Headmaster Price's thoughtfulness was demonstrated throughout my son's attendance. He knows each student by name as well as their story. Without overreach that has plagued so many public schools, Basix Knowledge can regularly adapt to our ever changing educational world- allowing the opportunity to foster an incredible learning environment. Without hesitation, I'd recommend this school for your scholar.

This school was an absolute saving grace for my daughter, who needed a place where she could thrive in a more supportive and personalized environment. The smaller class sizes gave her the attention she needed to stay motivated and excel. The option for online learning also provided the flexibility to manage her schedule effectively while staying focused on her goals. Thanks to the dedicated and caring staff, she was able to graduate six months early! I couldn't be prouder of her accomplishment, and we are so grateful to Basic Knowledge Academy for helping make it happen. Highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a flexible, supportive, and high-quality education!"

Lord! He had to get his new Marta Card. Now he has new identification and Marta cards. He think he capital G grown. 11:51am TP -Okay, I just hate for him to bus on the all day long like that. 11:52am BERNICE -Me tooooo. I don't know why they take so dog gone long. Geeez! 11:56am TP - Okay, I continued on my day and at exactly 1:41pm I get a Facebook Messenger Video call from my son.  I answer "Hey son". He was visibly shaken and frantic saying "MOM, look at my face".  He then pulls down his face mask and I see a bump on the right of his forehead, and what looked to be a fresh abrasion underneath his left eye.  It looked as if it had some sort of ointment on it.  He continued to ramble on about being punched in the face 3 times and thrown to the ground by MO. I then ask him where he was and he says he was in TO's office.  He seemed very frantic and because he had about an hour of the day program to go, I didn't want to upset him any further; I told him to not worry about it, and that sometimes that's what happens when you bother people or get into a fight - you get scuffed up and thrown to the ground. Note:  This incident makes for the 3rd altercation he has had with this MO.  My son and I talked for exactly 13 minutes 8 seconds.  While talking with my son I sent TP a text message.  Being that they had 2 prior altercations - I was already warned that if this behavior continued that he would most likely be kicked out of the program.  So...I sent him these exact text messages below 1:45pm BERNICE - My son says he had a "another" fight. He was talking in 3rd person. Maybe he'll keep his hands in his pockets next time - if he gets enough bumps and bruises. I'm gonna keep him home until December or until you guys say otherwise... Yay or Nay. Either way, I personally won't be sending him until December 1st. At this point; he knows better than this fighting crap. smh Lord 1:46pm BERNICE - He facetimed me talking about - "Look at my face".  He has to learn; one way or the other. 2:40pm TP - Ima call you and explain everything I can't right now his been in my office all day, keeping him busy 2:40pm BERNICE -Lord. Note: So while we were texting I remembered that Marta Mobility's automated system called to say that my sons pickup bus would be arriving at 2:32pm so I text right back the message stated below 2:42pm BERNICE - His bus says it's coming at 2:32 pm 2:43pm TP- It's honestly not what you expect It wasn't a fight, he's just been historical 2:47pm BERNICE - 2:49pm BERNICE - I ain't paying no attention to him. I told him, "well sometimes that's what happens when you bother people, you get slammed to the ground and scuffed up". He be needing a beat down every now and again. That dude stay on one. 2:49pm TP - Lol Note: I continued on with my day; expecting to hear from staff or anyone from the program.  Especially since this was his 3rd altercation and had been warned that if he had one more incident he could get suspended indefinitely. I thought it were just another one of his fights and he may have gotten a little bruised - as he has had a few in his past and since being enrolled in the program. It wasn't until my son came home from school at 6:04pm (Marta Mobility has logged into their system - although I don't believe that is an accurate log) that I realized that TP's text stating that it wasn't a fight and that my was being hysterical was an understatement! My son had bandaids on his face, his left eye was black, blue, greenish and purple underneath and around.  He also had an abrasion underneath his right eye that was still bloody.  I was livid!  I waited the remainder of the day for TP to contact me back and he did not. .... There's not enough room for the rest of the story so if you like to hear it please email me at Fe.Entertainment101@gmail.com

I also wasn't told this until a couple of weeks before school started which was unacceptable), which I knew would be a challenge, but I expected more support from the school to help her get on track. Instead, there wasn't much communication or a real plan to catch her up. Her grades started slipping, especially in math, which has always been her strongest subject. I kept waiting for the school to step in with extra help or at least keep me in the loop, but that didn't really happen. It felt like they just let her struggle instead of working with us to make sure she succeeded. I was asked to email my concerns to the head of school in Jan of 2025. I am still waiting for a response and it's now a new school year. You have to let them know by February if your child will be coming back in the new school year if not you will be stuck in your contract and required to pay regardless of enrollment status. In waiting for a response, I went ahead and submitted a request to pull my child from enrollment for the next year. I assume that lead to their lack of support and interest in my child's education. I wanted this to be a good fit, but the lack of support and communication from the staff made it really frustrating. Families need a school that actually partners with them, and unfortunately that wasn't our experience here.

The poor reviews are true and well deserved. There are many reviews of this school that are no…read morelonger shown that need to be read. My children attended this school for two years. As with any school, some of their teachers are absolutely awesome, others are absolutely horrible due to their unprofessional communication with students and parents. These teachers would vindictively lie on the students and parents to cover up their own actions while the Director would just say "I support my teachers." Unfortunately, this support would be at the expense of the learning and mental health of the students. My children were cursed at, implied that they were dumb though straight A students; put in an academic group all by themselves with the teacher saying they were the lowest in the class, which was strange since the previous year they were above grade level. They both were also ostracized in the class and made to sit by themselves. When the sixth-grade teacher wanted to set an example for the class, she engaged in secret machinations with the Director, where she would falsely accuse a student to get them sent home, just to instill fear in the class with the Director's full support and knowledge of the scheme! She would also instigate conflicts with various students and then lie on them. She overtly lied in saying my child lunged at her, but then when pushed for clarity and asked to see the tapes from the cameras, she retracted her statement and said she didn't feel threatened. This was a straight up Emmett Till move from a black teacher at that! Note the Director does not have any real power as he answers to the owners. His only concern is his own job security. He seems nice, attentive with great eye contact and concern, but has absolutely no intention of doing anything. The Asst Director really controls the school and absolutely is misogynist, sexist and ostracizes parents he does not like from the school. The education is no better than what you can get from a decent public school as they use the same curriculum (Pearsons/Savvas) and do not do anything differently. You are only paying for a school with less negative student behaviors (the poor behaviors come from the administration). My children's previous private school did a way much better job of teaching successfully with proven academic results in practice, not just test scores. It wasn't just a few kids who were advanced, almost all the kids were one to two grades ahead due to the teaching methods. AOS advertise that the kids are reading in Pre-K, but that is because they came there reading. This is NOT a Christian School as advertised. The administration does not practice biblical principles and certainly do not exhibit Christian behavior. The bible class does not teach much and the teacher is more concerned with personal acknowledgement and adoration than exhibiting Christian values. Once teacher appreciation week comes around, you will see a lot of fake teachers smiling at you hoping to get a gift, especially the phony bible studies teacher. The kids learn nothing in Spanish class. Two years of the class, my children still were not taught the Spanish alphabet nor how to count in Spanish. Additionally, you can tell it is a toxic environment to work at. They have horrible reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed. Staff do not want to admit to understandable mistakes due to retribution and it is very cliquish authoritarian environment. Though some consider it affordable, it is not worth the expense. In comparison to other more expensive private schools you get what you pay for. In comparison to some decent public schools, it is not worth the expense. Find some other place to send your child. There are good schools out there in your community, you just have to do the work to find them. This is NOT it!

Winston was very professional and taught me the BEST test taking strategies for the GRE. I worked with Winston in 4 one-on-one tutoring sessions and was able to obtain my desired scores on the GRE. He shared valuable ideas to discuss on the analytical writing portion, was helpful in refreshing my memory on a few math sections, and was the most helpful in preparing me how to best answer questions in the verbal reasoning sections. Winston has taken the GRE multiple times and does a thorough job at explaining any of the material covered on the GRE and shares his most valuable techniques on how to be the most efficient test taker. The only reason I rate Richmond Tutors 4/5 stars is Winston has a very full schedule of consistent clients he sees every week. Therefore, I had to settle with 8:00pm time slots for my tutoring sessions. However, I was more than willing to accommodate to Winston's schedule in order to receive his tutoring services and he was always willing to call and allow me to take another time slot if one of his clients canceled their appointment. I would highly recommend Winston and Richmond Tutors to anyone seeking tutoring services to best prepare for the GRE.

Phenomenal experience! All three of our kids have used Richmond Tutors for one thing or another…read moreover the years, and we have been consistently happy every time. Our oldest came for SAT and ACT prep, and he improved significantly on both tests after just a few months of instruction. Obviously he put in he time and effort that was required, but I don't think he could (or would) have done it without help from Richmond. I was impressed by the materials and the somewhat flexible structure of the program, since we were able to add individual hours after the first ten were used without having to write a big check. Even though he's in college, he's been back a few times while on breaks for help with essays and a Spanish class that he probably should have stayed away from! Our middle child used Richmond for SSAT prep and for help with math and science. Again, my wife and I felt that the cost was reasonable, especially for the results that she ended up getting. Now that she's at a new school, we still use Richmond when a big test or an exam is coming up, or if she's having trouble in a particular class. Our youngest just took the SSAT, and again the results were excellent: up from the 40th percentile to nearly the 80th percentile after ten hours and a couple of practice tests. I should add that I do not agree with the negative review regarding the owner and director, Winston Chapman, whom my wife and I have always viewed as professional, courteous, and very helpful. He and his folks have a fantastic operation up in Buckhead, and we hope they're still around for years to come!

And the instructor showed up 10 minutes late... I think they need to work on communication and punctuality. The lesson itself was ok, I thought he would have more structure to the lesson but he just let me drive wherever I wanted and gave tips as we went instead of instructing me where to go like what an actual road test proctor would do. This kind of made me feel unsafe because I didn't know where I was going and I was driving without purpose. He was very knowledgeable in parallel parking so I got a lot of help but he didn't know much about reverse parking (he said he hasn't taught someone reverse parking in a while). So if you want to take a lesson here, come prepared with questions and exactly what you want to work on because the instructor doesn't provide anything unless you ask.
