Stayed recently for a work trip so I had stopped in for breakfast a few days in a row (which had been delicious and the AM staff was absolutely wonderful. So then I decided I'd grab dinner in the restaurant in the hotel and honestly that was a big mistake. The menu first didn't match to what they showed online which was kind of annoying but they still had some stuff that sounded good. Ordered a soup, drink and entree had planned to order dessert afterwards. My waitress took a while to even come say hello and bring a menu (there were about 6 people in the restaurant at the time, plus a group that was forming for what I gather was a larger group), plus another server. Got my drink, got my entree, but no soup. 10 mins goes by and finally got a refill on my drink. Another 20ish minutes goes by before I see her again and she asks if I am done. By this point I was over it I didn't want the soup anymore and I definitely wasn't going to get dessert. She brings the check, puts on the table and says nothing. I pay, and as I'm leaving I pass her again and she says nothing. I don't understand how someone works in hospitality was so unfriendly towards their customers. Absolutely ruined the whole experience. Salad was OK but a bit wilted. And the chicken tenders (didn't have high expectations for because it's just chicken tenders) tasted like any generic ones you'd expect from a fast food restaurant. read more

Under "Help improve Yelp", there were some questions I wanted to clarify. This restaurant is in a Hotel. Parking is in an open, uncovered lot. There is no parking just for the restaurant. The hotel does have an overhang, so drop off is easy. There is outdoor seating out back. There is 1 step down. If you ask, you probably can be let in from the back parking/employee area. It connects to the outdoor area for the pool. No steps. The restaurant offers both room service and catering. You must call the restaurant for both. The hotel is often used for Sports and Cheer events for under-18-year-olds competitions. Those weekends are busy and loud. read more

The Lift Restaurant is located in the Delta Hotel in Kalamazoo. Just like the hotel, this place is a dumpster fire. I was sent down to the restaurant/bar at about 10PM to check out the breakfast menu. The Asian manager yelled at me and told me to go away and to come back tomorrow in front his staff and all the customers. Lucky for me, I was tired and the bar itself was too loud for me to hear. The bartender immediately came over to me when I looked at their direction and apologized to me for the managers behavior. She told me that she was embarassed at his actions. A regular at the bar confirmed that the manager was rude to not only me, but, to everyone. Manager aside, the staff (bartender and waitress in the morning) were great. Breakfast for the Delta is served off the menu at this restaurant, if you choose breakfast instead of points. The waitress in the morning did a wonderful job in taking my breakfast order and allowing me to order a juice or coffee with my breakfast. Coffee and juice is not part of the breakfast if the rude manager is there. Luckily, he overslept. The staff, aside from the manager were great. The food was good. But, the manager needs to find a new job. Yelling at customers to go away will cause all their customers to go away one day. read more

Had actual reservations for 6:45pm on Valentines Day. Arrived at 6:40pm to nobody manning the greeter station. There was a couple in front of us waiting to be seated as well. The bartender glanced our way numerous times without acknowledgment. Finally the hotel desk clerk came over and tried to get us a table. She chatted with the bartender and then returned saying the bartender was the only one working and it would be about 20 minutes before she could take our order but we could sit where we pleased. We seated ourselves, it was 7:00 by this time. The bartender walked by saying again she was the only one there and she didn't expect to have so many customers. Reminder, this is Valentines Day evening. I told her we had a reservation for 6:45 but she knew nothing about it. Finally about 7:30 we left. Without ever being acknowledged again, without so much as even getting a menu to browse or a glass of water. Don't waste your time trying Lift. The only apparent employee on duty, on a holiday evening, looked straight at us as we got up and left. Again, no acknowledgment, no apology, more of a sigh of relief we were leaving and one less customer to be bothered with. read more

Matthew was phenomenal!! Drinks were delicious. He was friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to make our party of 4 feel comfortable and welcomed. His service was exceptional especially since he was bartending and serving that night. He never seemed stressed, flustered or inconvenienced. He's a true professional. Everything we ordered was fantastic. It was a great experience. We will definitely return. read more

This is a nice place to stop for drinks and dinner. An interesting menu and friendly staff! It's possible to have a conversation with your dinner companion which I really appreciate. Bright and clean. read more

We have been coming here for the breakfast menu since the remodel and new menu. The staff are wonderful! This is the only place to order hash browns, in my opinion. The menu choices are great and quality is superior. We live in town and know what else is out there. No need to leave the hotel. Kalamazoo local people...you need to try it! read more

Stopped in after a sporting event in town. Just wanted an appetizer and a nice cocktail. It wasn't busy but it took forever to get waited on. After we received our drinks and appetizer no one came back to check on us. Our drink glasses stayed empty until we flagged some one down. Our extended family of 20 adults and several children recently enjoyed our stay at the Delta hotel. We particularly were pleased that we could sit together at a secluded area in the Lyft restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent. It was a great place for a family get-together. read more

I came in for a conference and Arrived fairly late. Ordered the ribeye with asparagus and potatoes. The service was great and the food was really good. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would stay again with the convenience of having a good restaurant on site. read more
