Definitely the best gym in Indy. I wish they had more locations, now that I've moved to eagle creek they are too far away so I have to join the abysmal L.A. fitness. The staff seems genuinely interested in your success and not in taking your money. The facilities are very clean, nice, and you never have to wait for a specific set of equipment. Amazingly horrible customer service. My wife went in tonight to get a family membership based on a call from a salesman calling her with a program offer. But Kate was an absolute horror to deal with. My husband and I were members and decided to cancel our membership as I got later into my pregnancy. We not only provided a letter notifying this location, but I presented the letter in person to the appropriate representative. They explained that we could put our membership on hold for $10/month in case we wanted to come back and that the membership would not automatically re-up without notice. We took advantage of this opportunity for a few months before realizing that we wouldn't be reactivating the membership because we no longer had time to visit the gym with a newborn. Once again, I contacted the appropriate representative to notify him that we didn't have an interest in reactivating the membership and that we also wanted to stop keeping our account on hold. We were later charged a monthly fee, and when I followed up the membership liason said that I didn't follow the appropriate procedures and would charge me for the month. He transferred me to Member Relations where I was treated with the same attitude. We jumped through every hoop they put in front of us, with written proof nonetheless, yet they still went ahead and reactivated our membership. This experience left us with a very bad perception of this club. read more

In the 20+ years that I've lived in Indianapolis, I've belonged to a number of gyms, including old standards like the Y, and newer entries like LA Fitness. Lifetime has to be the best I've ever belonged to. Their training staff is better than any I've encountered in Indy. And, with an indoor and outdoor pool, café. hair salon and massage therapy on-site, few fitness centers compare. The locker rooms even have steam rooms, and the public areas include whirlpools and saunas. It's a little bit more $$, but you certainly get more than what you pay for. read more

Well it's nice someone did respond but I already spoke with the gym manager and if he would've look at my account he would've seen we barely even went because I only use the steam room I don't work out and it was closed for quite some time since I only had a membership for less than two months - just not ethical to make someone pay an extra month after they already missed out on a month of time due to renovations without a decreased amount. Thank you for your response but I will not waste my breathe on the 1-888# the castle creek club GM didn't care a word of what I said and I won't waste my time on another avenue with this company given my experience. Your sales rep Eric who great talked us into like $200 LT bucks some of which we haven't even used! Used $100 on massage where I knew the entire life story of your massage therapists. Where I went to relax in a private environment I was being encouraged to guess their age!! Yeah...not fun when you literally invested in this entity to make your life easier & more relaxing and end up being screwed over. Pretty pricey, but definitely worth every penny. Lifetime's one of the only places open 24/7 which is super convenient because I usually like working out at night. They have incredible amenities, two hot tubs, sauna, steam showers, even a tanning room! To top that all off there's a cafe and a salon/massage parlor built right in. All the machines are well maintained and new and you almost never have to wait to use them. read more

Clean, well equipped gym with loads of really nice extras. I've been a member of several gyms and this one is hands down the best; I've been with Life Time for almost two years. The staff keeps things very tidy and has been friendly and responsive. I discovered some broken equipment at the beginning of my workout today and by the time I got to the desk to report it the staff was already working on it. The towels are always well stocked and the locker rooms are generally pristine. I've never felt pressured into purchasing supplements, classes or training sessions which tells me that the manager isn't a tyrant. The Life Spa is awesome; Kyla has been keeping my hair looking amazing for about four years now and Cheryl gives the best pedicure ever. The Life Cafe has fantastic food and Abby and Jim have always been courteous and accommodating. Honestly if there is a downside it's that a few of the clientele don't have the decency to wipe down their machines or pick up after themselves, although that's not the norm. Considering all of the amenities at this gym you get a lot of bang for your buck. A membership here is a steal! read more

I adore Lifetime fitness. I was a member years ago, and had to cancel my membership due to financial obligations. But once again things are on the right track and I am now back a member. Yes, they are a high prices gym and I am not to fund of there policy on bringing a guest. However with that said the staff there has never failed me of course there are one or two rotten apples there but for the most part the staff is amazing and very friendly the equipment is up to date and I never have to wait on a machine and welp the cafe is great if you forget to bring your own protein shake. read more

Great trainers and great child care. My wife works out with a trainer and has had the best results she's ever had in the gym. She is also more motivated to keep attaining fitness goals. All the good things I read here I agree with. The child care was wonderful when our kids were small. They both learned to swim at lifetime. You should go there. It IS worth a little more $, and I think the higher price keeps the member caliber a little higher. I had one issue which eventually caused us to drop. We were early birds and signed up before the club was complete. They siad they never raise prices. Extremely rude and condescending. They acted like they were above you. This is a gym for rich white ladies, and this is even coming from a blonde white girl. Came here for an event and they treated us like criminals. We were followed into the bathroom once an employee said "make sure they don't hide in there." We were in there for two minutes and I didn't feel welcomed at all. It really made question my event leaders character. Extremely exclusive, was really excited and now I'm just bummed. One of the most exclusive clubs I have ever stepped into. Came for an event and had a guest pass for the day and was stopped by the receptionist and had a guest pass for the day and was told "you can't be here" You. Can't. Be. Here. Seriously? Could you be any more condescending and rude towards potential customers? Was let in to go to the bathroom if I "promised to leave right away" and was then followed into the bathroom by an employee to ensure I didn't "hide in the bathroom" if I wasn't here for a specific event that I paid a lot for would have left. Will never return to this gym. I have never been to a more exclusive, keep out if you aren't like us, we don't want you here, you're not good enough gym. Would not recommend to anyone guests or potential members. If this was my first experience with a gym it would make me want to never return. You're supposed to be able to feel safe and not judged and able to work on getting fit. This gym is none of that. read more

I am disabled and was assured that January 31st was the last of a special to sign up. I signed up for the 14 day FREE trail. I was not ever able to get to the facility as the person who takes me needs a closer gym. I had already spoke to Jeremy (spelling may be incorrect) that this may be an issue. I called FIVE times to cancel the membership and spoke with him each time. Never did he return my call. I have now spoken to Eric, who is supposedly the Manager and I was to hear from them to resolve this by 5:00 p.m. today. it is 4:15 now and no one has called. I have explained I am disabled and that I cannot get up there to argue and sign a paper. I told them to email me the document they want signed but they would not do it yet. Now why do I to sign to get out of the contract but not to get into the contact. I would not ever go there simple because of the games. Even though I was told it is a great GYM, I was also warned that the staff is simply out to gouge you. Sad,because I find people who solve issues instead of creating them have successful businesses. read more

Gonna give this gym a solid 3. I was a member here for a few months & I got a decent deal for the initiation, got the 2 training sessions & 150 LT bucks. I got a call one day about some 60 day program which I was told was FREE so I said, heck yeah, if you're telling me it's free. What I didn't know///what was left OUT of that conversation is that it would cost my some LT bucks. I nipped it and just said whatever it's for my health.. did the program but was linked with a PT who wanted to help me and I went ahead & paid the extra $350 for small classes. I enjoyed the sessions but they got too repetitive and we did the same workouts all the time, so it wasn't worth my money anymore. I loved this gym, even though it costed me way too much, I enjoyed it & everyone was nice. I was looking for a part time job and the trainer is telling me that they have openings for front desk... had an interview, 2 in fact & I never ONCE received a call if I got the job or not, instead I got emails from the trainer asking me when I was going to pay him for more sessions... honestly after my interview the manager said "when you're out helping clients, you're acting". That in itself made not want to give this gym anymore of my money. my cousin attended this gym & cancelled her membership after her daughter and nephew (2 & 3) were being sexually harrassed at the kids club and the kids club manager refused to show her the tapes, or help them find who was doing this, even after putting a complaint in with CPS & Corporate. I decided to cancel my membership b/c after all these events I just felt everyone in this establishment was money hungry & superficial af. I don't regret going here, as I did learn a lot of information throughout my time here, and the gym in itself offers A LOT, but I don't like the "salesman" mentality here... the boys club shows! read more

17 year olds can become a member without parent consent but guests under 18 can't get in without it. Looks like I'll just go back to the normal gyms. Also the hosts were not clear about any way I could get in or how any of this made sense. Appeared like they truly didn't care. Definitely would not recommend for any guests. read more

I used to go to this 24hr gym when I lived in Indianapolis. They are outstanding. Very clean, new equipment, and nice big jacuzzi's and swimming pools. they have racquetball and basketball as well as may classes. they provide clean towels as well. Just know that when you join they will try to sell you additional services. They cost a bit more but there's a reason for it. I wish the Buffalo NY area had a Lifetime Fitness. read more

No one was working the front desk at 11PM on a Tuesday. I saw members wait for over 10 minutes to get in, let in by the cleaning people who were listening to music and not very attentive to the doorbell. It appears upper management gets applauded from his superiors for undercutting the budget, since I see and have heard from many how repairs are not done, there are places where the wall is falling apart and it's patched up with plastic. They will no longer be a 24hr gym and will close 4hrs in the early morning, which is a budget decision no doubt, but people are paying for a 24hr gym. I have seen weaves, yes human hair on the shower room floor. There are times when you make it through the gross shower experience and there are no towels, so I put on my pants while I'm still wet, and look for wash cloths used for the gym. I've been a member for going on two years, I keep going here since it's convenient for my wife. read more

By far the worst gym in Indy. If I could give them zero stars I would. The staff are unprofessional and fail to communicate effectively. My husband got into a serious car accident in July, so he called in to freeze his membership. He was told via phone that it would be taking care of. A month later we were charged full price for his membership because we did not come in to freeze the account however the staff never told us we had to. To remedy the miscommunication Lifetime offered to freeze his account and refund us in gym bucks that could be used for other amenities at the gym. A month later after finding out the seriousness of the injury and the amount of care he would need I went in to cancel my membership again the staff told me she'd take care of it. Fast forward 7 months later we were still getting charged they owe us over $400 in gym fees for a membership that should have been canceled 7 months. My husband and I went to go speak with the manager who basically said he had to stand by his staff even though they had miscommunicated before, and there was nothing he could do. Save yourself the hassle! Go to this gym at your own risk. Always leave with something in writing as Lifetime is sneaky and will lie and deny. I would not recommend this gym it is over priced with equipment that is barely operative. The restrooms always smell horrible and most importantly they do not have honest staff. Save your coin and go to LA Fitness, PF, or Anytime. read more

Beware of Lifetime Fitness on the north side and any other Lifetime Fitness that is. I understand there name, Lifetime, because that is what they want. You as a member for Life and they will do whatever it takes to accomplish that. They will double charge your debit/credit card, treat you rudely and it will take months of calls, visits and e-mails to recoupe your money. As long as you expect to never stop paying the $100 a month that it costs, don't enter into there bogus contracts....read the fine print, because they will hold you to it, no matter what. My bank, Chase, down the street warned me about Lifetime and how many complaints they get from there customers about unauthorized charges and how much headache they cause there members. Lifetime is the best gym for success for me. The trainers know what it take to succeed in real life. They understand that most people work and need to fit their workouts with their busy schedule. I workout there even though there are other places to workout and I have a workout room at my apartment complex. I do work in the salon but would chose to have a membership there even if I didn't work there. I was a member there even before working there. read more

The facility is nice and the staff there are friendly. They offer you so much perks to try to lure you in to sign up. However, it goes away once you sign up. The person who registered us no longer replies to our email and when you email their customer service, you don't get a reply. They also put me on hold for 19 minutes when I called their number and forwarded me to a voicemail which I never got a call back. It's nice until you have issues with your membership them nobody helps you. For me, when the customer service support is bad, the company is too. I agree with the review above by JT. I was a member 5 years ago of Lifetime fitness club in Indianapolis and the lifetime fitness charged me two more months after I canceled my membership... Now my kids were looking for a swimming pool and I decided to sign up for a membership again and I tried to pay by checks every month but they didn't let me. They want to put your credit card on file so they would have control over the situation. Obviously, you may reamburse your money on your credit card, if you did cancel but they still charged you, but why do you need all this hassle? Why can't people be more professional? read more

I was happy with the club until I went to cancel. I found out that the Meridian was closing for 7 months, and I knew that would have trouble getting to the gym with all of the construction. I live in Westfield, IN and I did not want to have to spend 30-45 minutes getting to the gym every day. (I mean this is an hour out of my day just to get to the gym, not even work out!). As soon as I found about the construction, I asked to cancel my membership. They told me that despite the construction I would still have to pay the next month once I canceled. I tried to reach an agreement with the manager on waiving this fee or at least some of it (I had been a long time member and was leaving because of a situation that was out of my hands), and he would not. I thought that it was stupid have to pay for a month when I was not going to be at the gym....but whatever he was following policy I guess. The manager tried to get me to freeze my account, but I thought it would be stupid to pay for a new gym and an old gym frozen account. I decided to cancel and just pay the price. My husband was the main account holder, and went to cancel our memberships. He was made to wait for the manager, and then told that I would have to come in myself, even though I had already personally talked to the manager (stupid). I came in to cancel, and was made to wait while the manager acted like he was too busy to help me. A few other things to keep in mind about this club. -They will try and sell you on the TVs on the machines, but most do not work -At least one stair master will always be broken -If you were given guest passes when you signed up, they will become "INVALID" when you try and use them. They will claim that you must pay for your guests because their policy has changed. Guess what...a guest pass is $20, $40 if they come without a member. I DO NOT think that one gym workout it worth that much money, and I am an avid gym goer. I mean are they CRAZY. -You will pay $45 for a membership ($60 at some)...EXPENSIVE!!! The equipment is NOT any better than any other gym. I actually do not like the ellipticals that they have in the cardio area. My advice is to go to LA Fitness. I have joined the Carmel/ Westfield LA Fitness, and could not be happier. The variety of equipment is much better, and the prices are actually more affordable. We were given 4 week guest passes to use, as well as personal training benefits. While I would NEVER join a Lifetime fitness again, I would like to make note of the hard working employees at the facility. The employees at the Merdian Lifetime were wonderful. Most of the front desk employees were very friendly, and the facility was always kept very clean. Robert (head of maintenance) does a wonderful job of keeping the facility running smoothly, and they are lucky to have such a hard worker. The personal trainers are also very nice! While I made many friends at the facility, and like most of the workers, I was not pleased with the management, and club policies. I would caution you before joining the club. Read the fine print about all fees, and expect for "policies" to change. read more

Hands down best gym in Indianapolis. Everything is spaced out very well, and it is very rare that you have to wait on a bench or a machine. It's very clean and I was told they audit their equipment weekly so barbells, dumbbells are tight, machines working properly, etc. They also just recently updated all their equipment. Locker rooms are top of the line, aquatics area is clean and perfect for the size of the club (2 hot tubs, 6 lane pool, children's swimming area, slides, outdoor pool, sauna). All the staff is exceptionally friendly, you can tell the club truly cares about their members. I know that I'm paying for more than just a gym membership - I'm paying to a phenomenal company that I can tell is taking fitness and community in a great direction. The club also has quite a bit to offer for children. I have come in to work out and seen them having father daughter dances, Halloween parties, etc. I wouldn't recommend ANY other gym in the area. read more
