This gym has everything you need, top of the line equipment, pool, steam room, hot tub, sauna, you name it they have it (you are paying for it, its not cheap) I enjoy working out here, the only drawback is there are a lot of tools that do workout here and you have to be able to block them out. Besides the tools best gym around. Tool= guy wearing a sweatshirt no sleeves hood up baseball hat, gallon water jug filled with a strange color liquid, taking 15 minutes between sets talking to another tool when you want to use that bench or machine, and he never puts his weights away...... just don't be a tool this gym has to many. I left La Fitness a few months ago due to the clientele being less than desirable, filthy showers, cardio section on 2nd floor had no air flow....anyway I'm back to Lifetime Fitness after being a member from 2001-2006, why did I ever leave here? Yes it's more expensive but u get what u pay for. Everything is top shelf here, I've seen a messy shower but 10 min later it's cleaned, the girls are always cleaning the locker room. The cardio equipment is fantastic, love the individual tv's. I've taken small group classes with personal trainer Christine, she is great! I'm currently training with Jennifer, she is a real inspiration & works me hard, believe me I need it. I have learned so much in just a couple short months from the employees at Lifetime, I LOVE LOVE LOVE going here, makes my workout experience easier, I actually look forward to it! read more

As a homewood suites guest, I was allowed free access into Lifetime Fitness during my stay in Orland Park, so I decided to give it a try. Unlike some of the other reviewers noted, I didn't get the 'meat market' vibe of Lifetime Fitness. But then again, at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, it was pretty empty. Perhaps it's different during the week. First of all, the place is RIDICULOUSLY huge. My gym at home is about a third the size, so I was dealing with some major shock here! Lots of treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bikes, weight machines, etc. I had no problem hopping on a treadmill and going at it for as long as I wanted. The staff here is cordial, but cold. I assume with so many members, it's hard to get to know the individuals, so they don't even bother. There is a cafe/juice bar located in the lobby. Prices seemed reasonable. If I lived in the area, I wouldn't make this my home gym, but it served its purpose during my trip here, so no major complaints! read more

If you are looking for a gym that can offer you everything under one roof, then lifetime has it. indoor and outdoor pools, lap pool, spa, saunas, basketball, rock climbing, racquetball, golf lessons, child care, cafe and hair salon. All this just on the first floor. second floor has all your standard workout equipment, bikes, treadmills, free weights, machines. They also have a variety of classes from aerobics, spinning etc. There is plenty of equipment for all, at times it can get very crowded and you might have to wait. Also personal trainers available. But some issues they need to work on are equipment breakdowns, takes a long time before repairs are done. Locker/Showers can get FUNKY...ICKY BAD..Always where shoes or something bad will happen to your feet.. Management needs to step up and work on the cleaning a little better. I have been a member on and off for years. I joined the Burr Ridge location after trying this location and Romeoville. These clubs are ridiculously over crowded. Membership needs to be capped at some point and the point has passed. I heard there is an XSport opening in Lockport I can't wait for that. No one should have to wait to use the sauna. There are so many kids in the pool lanes that there are only 2 lap lanes for adults. I can only blame the corporation itself because I am sure there are never ensimg quotas to make. People will keep coming because there are no other luxury gyms in this area. read more

Do NOT sign up! They only care about money - HORRIBLE customer service! My husband and I have essentially been donating money to this gym for years. We had memberships we weren't using, so we eventually put our memberships on hold for $10 a month. They don't tell you that your membership will automatically go back to the full amount. READ FINE PRINT because they purposely withhold this information. THE WORST PART... My husband went in, cancelled our on-hold memberships. He remembers the woman that cancelled our memberships, can explain what she looks like perfectly, AND Lifetime admitted that this employee no longer works for them. Turns out she DID NOT cancel our membership. We TRUSTED THEIR STAFF to do a simple task, and instead, we were charged for 4 additional months. That's $450 they took from us, when we NEVER went to the gym, and believed our memberships to be cancelled. Even though Lifetime knows the staff member that lied to us - they did NOTHING to refund our money. Had us call corporate, who also did NOTHING. Unresponsive staff and managers; harassing sales calls by different departments; 10 minutes late for classes and activities. I joined the club to work out, but for $89 a month my experience was met with frustration. When I would leave a message to inquire about a club or program, no one would call back. But on the other hand, the personal training department would call me twice a day. Their famous line was, "it is club policy". For instance, the rock climbing wall always opened late. Their staff could not seem to get there on time. It is their club policy to not open until 2 member report to the desk. I guess it is their club policy to inconvenience members. And the icing on the cake is when they started charging me $89 a month three months after I canceled. When I joined this place I started to go early in the morning because my afternoons and nights were full. Nice place and there was plenty of equipment to use. I also liked that there was not alot of people at that time. BUT, on my first time there I realized something. This was a meat market. The guys were there to hit on the women and the women went there to get hit on. I immediately thought "affairs-affairs" LOL. I was hit on by two of these guys, I think they work as a team, they both started to talk to me at the same time. I blew them off, days later they tried again. I finally changed the time I went so more people would be around and I thought I could lose these guys. I talked to my husband about this and he (naturally PO'd) told me that some guys on the force told him about this place and ALL the crap that goes on there and alll the affairs. I am a fitness fanatic. I have been working out for many years and have the body to prove it.... this gym sucks! From the moment I walk in ... people want to talk... gossip in the locker room to the dudes trying to pick me up while I'm trying to work out! Very annoying! I just moved back to the area after years in San Francisco... this gym is nothing compared to the gyms in Cali..people see me and want to know where I've been.. want to catch up! It is a very nice gym. It is expensive. For the price I'm paying I feel like there should be someone wiping down every inch of equipment and free weights all day. With how busy it is the equipment should be getting fulling sanitized. The hot tub- the jets hardly work! The showers could be cleaner. They are a nice size and I love that there is a curtain and not a door. Towels- to small! It's a gym- people come here to lose weight... meaning over weight people come here and the small thin towels don't make it. Like the towels just need be 6 inches longer and 6 inches wider. At least offer a better bigger size. The current towels are great for my hair. Staff is always very friendly- but the lady with the gray hair that works in the locker room. she seems so angry. There is another lady that works in the locker room. About older 40s younger 50s Brown shoulder length hair that is always styled so nicely. Beautifully done make up. Love love love this gym. My husband and I are looking for houses in the area and accidentally happened upon this gym while looking for things in the area. We signed up on the spot even though we still currently live about 30 minutes away. We loved it that much. And we go to the gym twice a day so it says a lot that we are willing to make the drive. It's a great atmosphere with so much to do and really keeps you motivated to get up and go. The staff is friendly and I love that I can bring my daughter along to swim and do activities as well. I am visiting family and wanted to find a place to workout. I went here on a day pass. The gym is amazing. Lots of racks to do squats, rack pulls etc and lots of platforms for deadlifting. I really like all of the classes and staff at this Lifetime, but I agree with other yelpers that this Lifetime is not maintained as well as some of the others. I see it being cleaned all the time, but it does get pretty stinky. I recommend some baking soda and vinegar for the drains. I have been training for triathlons and the pool, hot tub and yoga have been especially helpful. The children's area used to be a highlight, but now they usually have the courts and tubes closed except for a few hours a week- not healthy for americans. The open times for the children under 12 pool is not very convenient as their are swim classes at the most convenient time for everyone to have open swim. I understand that there needs to be money made here, but how about some open times in between the swim classes, not just a 4 hour block of classes, Dr. Joe Brannigan read more

They expect me to go out of my way to rectify the situation. I became a member about six months ago, after a rough start Patti called and got me in for tour and I've been utilizing the membership since then. My son is enjoying yoga every Monday, swimming and the kids part. The shower in the bathroom for families could be cleaner and overall the lockers should be cleaned more regularly. People work out in the sauna which isn't a great idea since it's small but I am enjoying getting on track with a healthy lifestyle with lifetime. The cafe also has healthy options and I'm planning a massage in the spa very soon. My other son enjoys the gym. We both had a couple of sessions with a trainer CeCe and she was awesome. read more

DO NOT Have Your Kids Birthday Here!!!!! I had my daughters 9th birthday party here and it was a mess from start to finish. They did not have the food ready, the extra life guards I paid extra for stood around talking to one another the whole time. The cafe did not even have boxes for the pizza I ordered! When I complained about the issues I was having the lead team member of the party yelled at me repeatedly throughout the party and was rude to the Moms that were there. Tried my son in camp for some days. AWESOME kids programs. Every day they did some new fun stuff or loved it. The counselors are great with the kids and let me know anything I need to. I have a shy little guy and he did awesome ! My son loved his pool counselors and kayla and Emily were awesome.. great with kids (and lots of them) Jen/jenna (blonde camp one wears glasses I think) is always there and super helpful. I can call or come to her and I always get helped and right away, and the kids love her. Kudos to her... she is great I wanted to become a member for the day care and birthdays I was so impressed thought wow better than any park district: worth the bucks. How ever this "Jacqueline" is tough to find. I have questions about day care .... no Jacqueline.. I hope I just kept missing her. People (women 30-40) at the member program desk is great. Really helped me out!! Had all the answers I needed once when I called and once in person Club is uber clean. Staff always cleaning bright and early all over .... very impressive.... Want to try personal training fitness but a little nervous... Have stopped in cafe very clean and good food. Little pricey but it is health food. Kid menu too! Went to this location several times as a guest. Pretty good lifetime with plenty of amenities. The problem with this location is during peak hours, every machine is taken and this place is packed. The sauna had 17 people in it. It seems like this gym has all kids and teens who think they are bodybuilders. Too much pre-workout mix when a kid in the packed sauna is doing push-ups and grunting/screaming. The locker room stinks but so do most locker rooms. Facilities are good but the people not so much. I would try the sportsplex. Don't need roids to sign a contract. Also, there was like a fitness class going on right in the middle of the upstairs lobby. Don't understand. A change in my working location prompted me to switch over to the Orland Park location. I immediately noticed the difference between Romeoville and Orland park lifetime locations. The Romeoville location is maintained better. I got my boyfriend to join this location, and I had bragged to him about how great the steam room was ( they have a steam room that has this eucalyptus aroma therapy thing going on that makes you feel like a million F***ing bucks!!) When I opened the door I was appalled- it smelled like like MILDEW!!!!!! I swear the music from the movie Psycho was playing in my head when I opened that door. I was sooooooooooooooooo grossed out. #Yuck how anyone could sit in there blows my mind, but I guess if Fritos and mildew is your thing... I will still use this location because it's convenient to me on work days, but this location kind of feels like a down grade compared to Romeoville!! #DoBetter read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. Was a member for a while then had to cancel because I was moving. They have the WORST customer service when it came to cancelling the membership. They kept charging after I had ALREADY come in person to cancel. Apparently, they lost the paperwork that showed that I had come in already. I then emailed them to let them know that I had already canceled and that I would not be coming in again to sign the papers. Here's what the response was.... "I looked into your account and it appears to still be active. We need you to come in person or send a letter by mail to terminate memberships." Its 2014 not the 1700s! if a company cannot take emails or phone calls to verify that I had already cancelled, there is an issue with them. read more

I could of sworn, this gym, used to be a dance club, or something. It has a dance club, feeling to it. It's kind of weird. When you first get in there, it looks like a dance club. Im not kidding. The gym has two basketball courts, huge locker rooms, a huge pool, a steam room, a co ed hot tub, (wink,wink) and more. It's fuckin ridiculous. Paying for a membership at Lifetime is simply a waste of money. They have so many schedules that you must abide by it seems like everything is closed all the time. The customer service is rude and does not care about their patrons. The guy at the front desk said that he was left to take care of the whole gym with just a few janitors. How can any business run with one worker especially a huge gym like Lifetime. Yes, it is open 24/7 but most of the facilities are closed. I just received a deep tissue massage from Kimmy! She was amazing. I stand all day at work and use my neck and shoulders constantly and within 20 minutes of being home I feel like a weight was lifted already. My movement in my neck already feels better too! This place seemingly has everything a gym could ever have: cardio equip, weights, weight machines, stretching, group exercise, spinning, two full-size gyms, climbing wall, raquetball courts, personal training, massage, spa, salon, cafe, indoor and outdoor pools (with water slides), jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas, showers, lockers, day child care, recreation for all ages, etc. What they don't have are two things I regularly used at my last gym (I moved and it was too far to remain a member): a ballet barre (for stretching - how hard is it to put one in the group exercise rooms along the mirrors?) and an indoor track - it's a huge place, so they did have the room for it. I was a member of Lifetime for about a year, but in the end decided it was too much money considering all I ever used was the cardio equipment and weight machines and there is a Cardinal Fitness closer to home with just that for less than a third of the price. read more
