Light and Motion make, IMHO, the absolute best video camera underwater housings on the market. I've owned several, and I NEVER have to worry about leaks (certainly the typical #1 worry...."let's take a $1000+ camera and put it in salt water"). L&M housings have several features that I love: - electronic controls. This minimizes the # of o-rings (and holes) in the housing....and provides access to most of the cameras functions. In my system, the right grip buttons control the video, the left grip controls photography (as a general rule). - external monitor. This means you have a nice big screen (relatively speaking) to look at as you shoot. - bulletproof (again, relatively) machined aluminum housing, with double o-ring seals for the back door. - red filter built in. - GREAT light options - camera grip controls lights on/off (VERY cool and convenient!) The ONLY complaint I have about L&M (other than the price...you get what you pay for, but you can buy a car for what a fully equipped housing will run), is that they are in love with wet contacts. While I can, in theory, see the value of being able to change out lights underwater, I do not know of anyone who actually has done so, has plans to do so, or is doing so. So WHY do they continue to insist on this? You now have contacts that constantly have to be uber-cleaned and scrubbed so that they'll maintain electrical contacts from the battery to lights (I actually now carry nail files as part of my video equipment because of this...go figure). I definitely recommend L&M housings for your video cameras....they really are the best....one little flaw, tons of great features. You can't go wrong with them. read more

I own 2 of their lights and was happy with the products and service until my Taz 1000 started to have charging and battery issues. No service support for a 3 and a half year old light! Fairly annoying attitude from the customer service rep who could not fathom why I did not want another light at a "discount". I thought I WAS NOT buying a disposable light. Very disappointing value for the price they charge. So I did not get what I paid for and the only solution they offer is a bogus 30% discount on another light from them. I can find their lights on sale on line so they really are offering me nothing. Zero issues so far with my 2 year old Magic Shine light. read more

I purchased a brand-new SECA 800 light system and the battery did not work right out of the box. Light and Motion will not send a replacement battery despite having a receipt of purchase because, I am told, it was not purchased from one of their authorized dealers. The warranty is not transferrable. The warranty is all but useless to me. Horrible customer service. Before you purchase any light from this company, secure a guarantee from Light and Motion, in writing, indicating that the product will be replaced if it fails. Also note the time difference between the date in which the product and the date in which it is sold: if the battery remains unused for some time, it may die and you could be stuck with a dead light without having a valid warranty. The battery, then, has a very limited life span on the shelf. To pay hundreds of dollars for a product like this might not make the best sense, given how many excellent lights there are for much better prices. Expensive lights. Cheap customer service. Think twice before buying. I certainly will before purchasing anything from them again. And never pay full price -- it's just not worth it. read more

Light in Customer Service Or perhaps Slow Motion would be a better name The light was ordered on August 25th and here we are over 45 days later and still no light. WTF? No complaint on the product, this review is for the horrid customer service. The light never showed up. I followed up with fed ex but they didn't have it anymore, it was with USPS. The zip code was incorrect and apparently that was a fatal error that could never be corrected. Only the shipper could change the zip code and the shipper was Light & Motion and they really couldn't be bothered. When they actually did attempt to change the zip code, around week 3 or 4, the address was somehow muddled further and the light has been circling around from post office to post office for weeks. On the USPS website, the package tracking has 21 lines listing the different actions and facilities so far. I have asked Light & Motion to recall the package or ship a second light and we will return the first one when and if it ever arrives. I have talked to three staff members there, emailed numerous times, and still, no light. I have planned a wedding with fewer calls than I have made over this f***ing light. I am currently on hold with the post office now. Beware, their customer service is butt! read more

Have to agree with everyone else...awesome company, product, and customer service! I had a problem with a switch on the Urban 400 model (I bought two, for me and my son). I'm sure this was a fluke, as the other unit worked like a charm. After logging the ticket and describing the problem on their support website, I got a replacement within a week. Problem was, although the UPS ticket said "delivered", no one was home! Long story short, they sent another light out to my workplace, no questions asked. I've never had this level of trust or experienced customer service this amazing. My son's light operates perfectly and is easy to work the various modes. He's had it on his bike for 3 weeks now, has only used the blink mode, and its going strong on the first charge. I'm a happy customer and am glad to be an evangelist for this company. read more

Fabulous customer service. My Seka 1500 shorted out. It was fixed and returned so I received it within a week of shipping it. Customer Service heard how much of a hurry I was in to have the light again and indicated they would put a rush on the repair and they came through for me. ( When I had questions when I first purchased the ight 2 years ago, they were very responsive and helpful) It is a wonderful light. Not only does it wonderfuully light up trails and dark roads to enable safe riding at night, it makes me visible and so much safer at all times. The only down side -- I'm now addicted to having a Very Bright Light available to me. read more

They don't service what they sell. I've been a Light & Motion customer for years, but now I am done with them. My old video lights, perfectly good lights, just needed new batteries, which are not standard, but proprietary. "Sorry, we no longer service or make those." Underwater video housing (these are not cheap, they are thousands of dollars), there were issues when it came back from the last servicing they did (which was around the time when Covid hit), so I waited, understanding the Covid is challenging for everyone. How was I rewarded for patience? ...with an email now that says "The company made a new policy where we are no longer accepting repairs on housings." Now I'm having problems with one of my current Sola video lights. 831-645-1525 or 831-645-1538, I challenge you to try to get a return phone call from a manager. These are expensive items, and unfortunately, service does not rank very highly with Light and Motion. read more

Amazing bicycle lights! I have one of their headlights and taillights on each of my bikes. They are durable, compact and yet provide tons of lumens for lighting up the road on night rides. Wonderful to see and be seen by vehicles. The main reason I'm submitting a review is their incredible customer service. Had some problems with my Urban 850 and 650 lights, and sent an email via their website, not expecting any response (nothing personal, I just have low expectations about companies responding when you have a problem). A customer rep emailed me the NEXT DAY, helping me to get my lights fixed. Their warranty program is incredible. Prompt, polite, personable communication, their response exceeded anything I could have imagined. I bought a Sola 500 Photo light a couple of years ago to use as a focus light. I liked it so much that I gave it to my wife and bought a Sola 800 Photo light and an Sola 800 Dive light for myself. I love them all. They are so easy to use, charge, and care for. They are very well-designed products. I love how bright they are for their size. I love the red focus light for shooting skittish little fish and creatures. I am so pleased that L&M is making such high-quality products available to everyone. read more

This should be renamed as the "worst light's in history not to mention their customer service" if you though nothing could be worse than AT&T your wrong..!! At least AT&T gets'your internet up and running in a timely fashion ...maybe 2 weeks , however this company is going on 4 months..and my light works for a blink of an eye , and comes with a 6 month warranty ...what a JOKE..!! I am so disappointed with their customer service and their i misrepresentation of what they say about their warranty ..!! I have been in a dispute with them ever since Jessica left who honored my life time warranty and replaced my light in motion ,along with the charger and made sure everything was working correctly and sent it back..!! They now have new Management Trevor who has been there for a few years , and he's as arrogant as you can get..just awful..I would "RUN not WALK" they misrepresent their warranty and I'm exposing them in hopes of spreading the word, reporting them to the better business bureau , until the public understands what they will be going through...arguing and praying they will do the right thing, especially if you've been a long term customer , you would hope they would want to help in any way and honor their warranty instead of telling you over and over that there's no way it could of ever been a life time warranty . trying to make you feel like your the idiot and degrade you and not give a rats ass of anything you just explained to them over and over for the last hour..!! I sent my light back in may and it took them until mid august to send it back..! I was looking forward to a great night ride with my new ... supposedly light , which they said the problem was definetly my battery pack , however it wasn't since it goes on for a blink of an eye .My light came back but didn't have the decency to send a new charger, So now it has to go back and I won't have a light for our camping trip which all could of been avoided but hitter so stingy and could care a less... I am so irate ... who do they think they are..? besides a bunch of shysters...cheats, that have no regards for their customers and how to run their company..!! So when you spend any amount of money on their products ...be prepared to have numerous problems and I assure you, your light will die just after the 6 month warranty is up, not to mention going back and forth with them, you will never want to buy another product or anything from them again..!! They say one thing and do another ..how dare them ..!! I'm going to expose them and make their life miserable as they did mine..!! Our family was getting ready for a mt.Bike trip and everyone had great lights , obviously not one from lights and motions..I wonder why..?
