Probably the best gym I have ever been to. This place is clean and well maintained, which for a gym, is usually all I need. But Lifetime had more, Staff was friendly and worked me out a nice deal (I was traveling to Columbus weekly for about 6 months). This is about as full service as a gym gets. Huge pool, several racquet ball courts, 2 full basketball courts, countless treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and stair machines, huge free weight area, all the machines are in great shape. They provide plenty of towels to use during your workout, and have a huge locker room with a heavy duty digital scale, not one of those junk bathroom scales that many gyms try to get away with. I hate the fact that I had to leave that awesome gym to return to my crappy LA fitness. read more

Really depends on who you are but the cost is excessive even personal trainers . Most of the clientele during the weekday is stay at home moms or wives & retired older ladies. They r all very fit and chatty with staff and each other . Can be intimidating to those who not at their caliber of fitness . Majority of the front desk and the general manager are friendly & professional . Some of the sales, operations, and training staff are rude and will only direct their attention to those in their inner circle . Probably why there has been so much turnover lately . I was invited as a guest with the potential to become a member. It was ok. I was luckier than most of the reviewers and had a pleasant experience with some of the other people actually working out on machines. Yes, there are quite a few rather rude persons who work out and talk LOUD on their phone while doing so. Lucky for me, I listen to my earbuds and just walk away. I could NEVER join a gym where I can't finish the workout I started. The 2 stars? It is because of the pool experience. Totally gross. There was a woman in total burqa garb and she went into the pool in it. Yuck. They make modesty swim suits if she wanted to swim. Wearing clothes that you wear on the street is just filthy. Then they had kids who were running around and jumping every which way and no staff stopped any of this. Decided to try the hot tub but a couple was making out in the corner and she literally was riding up and down on her boyfriend in a public place! Yuck. Had to leave. The lady cleaning the bathrooms was the only staff member that I ever saw the whole visit and she was very nice. I told her why I was leaving. She said she would tell the management team. read more

The facility is very nice, there is a group of Somalians that over run the locker room after 9pm and just hang out in there the whole time. I've been to a lot of gyms and they usually have one thing in common. They are worse than a crooked used car dealer when it comes to memberships. Not only is Lifetime a VERY nice and fully equipped gym, it also has NO used car dealers. I found their salespeople to be very upfront and fair. They charge a flat $60/month. The only "deals" might be on application/admin fees. I think these are usually around $100 (one time fee), but they run specials from time to time with no (or lower) ap fees. I was very disappointed by both Bally's and LifeSTYLES and their aggressive, confusing, sales tactics. LifeTIME was much better, definitely recommend! read more

If there is a better workout facility in Columbus other than Lifetiime Fitness, you will have to make a strong case. I was a member in 2004 and rejoined recently after cutting some costs. But recently I have been in the workout doldrums and I felt that Lifetime's variety - weights, machines, swimming and classes - would jumpstart my mindset and I definitely feel rejuvenated in my health mission. For one thing, the place is not only huge - but it is first rate when it comes to ammenities. They have two class studios, a climbing wall, basketball courts, full length swiimming pool, hot tub, wet and dry sauna and a treadmill that is grooved to feel more like the road. They also have an onsite massage room and cafe in case you want to grab a snack to charge up or wind down. The classes are really diverse - kickboxing comes in two forms: one class you hit the bag, the other you work with a weight bar. There are different degrees of yoga from a lighter stretch session to more challenging one hour classes where you really bend, balance and burn. The service is high quality and has more of a resort feel - my only "criticism" is that they are really sales heavy about getting paired up with a personal trainer. If you want a trainer, there are individual and group training sessions but for me it was a no I had to repeat a few times. They really want you to do the personal training route and will put on the press when you sign up with a free session lure. If you have any questions about the club or its programs, their staff is readily available - it seems like they constantly work around the clock. So you might think this costs a ton - but it's only $59 for a single club membership. I personally think it is better to pay a little more as it's easy to skip the gym when you are only paying $25. Facilities are nice but there are always a few cardio machines that are out of commission. Since I have not gone in a few months, I decided to cancel my membership. Needless to say, I got screwed by being forced to pay for another month (45 days to be exact) that I would not use their facilities. Additionally, they charged me a $15 cancellation fee and blamed it on "corporate policy." I will NOT go back. Planet Fitness is less than a block from Lifetime and only charge $10.21/mo (for the same equipment I used at LT). Compare this to L.T.'s $40/mo per person fees and it's a no-brainer. Even if you choose Planet Fitness' higher membership (about $20/mo and an annual $29 fee), you're still saving a ton of money. This membership gives you free access to all their other features too so check them out FIRST. NOTE: I do NOT work for P.F.! Yes. I am bitter about the cancellation fee and the required 45 extra days that I have to pay for something I'm not using. read more

I've been a member for about a month and so far, so good! Yes it's pricey (for a single membership it's approx. $70/month) but the cost alone has motivated me to go. My usual MO is to join a gym (i.e. a scene like Planet Fitness) and happily spend $20 a month to not go after the first few times. There is nothing environmentally motivating about gyms like Planet or Snap. WYSIWYG. Lifetime Fitness on the other hand has a lot of intrinsic value that is not outwardly visible. Group classes. Fitness clubs. Pools. Hot tubs. Saunas. Steam rooms. Towel service. Basketball courts. Climbing wall. Daycare. Spa. Cafe. It's a genuine pleasure walking into their facility and that alone has kept me motivated. I can agree with several reviews that their sales team is quite relentless with the push for personal training. A few assessments come bundled with your initial membership and depending on your goals, you can sign on for more. It's all proprietary, so you can definitely make training decisions on your own based on your skill levels, knowledge and again, fitness goals. There are people here of all sizes, shapes and all walks of life. Everyone is very friendly and encouraging. Despite everyone being at all fitness levels, there is a mutual respect that everyone is there to increase their quality of life. read more

The managers were extremely rude to me...I had a situation where I ended up not being able to pay my dues this month bc of financial difficulties due to unexpected medical bills and they took my money anyway! Given my propensity for discovering the best cupcakes in any town I am, I need a good gym to keep up with my eating habits. Thankfully, Lifetime is there for me. When I lived in Minnesota I had a membership to Lifetime, and I loved it - so clearly this was my first choice for gyms here in town. Thankfully, Lifetime does not disappoint. Lets see... what do I love about this location? + The attached parking garage - so nice! Yes, it can get crowded during peak mall times, but I come later in the evenings, and I have never had a problem getting decent parking. Plus, covered parking which is so nice given our rainy fall we've had so far + How clean and shiny everything is. This location was just remodeled in September and it shows. Plus, there is a strong commitment from Lifetime to be constantly cleaning. Their effort really shows and I appreciate knowing that a public gym is a clean as possible, + The personal training desk. Yes, they try to suck you into personal training sessions - but when you sign up they typically have free sessions wrapped into the initial enrollment fee. Take advantage of those! I'm cheap, and have tried plenty of these free sessions with trainers around the country, and I have been so impressed with Jessica and the others at the desk. They are great and help you get comfortable with the club environment - which for someone naturally uncoordinated and not very athletic is great. ~ The pool area. This gets just an ok from me. The huge spas are great for after your workout, and I love the sauna. The lap pool is small - only 5 lanes. So far I have yet to wait for a lane, but I'm also going at non-peak times in order to avoid that probability with only 5 lanes. The kids pool area seems nice - and always in use. The steam room in the locker room I would place in this category. I adore this, and this was my favorite feature of my Lifetime gym in Minnesota. They often put some sort of eucalyptus or menthol type oil in the steam to make it smell nice... however, at this location it can be hit or miss with that. Sometimes it clearly has run out, and the steam room just smells of sweat, which is not so relaxing. + The huge workout space upstairs - seriously - there are so many machines I have never seen it anywhere near full, and there is always plenty of options. Love it! Also, they have the stair climbers I adore - which are actually stairs on a treadmill type thing, instead of just the two pedals which you can cheat on. + 24 hour access.... Love this! I could probably go on... but you get this hint. Yes, it is a bit pricier than some other gyms in the area, but there is a commitment here to make it the best gym possible, and I think Lifetime achieves that. read more

Great gym. This is my gym that I go to. After being a member of much worse gyms like Planet Fitness and Snap Fitness, this is a breathe of fresh air. Yes, it is expensive but worth it for me. I want to lose weight and get muscular. Only issue so far is their bathrooms could be cleaner. The toilets have been smelly when I was there last time. Also, shower floors are very slippery!!!But, I love all they have to offer: lap pool, hot tubs, workout room, sauna, steam room, showers, etc. There are also classes, personal trainers and other stuff which I have not tried yet. I needed to join a gym to get myself in shape so checked out a bunch of places online and decided to go for a tour at Life Time in Easton. Well the good news is the club has a ton of amenities. Now the bad news I just feel that the Lifetime machine is all about money and not about people. I ended up joining , you really don't have a choice once your there.....lol. After that it just seemed to go downhill. They have this thing where you schedule an appointment with a personal trainer and they put you on a treadmill to sell you a cardio watch and personal training. The watch isn't a bad idea however, you can get it about $20 cheaper online. They tell you they will set it up for you based on your VO2 max test and make sure it works properly. Okay so the test and mask you need cost about $99. I looked around online and found a place in Worthington called baseline fitness that will do the same test a bod pod body fat analysis and a resting metabolism test for $199. So after the VO2 and watch pitch comes the personal training sell. It also doesn't sound like a bad idea until the prices. Starts at like $70 an hour and goes up from there. Keep in mind the monthly membership is $70 per month. I did not purchase any of the services there for two reasons 1. Everything was just too expensive, especially the personal training. I mean there are classes they offer(free) that do more good in an hour then being put in awkward positions or strange balancing acts on bosu balls. 2. They (trainers)keep following up with you every time you're in the club. It gets to the point where you go out of your way to avoid them. I struck a friendship with one of the trainers after a bit and got the scoop. They are paid commission on all of the stuff the pitch to you. The testing , watch and training. That explains a lot.....lol. So after 6 months at Lifetime I cancelled my membership joined LA Fitness for half the monthly price got my testing at baseline fitness my watch on amazon and have dropped about 20lbs in 3 months. read more

I used to like going here but honestly they run classes during peak hours and you get kicked off regardless of if you were there first. If your part of the class you are treated like a first class citizen and the rest of the people regardless of where you are in your workout are forced by the rude staff to get off the machine so their golden members can use it. 10 days ago, my husband was robbed in the mans locker room, documents, credit cards and cash were stolen from him, from a closed cell in the men's locker room, the management of this club took absolutely no steps to try to find a robber, the day after the theft was the club assured us with a smile that my husband just didn't close his closet, although it's not 100% true, because my husband came back after classes in the cardio zone and his closet was CLOSED! he opened it, got dressed and only then found that the wallet with all the documents and money was gone, the money from the credit cards were immediately stolen, this suggests that their storage system is in the men's locker room, consisting of a combination lock-notnot reliable or stealing the one who works in this hall, and they cover up, I so know that this is not the first case of stealing in this club, so guys, be careful, you pay your money for the service, but have no but you have no guarantees that when you return from a workout your values ​​will be in place, and the manager simply pats the tebch on the shoulder, with the words: it happens to everyone, man!! read more

My friend and I were looking for the ice cream shop located pretty close to this gym. We accidentally walked into the gym and I noticed it clearly wasn't an ice cream shop, I said wait this is the wrong place. The young lady at the reception counter by the name of KAILEY was horribly rude. She said excuse me how can I help you and I said oh I'm sorry and right as I was trying to speak she interrupted and said umm you need to walk over here on this side of the counter to talk to me. Kailey, you must think the world revolves around you, reality check it doesn't girl, sorry. I told her no, I wasn't walking over there that she could hear me just fine where I was and that we were just looking for the ice cream shop and accidentally walked in. Her response, "I can't help you with that." I said oh okay wow, what is your name? She said why, what's up in a very aggressive tone. I said because I would like to know who I'm complaining about when I yelp your customer service. She didn't say anything else. On the way out I told her that she should treat everyone with respect that walks through that door because that is HER job. I won't be using this facility in the future. Last week I made an appointment to get my hair highlighted and trimmed at Life Spa. Today when I arrived for my hair appointment (5 minutes early) I was told that she didn't have time to do my hair. She could maybe fit in a trim but not a highlight.. While telling me this she was standing at her station doing her OWN hair! I work a few minutes away had to leave work early this evening and rush home to make this hair appointment.. I also skipped my yoga sculpt class at the gym to make this hair appointment. I am disappointed and somewhat disgusted at the lack of customer service and poor attitudes in the Life Spa. The receptionist never apologized to me and had the audacity to ask if i wanted to reschedule for another time. poor attitudes and poor service!!!!!!! read more

Horrible daycare! I took my kids 3 times. Hoping it was probably just a busy day. Nope. The LTF in pickerington ohio is only open fro. 8 to 12...and again from 4pm to 9pm... only 2 people work in the day care and there are so many babies they have to put them with the big kids...where they are stepping on the babies hands crawling around! My baby had her pacifier and other kids were touching her pacifier. Today (3day bringing them after 4weeks of not going) this time i tried the mornings hoping it would be less full....nope. this time i didn't bring my daughters pacifier...oh but she was sucking on someone else's pacifier!! The girl checking in parents and checking out....had her hands full kids were getting in or out of the daycare and she is trying to keep the kids i while keeping the ones not checked in out while....checking in and out parents...the other girl is busy with the 10 babies in a 10x10x space. Its ******* horrible!! Ewww! And reporting this location to health and wellness! Please do the same if u agree and witness to these violations!! They need at least 3 employees and if possible more hours so not every parent comes during a short window time frame!! read more

The actual gym is decent, but the people who work in the office have way too much attitude, when I went to cancel my membership, they were very rude and said how I need to give one months notice, and then they wanted to know why I would ever cancel membership from the best gym in the world- I mean it's a good gym but I've seen better.. And people working there are way too arrogant. I think their group fitness classes are also pretty good but they don't have enough classes for after work hours so it's difficult to pay that much money for membership and not even have enough classes. read more

I've been going here for almost six years. I used to really enjoy it. Over the past couple months I've started to consider going somewhere else. I am paying $72 a month to go to a nicer gym. This gym is no longer "nicer" in my opinion. Every time I turn around there is someone trying to sell me something. I don't want to have to hold off sales people. I just want to work out. It used to be only certain nights of the week were busy. Every time I go now it is busy and it's hard to work out with so many people. Not only that, but they have classes on the gym floor during busy nights taking up room and equipment making it very hard to get a good workout. There is not enough room for all these people. I'm sure they are raking in the dough with all the new clients but they are about to lose a bunch because I'm not paying this fee to not have a good workout. Also, the clientele is getting more and more inconsiderate. They need to post rules and start enforcing them. I'm tired of hearing people yapping on the phone or to each other. I can hear them over my headphones which tells you how loud they are. I've had people run into me. Camp out on equipment. Hog the benches in the locker room. It's getting to the point I'm irritated the entire time I'm there. Then they had the Gahanna swim team practicing one night a week. That also made the locker room miserable full of loud, hyper teenage girls. For this price, I expect a lot more. I also used to like it because we have access to the Gahanna public pool in the summer. However that pool has also gone down. They have so many swim meets, it's very difficult to get open lanes there to do laps. I'm strongly considering saving my money. I can be treated poorly somewhere else for a lot less money. read more

This place is horrible. The salesperson,Sara, kept calling harassing me to join. When I went in to meet her she said "what? You don't call me back? I've called several times!" She then threw a fit in the lobby when I didn't join right away saying I wasted her time. I asked to speak to a manager because I was appalled by the treatment I received and she said there was no manager there. I was a loyal member here previously for 3 years and am shocked to be treated this way because a salesperson needs to meet her quota. At least I saved myself $70 a month. There is a guest who rides the stationary bike everyday barefoot. He also wraps about 5 towels around the equipment - probably to catch his sweat. The worst part is he NEVER wipes down the equipment after use. This is a health hazard, right?! I've complained several times to the facility but to no avail. They probably do not want to confront this guy. Sadly this is the only gym where I can go on my lunch hour and get back to work. The $70 /single membership is such a waste. I joined with the kids because they sold me on the pool and the water slide. Turns out the water slide is only open for a couple hours Friday night and a few hours Saturday and Sunday afternoons and if a lifeguard calls off or doesn't show up they don't open it because they say they are under staffed. Supposed to open at 2:00 today so we have been waiting around and they kept saying it would be open at 2. It's 2:30 and no slide and the two lifeguards on duty say the head lifeguard has to turn it on and open it and he left but is supposed to be back soon. It's the same thing every time I take them to the pool. They never get to do the water slide. Sounded good in the sales pitch!! read more

Lifetime Fitness is a great place to work out. The place is huge. It is pricey, but it is the price you pay if you want to be "pampered" Granite tiles and counter tops cover the place. There is an abundance of exercise equipment. They offer two classrooms, child daycare, two huge pools, and nice locker rooms. read more
