So the BONUS at Life storage was my appliances and leather sofa were infested with mice,along with my precious photo albums. All they say is do you have insurance. Why should I make a claim on my insurance and have my rates go up due to their neglect, as well as my photos can't be replaced and are now stained with mouse urine and feces . I was impressed that the communication from headquarters was so clear and on point with the local office (Dre). Sometimes when you work with big companies you never know if the right hand knows what the left is doing that but was not the case here. Dre walked me out and helped me unlock and lock my units and even found an alternative if I needed a larger space. I felt respected and taken care of. Since that date there have been two increases of over $100 dollars. As of September 9 of this year, we will be paying $421.00/month. This is gouging and although currently legal in NC, I am going to start writing my congressman and Action 9 news to look into the price gouging. Some states regulate this type of abuse. I am told by someone on Next Door that this is called surge pricing. Check Next Door post for LIFE STORAGE. There are others with the same issue and some who have had their belongings auctioned off by them due to non payment. We hired them to pack for us and for the actual move and some aspects of the move were incredible and very professional and others did not go well. The quote and booking process was very efficient and professional and I thought communication from both our team leader, Travis, and from Jason, the owner, was prompt and thorough. I thought my actual moving team was wonderful. We have moved nine times during our marriage due to work relocations as well as personal reasons. The Reign team was highly efficient and the movers did a great job with moving all our furniture, even heavy and more delicate pieces. Things did get a little sloppy right a the end with boxes marked "kitchen fragile" left in the driveway and not all of the packing was logical. It was really very hard to find things because the boxes were not all accurately labeled and didn't have descriptions of what was in them. Some things were just tossed in boxes even if they had been organized in labeled bins in closets of our previous home so unpacking was kind of a disaster. We also had more damaged or just completely lost items than any other move we have ever had. We are missing things like the seat cushion from a chair that is only sold in pairs making it very expensive to replace, the contents of an entire drawer from our kitchen, and then exactly half of the hardware to put our guest bed back together. We then had quite a few things broken - two lamps, a tv, and some glassware. We also had a theft during the move that is currently under investigation with the sheriff's department. We have no plans of moving again but if we were we would consider using Reign for the move itself and I would make sure my valuables were more closely supervised but I would not trust them to pack for me again.
