Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but The Villas stands above them all thanks to Grayson Tynes, Executive Director, and Nikki Zukic, the Director of Memory Care. Both have set the gold standard for providing personal care to their residents and for creating an active and supportive community. My role as a private caregiver--hired by the families of residents--means I have an objective and unbiased assessment of every facility I work in. I am an advocate and mandated reporter first and foremost, so I have a duty to observe everything. This means watching how the staff interacts with residents, how the facility itself is maintained, etc. My experience at The Villas over the past six years, during which I have had clients there, has been very positive. Each of the aforementioned directors has taken the time to listen to my feedback and observations, which, in turn, has allowed us to exchange ideas and suggestions. Their professionalism, integrity, and genuine commitment to their residents are unmatched. Staffing is and will always be an issue at every facility; I have seen the worst to the very best at all of them. It is an unavoidable element due to the nature of the industry. So I will not pretend that any one place is perfect. However, The Villas has seemingly been the most proactive in both hiring and letting staff go (to put it nicely). This approach has ensured a consistent, effective level of care for residents. Every day I see the staff, from caregivers to servers and even those in maintenance, go above and beyond to help and provide hospitality to the residents. Grayson Tynes the Executive Director and Nikki Zurkic Director of Memory Care, set a very high standard and communication with me and my family was always outstanding. There are several staff members that always stood out to me for the care my father provided. Jocelyn, Michelle, Jamie, AD and private care staff members Scott. They always had his best interests at heart, and I truly appreciate every one of them. My Father was very happy there and loved all his new friends. I am certain that every one of them played a role in his success there. Even though he suffered with Dementia, he knew and appreciated them and all they did for him, that was very clear to me. Absolutely pristine private home -from the entrance to the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, bedrooms and backyard. It was located in a lovely upscale neighborhood in Rocklin. There is a huge beautiful backyard with seating under a gazebo. I happened to arrive at mealtime, and the residents were sitting around a family table. The food looked good, the residents well cared for. The owner, Lily was warm and professional. Although we decided upon a larger facility, Agape is worth a visit if you want a home setting. Not for someone on a tight budget- but costs are fairly comparable.

He was tasked to find a assisted care facility with specific environments. His choices were all on the money but unfortunately my mom kept coming up with more requirements. If it were me, I would have selected any one of the ones he suggested. He was toughtful and caring of what I wanted for my mom. However, she was steered to another facility in Fremont that filled all of her specifications and then some (primarily an Asian community). She sadly passed in April 2019.

Felicia stood out many months ago as the most expert and empathetic in understanding what to do to provide for the best care for a loved one with cognitive decline or memory issues. I kept the pen she handed out, and when the need arose and we exhausted all free resources, I reached out to her organization for an objective view into how my loved one was doing and what we could do to better provide for her care. She has provided excellent service and I highly recommend her for your Elder Care Management needs. It was worth every penny. I only wish I worked with her sooner. We recently contracted with Felicia to provide an analysis and assessment of my loved one's needs in her current memory care community. The insights and peace of mind she provided us about my loved one's care were invaluable, and she was so thoughtful, professional, efficient, and responsive. My loved one recently moved to a new "board and care" with 5 other ladies just like her. Felicia recommended the care home along with other recommendations such as a geriatrician referral and techniques to simplify and provide better care. I cried with relief when I saw all that the new care home did to provide the highest standard of care. It had become evident my loved one needed a smaller setting and one-to-one care 24/7. Senior communities (even memory cares) cater to people who have a fair amount of independence still and don't have as many needs. When their needs increase, the communities do not keep up nor do they have the empathy, understanding or appropriate staffing to provide a dignified standard of care. The community where my mom lived failed to provide care in such a glaring way that I could not in good conscience let her remain with it falling so short. We started the search on a Monday and got all the paperwork set for move-in over the weekend. Without Felicia, it wouldn't have been possible, and the care home typically had a waitlist but miraculously had an opening. The last six months we have seen a progressive decline, in part due to the environment not providing for our loved one's dignity and in part due to the disease. It will not get any easier, but it will get more dignified and dependable. The journey has been long and difficult, but through Felicia's guidance, I feel more at ease through the turbulence. In many ways, I feel like I can get my life back since caregiver management has taken up such a huge portion of my time due to its complexity. Felicia helped simplify the work and help chart our course in a better direction.
