The location is nice, but the class list is not sufficiently stacked. The swim lessons are beyond horrific. I would show up with my child and the instructor was in the other pool and would not notice him. There is no directions on where to go or if they are watching. It is loud and just over all very distracting. Not to mention poorly ran. No stroke technique given to students they didn't feel were team material. I canceled my membership in September and their corporate office is saying I did not and is now wanting to charge me $740. I find this beyond ridiculous. They said I have to go into a gym that I A) don't have the time to get to and B) canceled via an email. How is an email and phone call not an appropriate way to cancel. They are inflexible and will tell you they have a complete list of classes, but they only do at 9:30 and 10 am. Was told there were 6 yoga classes a day when I got there there was ONE most days and sometimes two. They overcharge for elite training and say you need that. The pool is not heated in the summer so is freezing cold. Kids club is another issue, my child has a hearing disorder they were rude to him and Stuck a 7 year old in with 2 year olds because he didn't speak correctly and appeared young (when I asked them). He was not allowed to do the older children activities. Do I need to go on? I filed with the BBB because of this horrendous service and blockade to cancelation. Been going to a chain fitness place here locally and have been happy with it. I was looking for a little bit more "gym" and thought I'd try this place out. I've used the Lifetime San Antonio gym before and loved it. Never really got bored and thought the $80 monthly was a steal for such a massive gym. I come here and do a walk around and try it out for the day. I spent a while so I could really absorb the place and see if it was worth it. I found myself bored of the place on the first day. It was nothing like I remember other lifetime's. The weight room floor is the size of my middle school gyms weight room. The machines were not plentiful like you'd find at a Vasa or even a Chuze. I went up to the cardio room and saw a bunch of machines that all faced each other. I found that weird and probably wouldn't use them because of that. I live in Colorado and this gym is in the flatirons; couldn't they have reflected their massive renovation to have windows? I'm not going to do my cardio while I look at someone else square in the face when nearly every other gym has a standard set up of either giant televisions or the beautiful landscape. Not directly facing other machines. Where they really ticked me off is when they call me nonstop to see if I want to join. Once even hours apart on the same day! Really? I thought this was Lifetime, not a Nissan dealership. So the verdict? Not for me. I get more of what I want (cardio and weights) where I am now for $9.99 a month. However, if you enjoy classes and a decent changing room then maybe $119 a month is worth it to you. With a gym on every corner that all compete with each other I just can't see where this is worth the cost. And to the person that leaves generated responses on every review under 5 stars, don't. I'm a 10 plus year member at Lifetime and, due to heavy travel, I'm going to different Lifetimes all over the country. This one is, hands down, the worse from a customer service standpoint. Incredibly rude front desk people and after coming here once for a walk thru, I can back to workout but they turned me away. Never got to try out the gym and they said I already used my one pass. The lady was extremely rude. Regardless, I won't be back to join. read more

Great extended hours, well staffed, and heavily trafficked. At 5:00 pm, parking can be difficult. Lifetime Fitness is a publicly traded company (LTM). Thus, it can be argued that the environment might be more corporate than other fitness facilities in the area. Like any business, revenue is important (especially when it comes to pleasing shareholders) and this fact is very evident in the number of products and fitness services available (personal training sessions, spa services, and even food options). The latter can be a great thing and it's nice to have options. There are a number of paid and non-paid classes available. Upon enrollment you are given the option to try a "free" on boarding personal training session. This option is great because it can give you a chance to orient yourself to the equipment and/or choose if purchasing a fitness plan is a good fit. It is also good to know that prior to attending the on-boarding session, more likely than not you will be up-sold to a fitness program. This is not good or bad, as Lifetime is a business. The inside of the locker room has been consistently clean and staff have been helpful. I even observed a staff member cleaning the fitness equipment. It is good to know that staff care about the facilities and that they are being attentive to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. I have only been a a member for two weeks. My compliments! After four years of avoiding the gym, I came for my first solo swimming workout getting back in the pool in your new facility yesterday. On my way out leaving, I announced I wanted to speak to a manager! You inquired why? All I could do was rave about the locker room attendant Alli! How awesome and amazing she is! Probing more you asked why is she amazing? I stated because she anticipated my every need and spoiled me, and left it at that. After speaking to you today I wanted to really explain the details of what Alli did to anticipate my every need. Sharing this compliment for one of your staff means more to me than just a mere compliment. Since my MS disability has taken its toll on my mobility I feel more insecure in getting around than I would like to admit and I am so grateful for Alli's encouragement. I came into the locker room with my bright yellow walking bike and after getting my combination stuck, Alli came over unlocked it and showed me how to do it correctly. Alli then proceeded to offer to help in any way she could. First she offered friendly conversation, then she got me towels and said she would meet me at the door to the pool. She held the doors open for me and made sure I was safe by the edge of the pool and then ran to fill up my water bottle. Alli provided reassurance that someone is always walking through the pool area and I could just ask anyone to get her to assist me back to the locker room. Funny thing was I never asked for her, but she managed to just show up at the right time, holding the doors open again. Alli even ran back to get my water bottle I had left at poolside. I went to the hot tub and Alli set the timer for me and said she would be back. After a bit, I made my way to the accessible shower and surprise! Alli had already turned on the water to warm it up for me! As if all this wasn't enough, while changing, I observed Alli offering her helpful services to others and really helping to put people at ease. All I could think is, Lifetime has a gem and they need to know it. Coming full circle to my original compliment, Alli is awesome! The only other item to share is that I am so pleased to be in a brand new facility that is very spacious and accessible. Lifetime Athletic Flatirons has exceeded my expectations and now I have no physical obstacles to coming to a gym again. The ease of getting in and around the facility as well as all the onsite amenities that are so convenient, saves me a lot of time and effort. Hence no more excuses for working out. While I cannot make my disability go away, I can still improve my overall strength and endurance with a regular workout schedule. With the support I receive from all your friendly staff, coming to Lifetime feels like a treat and an investment in my well-being. Thanks for getting it right with all that you offer. read more

This club has a real hot tub that massages you with it's strong and well-positioned jets (located in each the men and women's locker rooms). They have the best LIFETIME hot tubs in the country, in my opinion. read more

The fitness facility is wonderful! They have great classes, equipment, pool and locker room with all the beautiful amenities (steam, sauna, whirlpool, etc). The faculty is very friendly and accommodating. My favorite is their Life Spa. I have had facials and massages at five star spas all over the world, yet the best I have ever had was with Shayla at the Life Spa. I also love to get my hair colored and styled by Sara at their salon. Bonus is that they offer free childcare while using their spa (nails, hair, massage, facial, etc) even if you are not a member. Plus if you are not a member, you have free access to the fitness facility (classes and gym) the day of your appointment. I have never had an issue with parking and found the cost of membership to be what you would expect for such a gorgeous facility. They also have a cafe with delicious and healthy food options. read more

Friendly associates and great facilities!

Yes, the parking can really be a pain if you come during peak times, or when they offer popular classes. I almost drove home until a spot opened up. However, these one star reviews are way overblown. I have noticed that the parking lot is mostly full for the classes they offer. My wife enjoys most of the classes including the Spartan class. The glute class is boring for her, not intensive enough, however it's probably great for those who don't have strong glutes like me. She makes my glutes look bad and i love to squat. Anyways, they have classes for all levels and hands down best club in north Denver metro/suburbs. I mainly stick to free weights/racks and have yet to wait for a bench or rack to open up. Don't be afraid to ask someone to jump in if a machine, etc. is being used. Just make sure to use your own towel and reset the previous weight and be extra nice and most people don't mind. In fact, it's a great way to meet people. Don't be a "snowflake" in the gym or walk around with an attitude like you're the coolest biggest guy on earth. Good chance nobody cares and you look like a real DB. Another thing, get off your dang cellphone "texting, face cracking"so it doesn't take up more time when someone else could be using the equipment. The gym itself is very nice and much needed addition to Boulder county. I have been to the other gyms that charge more/less and they are old and over crowded or just simply old like Lakeshore was. I wanted to quit Lakeshore so many times but the location was very convenient, but the equipment was horrible. Always falling apart and the gym smelled like "poo". The new cafe is great, a little pricey though which prevents me from eating there regularly but it's good. The spa services are also a bit pricey, in fact massages are about the same as the St. Julien, so they need to adjust down a little. I have found the staff to be very nice, albeit some of them need to watch their language. When you're wearing a suit, act like you belong in it. Dues just went up $7 for current memberships which I'm ok paying for as I understand the cost of renovation was not cheap but the services need to come down. $109 for a trainer is ridiculous, cafe prices are a little steep and spa services are on the cusp of being astronomically overpriced as i stated earlier. All that being said, I am thrilled it finally opened and will continue going. If they really want to make a little extra money, offer valet service so someone else can find the parking spot. Shoot, offer up car detailing as well to make the club super premium and I may never leave. Lol read more

Really great gym with friendly staff, I always feel like a million bucks after I leave. They have good treadmills and I never liked running on those before bc they felt flat and hard. These are rubbery and have good bounce plus can watch cable TV on the screen in front of you. New nice machinery, lots of space to spread out. I took a barre class that whooped my ass, that's a plus. I use the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi to stay warm in cold weather! Also tried the cafe for the first time, had the seasonal turkey cranberry panini - it was made very well and tasted great. read more

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! At least until they make some changes and start listening to the members. This gym is EXTREMELY over crowded and aggressively getting worse. Lets start with the parking. There have been multiple accidents in the lot resulting in damaged cars. The lot is spaced with what appears to be golf cart spacing which doesn't work for those of us that don't drive Coopers or Fiats. People have suggested, "Get there early for parking" but that doesn't help when the late comers park in the DRIVING LANES and actually block your car in from leaving. LifeTime also needs to add at least 1 stop sign near the entry for those that don't understand the simple laws of driving and stripe the NO Parking areas along the curbs of the driving lanes. Assuming my gym membership includes a parking space and a locker, what happens when there is NO parking and NO locker. I still pay full rate, correct? and considering increasing rates??? LifeTime is promoting this gym as an Onyx with the potential of going Diamond by upgrading the pool area?? Not even close. Why, because there is Tennis and Pickleball on the roof?? What does that have to do with my workout?? This gym is poorly laid out from the minimal free weight area, to the wasted CrossFit space (You have to love when trainers have the clients pound the ropes on the floor, everyone gets to enjoy that annoying sound) and with less machines and equipment than the Westminster (Gold) location??? I too like basketball but you may want to reconsider that space, could it not be better allocated space. I'm just saying, count how many people actually utilize the court space. Sorry 10 basketball people (10 x $150=$1500), but we need the room for the masses (50 x $150=$7500). How about basketball on the roof? LifeTime really needs to reevaluate the layout and maybe someone should address the people who think its OK to lay on the floor in the most ridiculous places to STRETCH. I'm talking about those in front off the dumbbells or free weight areas and other walkways. Can you not direct them to a less crowded area like the CrossFit floor or maybe one of the rooms upstairs or maybe the basketball court? Possibly somewhere where people are not stepping over them, for everyone's safety. Overall the member crowd is pretty good. I remember signing something along the lines that said I would "be a nice person" polite, etc. while in the gym. Apparently, the "Trainers" didn't have to sign that or abide by that thinking. Not all, but more than a few of the trainers think they are something special, no common courtesy, arrogant and rude. YOU are the employee, WE are the (over) paying customer, so treat us that way. Be sincere, polite, knowledgeable and accommodating. Basically, do your job to make the customer happy (if that's not asking too much) lose the chip on your shoulder. Take the trainer that was explaining to the client, "I think that machine does your legs or something"... Really??? You being a trainer should know what the machines purpose is, but while you are learning there is likely a picture (A PICTURE, you don't even have to read) on it that identifies the muscle group it is intended for. The trainers all flock around the entry like vultures ready to swipe up the next client. I swear when you walk in there is a group of 10 just standing in the entry way ready to pounce. I'm wondering what the fire code occupancy number is and if losing about half of the trainers that aren't doing anything might help out. It's been said multiple times but how about getting some blinds or shades for the west facing windows, so that the sun is not blinding us or beating down on us while we are working out? This gym appears to be all about selling more and more memberships no matter what the actual experience is. I just wanted to share this with those of you that might be considering joining. Don't get me wrong, if you ride a bicycle, have no need for a locker and looking for a personal trainer that you can teach while working out among the masses in the glare of the sun... this is the place for you. Childcare room for toddlers has CHOKING HAZARDS in it!!!! We joined Lifetime prior to opening due to the convenience of the location, but unfortunately it was a major disappointment and we ultimately cancelled our membership. The deal breaker is that prior to opening I was told that they would have a toddler room in the childcare. But when I went to drop my daughter off, I noticed that the "toddler" room had toys in it that are 3+ and a CHOKING hazard to toddlers. When I asked about it, they backtracked and told me it was actually a mixed age room and that their was supervision and they have never had any problems with the small toys. But they have a 1:12 ratio, so their is no way they can watch all the kids at one to make sure a little kid doesn't pick up a toy and choke on it. This is a serious safety concern, so their is no way I'm leaving my daughter there. When I asked about them having told us it was a toddler room before opening, they got wishy washy and said that it is primarily for toddlers (then why do you have toys that are DANGEROUS to toddlers in it?) and they have a sign that calls it the tot space. Seriously??? A sign labeling it as a tot space does not make it a toddler room if they have toys that would have warnings to not give to a child under three if found in a store. Other issues: Looking at their website, if you click on swim it takes you to a page advertising a zero-entry pool with pictures of slides, a mushroom, etc. This is false advertising as the indoor rec pool has no zero entry and no play structures for toddlers (or other kids). It's just a regular pool. Ok for swim class, but pointless if you want to take your little kid to play as they can't stand up in the pool. It's also really dark. When I pointed this false advertising out to the account manager, she agreed with me that it is misleading, but it's still up. We tried parent/child swim lessons since we got a month free by joining early and these were also a disappointment. No songs or games, just skills. You are not going to get babies/young toddlers engaged by telling them to do a skill, you have to make it fun. Family locker rooms are a joke. No changing tables. They also have the lockers/benches in a shared area and then you go into gendered bathrooms to shower/change. But there are no benches in those rooms. So there is no where to put bags/children who aren't walking except the sinks, which makes rinsing off/changing with a pre-walker exceptionally difficult. Clearly whoever designed these locker rooms doesn't have kids. Response time from staff is really slow. I responded to emails advertising swimming classes and personal training and it would regularly take 3-5 days to get any kind of response back. They also mislead about training prices in those emails saying that the cheapest is $109 an hour (which I consider ridiculous), but when I stopped by the trainer desk in the gym, I was told they have trainers who start at $79/hour. They also really try to push their packages which start at 3x a week, so are crazy expensive. Overall, lots of high pressure sales tactics rather than being willing to sell you what you actually want. When I emailed my concerns about childcare, it took them five days to respond and that only happened after I bugged our account manager twice. The account manager was quick with responding until I told her we wanted to cancel and asked her how to do that and then I never heard back from her again (I ended up just going to the gym to cancel). read more

I've been a Life Time member for a few years and have enjoyed the Westminster facility mostly on weekend evenings when it's relatively quiet. The Flatirons facility is disappointing even though it is lovely, clean and full of great equipment and people. I've sent a couple of emails about concerns. I have never received even a "thank you for your input." Not one peep. If you don't respond to emails, get rid of that form on the website, please. They have a swimwear requirement for the locker room spa facilities (steam, sauna and hot tub). I dislike it and find it creepy that anyone cares what I wear. Personally, I would prefer more encouragement for people to SHOWER before using those facilities. I almost canceled but my spouse reminded me that this club is super convenient for me and I do need to workout. So I decided to stay. Anyways, there is a big ugly sign that shouts "PROPER SWIMWEAR REQUIRED" usually blocking the entrance to the spa area. Good luck with that if you have crutches or a wheelchair. Last night, I was in the hot tub wearing a suit and relaxing with a friend. A staffer picked up that sign, carried it towards me and SHOOK it at me with a big "caught you" smile on her face and said "YOU HAVE TO WEAR A SUIT". Then I stood up a bit and she saw that I was wearing a strapless one. And she said "Come over here so we can talk..." I said, "I'm wearing a suit and I don't want to talk about it." She would not leave. She kept demanding my attention FOR SEVERAL MINUTES even though I repeatedly said "I don't want to talk." I wanted to chat with my friend. After I left the hot tub and went to the shower, she came up and tried to engage me again and make me listen to her excuses for her behavior. Ugh. Totally spoiled my well-deserved post-workout post-work week hot tub relaxation time. This is not what I expect for luxury rates. I blame management for not handling this whole nudity thing. My wife and I were extremely disappointed in the customer service we received at this club and unfortunately it's the clubs first day being open too. I had been talking to a sales rep and told him we would be by at night to look at the club and possibly join. I knew the pricing already and we were fine with paying that for a "luxury club" so we head to the gym and when we get there we notice there's an event going on. Well we walk to the doors and we are told we aren't allowed in because there was a VIP event going on. I told the guy I wanted to speak the the rep we talked to because we had planned on joining. He asked some guy in a suit and the guy rudely said no. I was shocked that they weren't allowing people to join. I called the sales rep and he told me I'd have to come back the next day. I mentioned that the promotion they had ended today and I wasn't signing up without actually seeing what equipment was in the gym. He said most people just sign up. Well I told him thanks and nevermind. IF YOU WANT AN EXPENSIVE PLACE TO GO SOCIALIZE THIS IS YOUR SPOT. If you want to go to an actual GYM look elsewhere like we did because there are better places to get in shape for way less. Plus other gyms actually value costumers. read more

Today we went to visit this new facility that has been built next to our apartment complex. As we walked in we were greeted then asked to be seated until someone else can assist you. The gentleman that approached us basically asked what are our interest and we've told him that weight lift and cardio. I have indicated that I was a member of lifetime in a different state. Because of that he did not show us around took us to the cardio place and also the weight left area that was it. Normally fitness centers offer you a week of free trial to gain your interest. The Gentlemen we dealt with all he talked about how much they spent on this gym over 30 million and a membership and how much is the initiation fee. Overall I do not think that this place has any interest for me to join. Overall we were very disappointed and I rather stay with the other two gyms that I'm members off ChuzeFitness and 24 hours. How much of a gym can you use but if you really want to work out and have a clean facility nice people around you ChuzeFitness is a place and you don't have to pay 180 a month.
