can't realize that they aren't the only ones in there, there aren't enough Dr's to go around for everyone all at once, and your probably not the worst off patient in there. These folks are busy, looking after many people, and acting like your the only one there that matters doesn't help anyone. Thank you for being there Skagit Valley Hospital, I believe your doing the best you can during the circumstances.

Dear Brian, After 32…read moreyears as a business executive and 20 years as a master executive coach, I've worked with hundreds of teams--some good, some struggling, and a rare few that shine so brightly they become the gold standard. I didn't expect to find one of those rare teams while wearing a hospital gown. During my almost four-week stay at Skagit Valley Hospital--especially in these very trying times--I experienced what can only be described as a Master Class in both personal and clinical patient care. Every single day, from the first to the last, I felt the presence of something you can't fake: a culture of trust, respect, and excellence. From housekeeping to dietary services, from CNAs and nurses to doctors and specialists, every member of your team not only performed their role with skill, but infused it with genuine kindness, attentiveness, and heart. What I experienced was seamless, coordinated care--delivered with humanity. Too many people to list each staff member I encountered, A special shout out to Dr. Wood, Dr, Goodman, and Dr. Sharma. In my work, I often use Patrick Lencioni's The Five Dysfunctions of a Team as a roadmap for building high-performing organizations: Trust - the bedrock of any great team Healthy Conflict - honest, constructive dialogue Commitment - unity around shared decisions and goals Accountability - holding each other to the highest standards Results - collective success above all else Most organizations can manage the first one or two. Rarely do I see all five fully alive. Yet here, in every department, every shift, I watched them in action--consistently. This was more than healthcare. It was the embodiment of what's possible when people are aligned in purpose, values, and mission. I would love your permission to do something special to honor the people who made this possible. Additionally, I would like to create a feature story about this experience to share the extraordinary culture and teamwork I witnessed--inside and outside the hospital walls. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and explore ways to make it meaningful for your team. Thank you, Brian, for leading a hospital culture that not only heals bodies but lifts spirits and restores faith in what a truly great team can achieve. With deep gratitude, Eileen M. The staff at Skagit Regional Clinics is always very friendly and understanding. My favorite feature of the clinics is that urgent care has a wait time posted at all times. You can also check the urgent care wait time online. I think this is such a great idea, because I've been to other clinics and waited hours, but at least here you know when you're going to have to wait! The occupational medicine clinic is in the same office as the urgent care. I had to get a TB test for work and I called over a DOZEN clinics in the Whatcom and Skagit counties. The other clinics I called they said they didn't do TB testing OR they wanted me to become a new patient and go through a routine checkup first. I was shocked at how hard it was to find a local place to get a TB test done- until I called Skagit. They said to come in anytime before 4pm on Monday-Wednesday, which was so wonderful and flexible. My TB test was fast and easy! Again- even though the clinic was very busy, the staff were cheerful and considerate of my time! I love this clinic and I'll be going back here for any of my urgent care needs from now on!

Not sure why, but I have had 2 or 3 referrals fall thru the cracks and went nowhere. After waiting, I find out that they had expired and had zero communication. Actually found out thru some insurance research that these referrals were even made..my Dr. Didn't follow up either. Figured he had dropped the ball. Anyway after using the "mychart" portal to find out about these referrals and why they were never brought to my attention, they didn't even respond to my satisfaction. I am planning on changing health care providers after almost 10 years. I have had other issues in the past but just ignored them, but these latest ones are inexcusable.
