My family and I have gone to Dr. Mark for about 10 years just for "tune-ups". I haven't needed to see him for anything too serious, just minor adjustments. Until recently... I have always had that pain you get in the shoulder/neck area on my right side, but never on my left side. About a month and a half ago, the pain started on my left side and was pretty intense, radiating down my arm. I was having trouble sleeping and my migraines also came back; I have had 3 in the last 6 weeks. I remember I had seen Dr. Mark for migraines in the past and he mentioned it's probably from my neck issues. So I called him up and he fit me in. The day after I saw him, the pain in my shoulder/neck was about 75% better and the next day was about 90% better. Absolutely shocking. I thought for sure I'd have to go see a doctor and get physical therapy for this. He has saved me from pain and time. Priceless. I have to say in the past when my migraines have come pretty frequently, I go see Dr. Mark and they go away for at least 6 months... if not longer. It's that long in between them when I forget the last one happened. Dr. Sembrat is amazing! I was in a car accident when I was 22 weeks pregnant and was at risk of losing the baby. I had months of pain, at times I couldn't even walk. I did physical therapy for months, only pausing to give birth. My baby came early but she is totally fine. The pain was so bad at times I couldn't even feed my baby and PT just wasn't cutting it. My doc mentioned a chiropractor but I was terrified to try. Finally, I got the courage to find a doc and make an apt. I was scared and almost in tears before the apt even started. I first saw Dr. Sembrat a few years ago, while I was dealing with back spasms. I had seen another chiropractor for three or four sessions, and wasn't seeing any relief at all. Nada. To say I was skeptical when a friend recommend Dr. Sembrat would be understatement. During my first visit, Dr. Sembrat listened to my symptoms, and gave me a thorough exam. He then walked me through what was going on, and explained the sort of adjustments he would be doing. I went to Dr. Sembrat after really messing up my back building a redwood deck for my sister. It was a Tuesday and I could hardly walk, I had to get on a 2 hour flight on Friday morning followed by a 3 hour drive to see my son at school for our first Parents weekend. I knew I needed help if I was going to survive. I searched the internet looking for a good chiropractor and came across Dr. Mark Sembrat. I called him and he made room to see me that afternoon. After a treatment on Tuesday I was still sore (as expected by Dr. Sembrat) on Wednesday. By the Thursday though I was starting to feel much better but it was still painful to get moving in the morning. I had made an appointment for another treatment for Thursday afternoon. I woke up at 5AM on Friday for my flight and I was amazed that I was not in terrible pain. In fact I was feeling almost normal. I survived the trip without my back getting any worse. Dr. Sembrat did an outstanding job. I never would have believed that he could have me walking upright and pain free in such a short amount of time. Here is what impressed me even more with Dr. Sembrat. After the Thursday appointment I had scheduled follow up appointments for the following Tuesday and Thursday (I thought it was going to take much longer to get all the stiffness and kinks worked out). First of all, I must confess that I really didn't think/believe that a chiropractor could really do much for me as I had been dealing with chronic back/sciatica pain for about 7 years (and I'm only 33); however, this all changed after seeing Dr. Sembrat ONCE. Despite my pain, I like to stay active and had decided that I was going to do the Tough Mudder race this coming September. I knew Dr. Sembrat was an active guy, but while sitting in the waiting room for my appointment, I also noticed that Dr. Sembrat had completed the Tough Mudder last year. I was a bit hesitant to bring it up to him that I had already signed up for the race in September because I was afraid he would say that I really couldn't do that with my back being so bad; however, once I brought it up - his eyes lit up and he even invited me to be on his team. This may sound insignificant, but just THIS gave me hope that I could feel better and that not only did I want to be active, but HE wanted this for me as well (and I'm not talking about a leisurely jog, swim, or hike - the Tough Mudder is INTENSE). Anyway, after having been to physical therapy and being offered $1,000's of dollars worth of pain medications, I went to see Dr. Sembrat out of desperation. After my first visit (individual results may vary) I was already feeling so much better - better than any pain meds I had (reluctantly) tried. I went to work the next day and told about 4 people how amazed I was. The next week when I returned to Dr. Sembrat, the first thing I told him was "I didn't believe in him - but he REALLY helped me!"
