    Changing from a 5-star review to a 1-star review. I have been a Chorbie customer for years, back when they were Weed Xtinguishers, and have referred several people to use them but I am canceling service as of today. I have weekly mowing service, plus weed & fertilizer service that I pre-pay for totaling over $2100/year at my elderly parents' home. They have asked the lawn crew many times to please trim the grass pictured below but they were told that is additional service. I called my account manager to see if something could be done and he offered me hourly service at $64/hour. If the lawn could be done in a half hour this would increase my annual bill by over $1000 to do 2 minutes of additional work because they have rocks around the trees and in front of the house. UPDATE: I received a callback and Jody offered 6 free months of flower bed service after which would be $39.99/month. So it wouldn't be over $1000/year but only $320 for 8 months of flower bed care that I don't need.

    These people were mowing my lawn spring and into summer 2023 but I canceled the service because they repeatedly mowed my St Augustine too short at 1" despite my request for 2.25". The lawn is in full sun and has been suffering between the sub zero winter weather, high Sumner heat, and drought conditions. The result of excessively close mowing was the exposed sod was getting baked to death in the sun and heat last summer. No amount of communication could resolve this so their service was canceled. Other than repeatedly ignoring directive for lawn height and killing my lawn they did a decent job of mowing and edging, and did show up reliably. If you have a sprinkler system and use 10,000 gallons per month or more of water on your front lawn keeping your st Augustine wet it probably will survive their "care", because that was what I had to use in July '23 while giving the grass enough time to grow back enough to shade the soil. Typically, I water conservatively during drought and desire to use a minimum amount of irrigation not a maximum. Despite canceling their service last July due to this but diligent as they are they came back in March of '24 anyway and NOT at request. So if you engage their service they will show up on stated schedule but you may have a difficult time canceling it as I surely did. For a lawn service I would expect them to know their grasses and associated maintainance height better.

    We had been using this service for over a year, and our front yard is in terrible condition now. The last straw for me was when they ruined the birthday signs I set up today for my daughter's birthday. I spent nearly an hour putting it together, and then I went to pick up the kids from school. When we got back (in 25 minutes), all the letters were ruined, with half of them on the ground. All I can say is that I was really mad and frustrated. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

    Up until recently I was very happy with my Chorbie experience. I've been a mow, and weed/feed customer for almost 4 years, and had referred several folks to their company over past couple of years. I can no longer recommend Chorbie and have already canceled the feed and feed service and will be canceling the mow service as well. I informed them about a moth infestation in my front yard that I suspected was armyworms. A week later my grass started to deteriorate from being lush and green to dying and brown. I contacted them again after confirming armyworms were present using warm soapy water in a couple of isolated areas... the armyworms popped up in each area indicating an active infestation. After waiting nearly a week with very little response, they indicated that I needed to prove to them my lawn was infested... but by then it was too late. Almost half my lawn was already damaged... what a joke. Chorbie has grown too quickly and had lost their customer service. Too bad, since it was a great company a couple of years ago. I suspect they'll start struggling soon unless they turn it around.

The contractor came out, marked up my lawn, sprayed grass killer, and began preparing the area. Shortly afterward, another contractor happened to stop by and offered a quote. Out of fairness, I wanted to validate pricing not to haggle, just to understand. Instead of having a professional conversation, RC Landscaping took offense and walked off the job entirely. What's worse is that he had already sprayed my yard, leaving me with dead, unsightly grass and no plan to repair or finish the work. Now I'm left scrambling to fix damage I didn't ask for just because I wanted to make an informed decision. The photo attached shows the current state of my lawn. It's clear, marked, and dead. This wasn't how I expected the relationship to end. If you're considering RC Landscaping, beware: if you seek clarity on price, they might just leave you mid-project. RESPONSE : I initially contacted RC Landscaping to help design flower beds for my front yard. We discussed expectations, and he even came out to mark the yard and spray it to prep for install. While I hadn't delivered the materials yet, I was planning to, and we had a start date set. Things changed when I asked a simple question about pricing. Another contractor had stopped by with a lower estimate, and I wanted to understand the difference--especially since only one bed was multi-layered and the rest were basic. I wasn't trying to cancel the job; just asking for clarity. Instead of a conversation, the contractor called off the job entirely, citing a lack of trust. I was left with patches of dead grass and no work done. I also asked to keep the drawing for reference (since I now have to start over), but was told no. The owner claims I was difficult or indecisive--but I have screenshots that show I was respectful and collaborative throughout. I never changed the job scope drastically--I asked thoughtful questions as part of normal planning. In the end, I can't recommend this business based on how the situation was handled. A simple follow-up led to the project being abandoned, and now I'm left cleaning up and restarting. Attaching screenshots from our actual conversation to provide context. I believe they show I was clear, respectful, and simply trying to understand pricing and next steps.
