I like this place. I really like this place. Okay, bai! NAH, I'm kidding ya'll. Not about liking this place, but about being finished. Lifetime is expensive. But, dude, are they low key worth it! I never have to wait for a machine. Are meatheads here, absolutely, but this place is so HUGE, you don't really hear their grunting as much. Most of all, I have an awesome trainer. So, what exactly do I get for 63...$65/ month. (Don't think i didn't notice Lifetime, the fee went up, I will be calling you about that) - Free lockers (your membership card serves as the key) - Great showers. Not all nasty - Awesome steam room - TONS AND TONS AND TONS of cardio equipment -State of the art strength training equipment. Including TRX suspension training equipment! - Lap Pool -Rock climbing wall And the most important? SERIOUS eye candy. I go for this, and this alone. Hey, I'm single. Don't know what all the bad reviews are about. Todd Stahl was the guy that helped us with our membership- we were coming from LA Fitness and knew exactly what we wanted. He was pleasant, listened, didn't try to upsell anything. As far as customer service this is the only gym that when I walk in to scan my card they always say "hello", Good Morning, or "have a good workout", etc- EVERY TIME! The bathrooms are CLEAN and the employees are always coming through to make sure they stay that way, as well as making sure there enough towels for showering. Oh, and they don't STINK!!! Edward's (Naperville, Woodridge), LifeTime (Winfield, Romeoville) VALUE: You have to have a LOT of time on your hands to experience all that this fitness center has to offer EXPRNCE: BBall-I have been to health clubs since after high school. I joined mainly for good pickup BBall games. (played competitive collegiate). The wait for a game is ridiculously long. They don't have dedicated times for adult only pick up. I love little kids but like adult swim there should be the same policy for BBall. As far as quality, that is lacking too. I was only satisfied in a GOOD RUN a few times (too many hack chuckers). Weights/Cardio-This is where this place really shines. Never a wait, the staff is friendly but very into their booking hours. The equipment is really well laid out and solid. Other Amenities-Climbing wall is really fun and surprisingly a total body burn. Bathrooms are generally clean with a lounge in the guys to watch ESPN, very nice. CONCL: If you are looking for a place to lift/run during peak hours for about 1-1.5 hours, this would be a good fit because you can get a total workout using all machines and the options are numerous for classes and boot camps. If you go to the gym to play BBall and work out occasionally, join a league and buy P90X, it's cheaper. If you are a meathead with a little wee wee, always welcome :)! read more

I absolutely love this gym!!! I joined lifetime being a previous member of Charter fitness. Charter fitness has a low monthly membership, but very limited in what you can do as far as your workout is concerned! The hours that lifetime has really works for me. They are open 24 hours which works for me. I can go when I want to. A lot of gyms close at 6-7pm on the weekends and that's a load of bullshit! I have a crazy schedule! Anyhow this gym has everything you need- a cafe with good food for after your workout, a salon, rock climbing wall, basketball & racquetball courts, all kinds of cardio and weights machines, free weights, and more. I also chose to have a personal trainer- Bob Cassidy who is kicking my ass, but the weight is coming off. The membership is more expensive then the other gyms I've used, but hey this is an investment in my health so it's totally recommended by me! This gym is also very clean! I'm going with 4 stars here. I started off lower but as I write and think I can say the staff has helped me with all of my issues making up for their pitfalls. I singed up with them in December of 2008. At first the guy handling my membership wasn't sure about a discount with my employer but was helpful in clearing things up. It took quite a long time to sign up but it was major computer problems and after a call to tech support, in the US, I was on my way. The gym is clean. The locker room is clean enough. The staff is constantly visible through out the gym cleaning and oddly enough smiling. They daycare is what sold me to this gym. They have an enclosed childcare area that uses membership cards and stickers and also a computer that has kids and parents pics. I like that. The childcare center also has a basketball court, tubes (like McDs), computer area filled with iMacs, and toddler room, and an infant area. They also have an outdoor play area that is gated and only accessible through the childcare area. The equipment is always in good working order. No complaints. I have used the dry sauna and hot tub along with cardio and weights and again with no complaints. There is several basketball courts and I think raquest ball in the back corner. There is also rock climbing during certain hours and group fitness classes. The only problem I had with Lifetime Fitness was when I first joined. I would get calls all the time telling me about certain new promotions or calls from the personal trainers. One day at the gym I stopped by the membership services desk and asked them to stop. I politely told them it was annoying and that I was already paying and if they wanted to keep me paying then the calls needed to stop. The calls stopped and I even got an apology email. I was shocked. Oh and the food at the in house cafe isn't bad either. A bit pricey for somethings, but good quality. read more

Really spacious facility, its a gym paradise! It is a two story gym with an array of stationary machines all aligned perfectly in rows facing high definition flat screen tvs. There are also the lifting machines, swimming pools, wall for rock climbing, bball and racketball courts, but I couldn't tell you much about these because I was interested in the classes. There are a variety of free fitness classes offered on weekdays until 8pm and a bit earlier on weekends. I highly recommended all the yoga classes. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Cons-wise: No tennis courts and there is an innitial enrollment fee. But f-that. You are a consumer and they Need you. You march in there and demand a no enrollment fee sign up. At $59/month, its not too shabby...but you are still working out in a box...but in this case, a rather large and convenient box. read more

If you are looking for a fitness center that's got it all, this is your place. You are probably aware of this by now, but they are very good at what they do and they offer quite a bit. I have been and on/off again member with Lifetime (several locations) for the past 8 years. I was a member at Romeoville for a year. I cannot rave more about their kickboxing classes! I met an amazing instructor here (Kristina) who truly pushes you to YOUR limit and kicks your butt. I became addicted to Kickbox Jam and Turbo Kick. At one point, my membership was purely based on these classes taught by her - I was seeing great results and thoroughly enjoyed my workouts. The personal trainers are a bit annoying and can't take 'no' for an answer right off the bat, but I suppose it's all part of their sales pitch and comes with the nature of their job. The facility is clean and well maintained. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to really invest in their fitness and themselves. read more

If you are looking for a high end gym then I recommend this one. There are a lot amenities that come with this gym so if you actually use them to your advantage then it's worth the price. My monthly dues are about $73 a month. It use to be 24/7 but now they close at midnight which kinda sucks since I'm paying so much. They offer free classes such as hot yoga which is my favorite, cycling classes, and many others. I love the app that they have as you can reserve a spot for certain classes prior and can also use your phone to check in if you don't have your gym card with you. The faculty is usually always clean and they provide towels if needed. It can get pretty busy. I usually go around 8pm when all the classes are over to avoid the crowd. They also have set times for rock climbing which is pretty cool to add to your leg day. The only complaints I really have is that they changed the hours to not 24/7 and that the sauna is co-ed. But if you are going consistently then the price is worth it even though it is pretty pricey. read more

Lifetime Fitness in Romeoville helped me transform my life from the inside out and outside in. I have been an active member for the past 2 years. In that time I've lost 110lbs and gained a level of fitness I didn't think possible when I started. The facilities, equipment, classes are all first class but it's the staff that made the difference to me. I've had caring and thoughtful service from the front desk, cafe, locker room, spa, aquatics and more. I've worked with several of their fitness & nutrition staff and benefited from each one. For the past year I've worked 3-4 x/wk with Personal trainer Stephanie McNally, an experienced and very knowledgeable professional strength trainer. I have several injuries and she finds ways to help me work around those and do a full range of weightlifting including squats & deadlifts. I've dropped 35lbs of body fat and gained several lbs of muscle as well as improved my Vo2 max! Her advice on nutrition has been spot on. I trust her judgement and wisdom. Lifetime Fitness is definitely my kind of gym. They have a cafe which serves good food and wifi. I usually would go with the wraps and salads. There is a spa/salon along with a decent offering in nutritional/clothes products. There are ample tvs and relaxing areas within the gym. Also, a daycare is located on the first floor. Basketball/raquetball courts are average and can be crowded from time to time. Rock climbing is also offered. There is a large studio which has plenty of classes. I haven't tried the yoga or pilates but heard it was a nice studio. Machines are all really nice and up to date. The pools are excellent (interior and exterior) and the sauna is a great size. Honestly, this is the place for you if you are serious about working out. I would give them five stars but with some staff members it does feel like a "sales" approach. read more

This gym gets more and more annoying every moment. There is an instructor that teaches a class at 6pm that absolutely screams at the top of his lungs where it's actually difficult to hear my own music with headphones on. These personal trainers have no concept that there are other people using the gym that don't want to be affected by their dopey class. Sometimes they will hold class in the middle of machines or reserve a huge block of machines just for them. I pay the same fee regardless if I can't use the equipment I pay to use. Signed up for 2 month which was $265 TOTAL per the account manager that signed us up. We never authorized automatic withdraw because we knew we would be leaving. We paid $265 on June 27th and July 1st was charged another $137! We called 3 different times to cancel or get a partial refund. An account rep told us the account was canceled and I am being charged yet again for the month of August. I feel completely lied to by the account manger when we specifically said we would only be there for 2 months. Tammy was nothing but rude when I called for a 5th time to get this resolved. I was in contact via email with Steven Truco and as soon as I stated all the above he conveniently stopped talking to me. Never any sanitized wipes to wipe down machines. Women's locker room is absolutely disgusting. Showers always have hairs either stuck on the wall or the drain. I use to go to the Schaumburg location but I moved and the Romeoville location is now the nearest one to me, but I am honestly considering just taking that extra drive because this location is just horrible. read more

All the amazing gaga reviews are from better b.2011. This gym was remodeled in 10/11. Nice work, but I had to change locations = $$$ because my 7 & 8 year olds were constantly hit by other kids while they were in the day care center. It's always crowded & kids are pretty much on their own. The other problem is Patric the gym manager. This guy is more lost than a kid on the milk carton! For refunds on services that I never used, he had no clue. Didn't even bother to refer me to someone that could help. My sales rep, Sebastian was able to assist me better. read more

So, ive been a member since 2007. The prices have steadily gone up to 178.00 per month for family. I placed myself on the monthly hold for more than a year. I then was not able to respond to an email warning that I would be taken off the monthly hold and charged monthly again. Unfortunately, I did not stop the debit charge for 178.00. I never stepped into the gym which is monitored by you club card swipe. what a waste of money....... I am just warning everyone that monitor your membership status closely. read more

LIFESPA REVIEW---At the price of $80-100 for a massage.... you would think the massage would of been phenomenal and relaxing. But unfortunately that was not the case. My husband and I got massages from GINA and we signed up for the RSQ massage which is the deep tissue, but was more like a soft body rub (such a tease), literally. So disappointing and not worth the money at all!!! You get a way better massage for less at the Asian massage parlor. I told her to go deeper but barely went in to get those knots out. My husband and I were still talking about it after we left, on how disappointing and waste of money that was, it's so upsetting just thinking about that massage! go elsewhere and get your money's worth because this place was far from that. read more

Pros.... 1. BORDERLINE HIGH QUALITY EQUIPMENT...not top notch but slightly above average. 2. DECENT PROGRAMS 3. SPACIOUS 4. REASONABLY CLEAN 5. SAUNA, STEAM ROOM, JACUZZI, 3 POOLS. 6. THEY RESPOND TO EMAILS FAST. 7. DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. 8. 24/7 Cons... 1. OVERPRICED...when i started back in 07, membership was about 55$ a month...now its about 65$ depending on what promotions they currently have. It could range from 65 to 80 per month. They keep adding a dollar every year. I recently spoke to a rep and she said the CEO is planning to raise the monthly fee AGAIN for exclusivity reasons....i havent seen any improvements in equipment, cleanliness, and service yet they keep raising fees....RAISING FEES FOR WHAT?...i havent seen any drastic changes and upgrades since 2007 so why the rise in membership fees?...i wouldnt mind paying 200$ a month if it was indeed "EXCLUSIVE"...i've actually seen some of their equipment in 20$/month gyms....im not buying this "exclusivity" marketing strategy...its pure nonsense...Its a lie......the enrollment fees are much worse....back in 07, I paid almost 160$ to enroll for a SINGLE MEMBERSHIP....who knows what they cost now?.... 2. OVERCROWDED....especially between 7am and 12 noon....crowded between 3pm to 9pm....best time to go there is before 6am and after 10pm......sometimes its a problem to find a parking spot during peak hours especially during the summer. Its a nightmare on the weekends during the day. 3. Maybe its just me but it seems like some of those trainers look slightly overweight or average build lol..... I've been a member since 2007 and i've seen quite a few overweight trainers during the peak hours....I personally feel that any trainer at any gym should be in EXCELLENT shape or at least look defined...i expect trainers to have six packs with 0% body fat lol...How can an average build or overweight trainer motivate regular people to lose weight and do crunches?...How can a Dentist with crooked teeth recommend braces?....it just doesn't make sense... 4. Their SPA prices and MURAD products are overpriced....I bought a few MURAD products from the spa and i really didnt see a difference between murad and cheaper products from walgreens or walmart... 5. Their cafe exudes the same nonsense as the spa...you can make better smoothies in your house for less...I've tried a few sandwiches and i cant say i was impressed by taste or price... 6. Their mens locker room gets crowded during peak hours as well....i expect a fitness complex to have a huge locker room......i'm not sold by the hair dryers and 1 flat screen tv...most men don't care about hair dryers....we need SPACE to get dressed and get out. I chose to stay with lifetime fitness because they are open 24/7...that was what sold me...if you dont care for the bells and whistles, i suggest LA fitness in Bolingbrook (8 mins away)....its between 30$ to 50$ a month but they aren't open 24/7....i personally like the layout of LA fitness better....you see everything when you walk in but you dont feel overwhelmed...its a well thought out layout...and most importantly, you never feel like you are over paying at LA......Im not unhappy at lifetime but if LA became a 24/7 gym, i would switch to LA.....lifetime gets pricier every year yet you never see any drastic changes.....its ridiculous! read more

Really glad I left and went back to Xsport. Was informed the $2.00 increase within the first six months was for new equipment. So everytime something needs replacing the membership will be assessed? They try really hard to make you believe its all about you but it's not it's about the money! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Weights are weights! Last night was my first time at Lifetime. I was there as a guest with one of my really good friends. I had really high expectations for this gym, Honestly, I was extremely disappointed. The locker room was disgusting. The showers was beyond dirty. There was wet towels inside the showers and on the floor. Same thing with the workout area, there were dirty towels all over the machines. It was just simply dirty. I understand that the members are irresponsible and don't clean up after themselves. However, they should have enough staff to keep the gym, expecially the women's locker room a bit cleaner. read more

I USED to be a member here. I will never return to Lifetime, Romoville or any other location. About a month ago my friends car was broken into in the parking lot. Yes it was his fault for not hiding his expensive stuff or not taking it in with him, but here is my problem. Lifetime management is not cooperating with Romeoville Police. Also another friend (male) said someone started ripping open lockers in the mens locker room and stealing stuff. This is BS and should not happen here. $65 a month to have your car and locker broken into? No thanks. read more

I have being a member since 2005. This gym has the WORST customer service that you can ever imagine, it was bad but it's just getting worse. The facility is nice, so as a gym it's ok, the group classes are crowded, the cafeteria's food is ok, it's not as clean as it should be, very difficult to find parking... But the people that work at the front and member service desk, they obviously hate their job and their clients... They have implemented new "procedures" like: if you don't have your membership card and need a locker key, if you lost your locker key, if you need a family locker key...so complicated and their attitude is just really bad... as long as you don't have to talk to them, I guess you can have a good experience. If there was another "nice" gym around my house, I will never come back...giving your business to rude, unprofessional people is not what I like to do. Gym is nice for adults but not for kids (unless you want to pay for extra classes or camps) kids area is always closed in the back for one reason or another and my 9 year old is forced to play up front with the toddlers. Kids area is supposed to be fully accessible during open hours except for the 2x's a day they clean it and that's simply not the case. read more

Having gone to Warrenville Lifetime for 2 years prior to coming to Romeoville I can say that Romeoville doens't even come close to Warrenville. The classes are below average in my opinion. The Warrenville the instructors were top notch; in Romeoville I feel I can get a better work out on my own. I didn't mind paying $60/month for my membership at Warrenville because I was getting the benefits of great group classes; however, I have a problem paying that much to run on a treadmill! They do have a lot of Zumba/dance classes but lack classes like kickboxing. This club also doens't do well with basic things like making sure the wipes are filled to clean the machines. It's a small detail; however, when the personal trainers etc are just sitting around and no one is working it's frustrating to not be able to even clean off your machine. First, I just wanted to let everyone know how amazing Alexandra one of the group fitness instructors at this location is. She does a great job of making her classes fun and challenging for your fitness level! She inspires me to keep up on my fitness journey! Devon is also great I love how she explains the muscles you are working while you are working them. It helps to keep your mind focused on the results which keeps me motivated! All the staff at this location always seems happy and willing to help! It is always clean and makes me feel like I'm on a vacation when I visit. The only thing I wish was different was the water in the water fountains. I drink water all day long and definitely notice a funky taste when I use their water. Just bring your own water and you will be good! I couldn't be more happy with spending my hard earned dollars here!! By the way since December I've lost 2 inches from my waist and I can confidently say it is due to the amazing instructors at lifetime! I've been a platinum member for 2 years at this location. The gym, gym equipment, setup, classes and cafe are great. However, my experience at salon made me give Lifetime 1 star. Front desk personal at SPA is very rude and unprofessional. Treat customers poorly. She was rude when making appointments over the phone and very unprofessional. For a good business all departments within business, require good customer service. Adjustments at SPA need to be made. I will no longer seek any services at the Romeoville SPA. read more

4 1/2 stars. If you want to know what Lifetime Fitness is supposed to be, this location seems to get it. It seems like some of the locations have either oversold memberships, don't have the staffing to keep the place clean or all the above. This location doesn't fit that description. I've gone here a few times. While it is close to where I live, I don't come here often because it's not in the path of my normal travel day. I guess this location may have been a next generation design: 1. The spa/ hot tubs are bigger than other locations and you do notice it from the start (waterfalls are a nice addition but not a deal breaker). 2. The sauna is also bigger. How do I know this? At other locations, if you sit in front of the door or to the left in some locations (left being closest to the spas), you will get a noticeable draft when the door opens. Not the case here. People came and went yet I NEVER felt a draft. 3. People seem to really respect the club and its rules (e.g, throwing used towels in bins, kids not the pool area during non-family swim times, locker rooms kept clean, wiping machines after use, etc). People seem to get it. While this is a full service club, we as members also have a hand in this as well. In other words, members don't make work for the very friendly staff members. My only complaint is that the Pilate classes aren't a readily scheduled as other clubs. That could be due to a lower demand. As a whole, this club is VERY well managed. THIS is the reason I joined Lifetime. I wish other locations will get the memo. read more

This gym is great and getting better all the time. The 60 bucks a month is nothing compared to the services they have. The trainers are very nice and the entire staff are right on top of everything. gave it 4 stars for one reason. There are many family and kid activities at the gym as their slogan is mylife. it makes much sense. I would wish they would have some singles events for those of us with neither of the above. dances, festivities all with costs just like the above. then with all luck we would eventually be able to go to the family and kids activities lol Except for that superb!!! keep up the good work. read more
