History of Chronic Heart Failure, pace maker and defibrillator, multiple heart surgeries for genetic heart disease. Gets checked in, has vitals taken and is told to return to the waiting area. Family comes in with a five year old under the weather. Didn't look terribly serious, he was ambulatory and moving around the waiting area. That family was followed by a young lady and her mother. No idea their concern or diagnosis. Both sets of patients were checked in and taken back to the treatment area before any one called me. In fact, after be waiting an hour I drove myself home. An hour and a half after later Island Hospital called to see if I was still in the waiting area. I told them I was not and that I won't attempt to use the ER Department again.

They did some tests and told us that he had RSV and that it was treatable and he would more than likely go home that night. He was being treated in a bed in the hallway and was sharing time on the monitors with another patient, so the staff was not continually monitoring him. I feel like they underestimated the severity of his condition and did not give him the attention that he needed because they were understaffed and too busy. Within 3-4 hours of being diagnosed with RSV and not doing anything to help or treat his symptoms, my dad went into cardiac arrest and died. The doctor admitted to us at the time of his death that they exhausted all of their resources of epinephrin and could not save him. I feel like they missed the signs of what was coming and are too blame for his death. I will never agree to be taken to United General, for any reason, if I were to have a medical emergency. I feel like this place should be shut down if they can't provide proper care and have enough staff/ equipment/drugs.

It is never ideal when your family member makes the decision (or it is made for them) to get some additional help in life but LCRI is great for offering a large menu of options to keep seniors entertained and social. My dad now rides in a men's ebike club all over town daily, scary I know but he is able to safely keep his independence. There is always something going on and the staff is really nice. The food was okay when my dad moved in and has gotten so much better... When I think about facilities for seniors, our family is happy our dad is here because he is happy he is here and has a full circle of friends.

Deborah is an extremely sweet, kind, and empathetic human who understands the anxiety we face when our loved ones need elderly assistance. She helped us navigate the process right from the beginning, giving us advice on many options. She was proactive with communication, checked in often, and spent time in person without being rushed. She didn't pressure us into anything, but rather looked out for our mom's best interest. The facility tour gave us the overall impression that the residents were very happy.

12/27/23 My mammogram at Skagit Health Women's Imaging…read moreCenter was not a nice experience. It was a painful and stressful event and I was ready to walk out & go somewhere else. Today's visit at Skagit was similar to the previous time I had my mammogram at Skagit years ago. I had only used Skagit this year again because I had learned that they had new equipment that they didn't have the last time I used their service. That apparently was not what caused the painful event. Skagit may not properly train their employees who work with the women & their breasts. I am a thin 62 year old woman who has had mammograms at other health centers for many years in the past, however no other place but Skagit has done this to me. Today I continually made it clear that what was happening wasn't tolerable. The tech continually made it clear that she needed to do what she was doing because the radiologist needed it. The tech & I worked together to finish the event but I will not ever be going to Skagit for mammograms again. The office people were fine. They started out in the 2 bedroom suites and then when mom passed, dad moved to a studio suite. He is in a wheelchair and needs assistance so that was all a very easy transition for him. If he later needs more care it is added and we know that he can go to the full care area later on. The thing I notice the most is that it doesn't have the terrible smells that other homes have. (The nursing home smell) That is important, cuz it means they are clean. We appreciate that. So we are happy to know that he's getting good care there. Especially with the COVID-19. They have been very careful and safe with the residents there. We can now schedule an appointment to see him outside for 30 minutes. That is nice.

I visited this clinic in October twice since the young doc could not do I/D at first visit, I had to come back again. Tri care supposed to cover 100% for these visits as my coverage. I got billed couple hundreds dollars for one of the visits. I called Tri-care, and was told that skagit used wrong code, so they need to use correct one to submit the bill again. When I asked the lady from Tricare , she could not tell me the code, Skagit needs to call Tri-care if they have a question. I called Skagit 360-814-7575, the young lady who talked to me at 1134 am on Dec 15, 2025 told me that they did not use wrong code and I need to check my insurance for coverage, if it's wrong code, "I" need to call Tri-care and get the correct billing code to tell her because it's MY responsibility to correct the billing. I am a patient, I am not working for billing at Skagit nor Tri-care. When I asked her to call Tricare to figure out what was wrong, She said, "Skagit will not call insurance company, we already communicated with insurance company. You are responsible for this billing. " She told me to have Tricare contact Skagit or get the billing code by myself. I explained to her the staffs from Tricare cannot make outgoing call directly, but she kept saying no. I am sure they do billing hundreds everyday. Human make mistakes , but how she knows she is not wrong 100% for sure? I was refused to request for the review the bill , not willing to call insurance company. Tri-care staffs I called cannot make outgoing calls. If Skagit cannot help to solve this problem. Who would help? Basically, if they use wrong billing code, patients need to shut up and pay the whole bill?????

As it was cheaper and they would do refiled without a visit. Well that was strange reply. As I'm sure if I had never been there they would in fact not do so. What she was implying was that they have lower standards. Which was no even close to what not questions was about. Inside Anacortes Family Medicine, the staff is very nice and helpful. The front desk helps with anything you need. The nurses are great, and the doctors tend to run mostly on time. I've rarely had to wait too long - there are exceptions, but emergencies do come up. The clinic is a part of Island Hospital, and they are only a few blocks away from the Island Hospital ER. This is good because sometimes situations call for an ER visit, and the doctors have referred me down there on a handful of occasions throughout my life. Since they are affiliated with Island Hospital, they have good access to specialists for situations calling for one, as well as special testing done in a lab. They use the lab at Island Hospital. There is not one inside the clinic. There is an urgent care facility housed in the same building as Anacortes Family Medicine, and if Anacortes Family Medicine cannot fit you in to see a doctor, the urgent care can - there just might be a bit of a wait. This is very convenient. I highly recommend Anacortes Family Medicine!
