Do not trust this company to do your garden. They are greedy. Made an appointment to get an estimate and Pedro came by and gave me a price of $600 for the front and backyard. Surprisingly, just a small 2 bush trim was an extra $50 more. I gave it a couple of days to think it over, then I text back to arrange a schedule and specifically mentioned what we discussed when Pedro visited. No response, until I asked one last time. And then he texted to charge me $1350! I was shocked. I said I couldn't accept, and all he text back was a winky smiley emoji. I cannot trust Pedro will do a good job because of this. This is poor business communication and a lack of marketing of this company. Very unprofessional. Message to all customers: There are a lot of other choices out there. Long overdue praise for Life Garden with Pedro and his team. My neighbors and us shared a side yard which we had been contemplating on what to do with it since it had been overgrown with weeds. We pulled some ideas together from the internet and finally at the start of the year doing something about it. We contacted Pedro for a quote and as busy as he was, he still managed to squeeze us in. Initially, we thought this would be too small of a project compared to some of the photos we saw on Yelp. He came to measure and we gave him an inspiration pic and about a week later we got back a very reasonable quote. We weren't in a hurry so he scheduled us close to a month out from the time he came by to look at our space. What we had done: 1. Remove the overgrown weeds and old mulch 2. Level the soil 3. New french drain along the side 4. New horizontal fences 5. New weed barriers, rocks, and concrete pavers Here's a kicker, everything was all done in 3 days! These guys worked hard and oh man the workmanship and quality is impeccable. They were responsive to our calls and text for changes. We had one big change during the project as all projects usually have at NO fault of Pedro's team, and they were so agreeable and even said "no problem that's my job". Initial response was quick then no follow up. I had to follow up a couple times. Pedro quoted me one price. He told me the work was done when it was not fully completed as we had agreed. When I asked, he said it would cost additional $$ to complete since he forgot to include in original quote. This would have had a total cost more than other quotes I received. And he told me he ran out of time and never offered to come back to complete the work. The work was decent, but it doesn't seem to be fully honest to me, and therefore I would not recommend. The other 5 star ratings here got me fooled so hopefully this review can help others. read more

The team headed by Mr. Hernandez came today and completely refreshed the yard front and back. I could not be happier with the results. They replanted where necessary and trimmed and cared for remaining plants, cleaned the yard completely and recovered the ground cover all in a single day. I let the team determine the plants and they're all lovely as well as drought tolerant. We will be using them for monthly maintenance and future projects. Pedro and his crew did an excellent job removing our 55 feet (or more) palm tree. Since we were on vacation, we schedule the removal of the tree a good six weeks in advance. They showed up on the day we scheduled and almost finished the job in a day with the final removal of the stump completed in a few hours the following morning. Great price as well. They transformed our entire yard, constructing a spacious new Trex deck with new staircase and railing and 2 horizontal cedar fences, along with extensive landscaping and a drip irrigation system in a mere 12 days. After sending out Yelp requests for quotes, Pedro at Life Garden was the only one who responded with an engaging response. It left me the impression that he really wanted to work with us. Pedro pruned the swamp myrtle in our front yard, and our neighbor commented on how that was the best job that had ever been done on that tree. She is an elderly woman who did not like the tree dumping leaves on her yard, so she asked us to cut it back and Pedro left it looking light and airy. The second project was big. It was the removal of my other neighbors' 50 foot plus swamp myrtle tree, which had become an eyesore due to neglect and very poor care. The tree was also dumping a fair amount of leaves in our yard, staining our decks, and obstructing our view of the ocean. The neighbors could not afford to cut down the tree, so I paid for the whole thing to come down. He cut the tree down over two days, left my neighbors house how he found it, and disposed of all refuse. Now we have the Pacific Ocean view back. He's very easy to work with and he and his coworker, Daniel, work really fast with minimal disruption to the surrounding property. Everything looks better! read more
