This spot is such a vibe! Completely vegan and so many options for food, teas, coffee - it really checks off all your brekkie brunchy checklists. We were able to find street parking nearby and it was free for our Sunday visit! The inside is decorated very hippy dippy with local artists works displayed throughout. It's a small spot that packs a punch. Some seating for 2 mostly and a few tables were set up for 4. The major bar area is where the food and drinks are ordered and then they come and deliver it to you wherever you self seat. We ordered their mega açaí bowl, the hummus wrap, and tried their vegan pastelillos. My wife got their iced guava kava and I got their chai masala in oat milk. Everything came out as it was made and it was delicious! We both reallly enjoyed the açaí bowl and our drinks. The service was awesome and super helpful explaining all of the different things on the menu that we were unfamiliar with. We grabbed a chickpea brownie on our way out and looking forward to more visits!

This place is awesome. Beautiful interior. Very nice, knowledgeable employees. Amazing food. Try the French Toast it will blow your mind. Wish it stayed open later :( I tried the kava last time. Felt physically kind of drunk after just that small cup, I got the smallest size. "consumption of kava extracts produced with organic solvents or excessive amounts of low-quality kava products may be linked to an increased risk of adverse health outcomes, including liver injury." I don't know how their kava is prepped, I didn't ask. Worth investigating.

Excellent and delicious flavor combinations. 2 grams standard strength. And they have regular herbal teas and blue lotus. They have mason jars of prepared Togo refrigerated kava. And vegan food. My only wish is that they will get a larger space and be open late !!! And I am an OG kava And kratom drinker so I know the difference and this place is quality.

I had never heard of kava until my friend took me here. The lady behind the counter was so sweet and so informed. Kava is a drink that comes from shrubs and has a really positive affect on your mood. I was in the best mood ever and did not experience anything negative as it wore off or on the next day. I highly recommend checking this out! They also had a woman reading tarot cards

My mom and I absolutely love coming here, it's our favorite spot to hang out in the city. I can't say enough good things! The vibe? Impeccable. Location? Great. Staff and service? Delightful. Food and drinks? Delectable. Seriously I cannot recommend Lightbox enough! It's a place that we feel good about dining at and giving money to, which is so important. Everything is delicious, fresh and healthy! I think even if you aren't vegan you will find something to love here!!! It's the perfect spot to just chill, do some work, or chat with a friend, and they even have things to do like a tarot deck and various games to play (we had a blast with the music lovers trivia.) And seriously, the menu is amazing! I personally am a fan of the sweet treats, especially the bliss balls, but I can't wait to try literally everything offered. Plus, the owner and everyone who works here couldn't be nicer; they are always so friendly and a true pleasure to talk to. The music selection is on point which is something that is very important to me. We always look forward to coming to Lightbox, and every time we leave feeling happy and satisfied :) Many thanks to everyone who makes our experience here so wonderful every time!!!

Beautifully designed restaurant, pleasant and very helpful staff, and great great food! Definitely check this place out if you like healthy food and especially if you're interested in or already enjoy plant-based options! The food is the most important thing to me and it was all very good and reasonably priced as well. The warm bowl was my personal favorite I'd say or the jackfruit of the sea

Food is good. They also have good customer service. Nice vegan options! Order ahead because it's not that big inside.

This place is so cool. Very groovy vibe!! We went to try Kava for the first time. It was good and I could definitely feel something. We also had the vegan Puerto Rican stew. It was soooo good. I'm not a vegan and I was completely blown away by the flavor and texture. This place was an awesome experience!!!!

It was naturally sweet without tasting artificial, allowing the floral notes of the tea to come through. The Dong Ding Tea was the standout for me smooth, aromatic, and incredibly clean-tasting with a rich, roasted finish that lingered pleasantly after each sip. It's the kind of tea you can slowly enjoy and appreciate. If you're looking for authentic, high quality tea instead of overly sweet bubble tea, ChiCha San Chen is definitely worth visiting. I'll absolutely be back to explore more of their menu!

The tea itself is better quality than your average boba place and you can taste the difference. I could not decide, so I ordered both a green tea with passionfruit and a honey osmanthus oolong tea. Both were equally good. I like sweet and so was happy with 100% sweetness for both and less ice. You can't go wrong with their classic boba milk tea either. They have a couple of tables inside for you to sit and enjoy your drink. We were there on a rainy Saturday and were the only ones inside for a while.

Don't give me a ramekin of…read morewhipped cream and tell me it's clotted cream like I'm stupid There are plenty of etiquette rules and standards to attending an afternoon tea service but there are as many to serving one. Management and ownership have never attended a tea service or researched how to host one Each table is limited to two selections and two pots of tea. Don't agree? Oh well. Refills? Extra charge. But wait you actually receive three pots of tea because upon seating a pot of the "seasonal" herbal tea is served whether you like it or not.m Additionally serving milk with black tea selections is apparently not standard practice here and needs to be specifically requested. The Earl Grey tea is excellent First course: salad. Hopefully no one in your party has severe nut allergies because before even taking tea selections a plate of spring mix buried under a pile of walnuts is dropped in front of you. Those in our party able to eat the salad did not enjoy it Second course: savouries. Finger sandwiches were fresh. Chicken salad was excellent. Egg salad on croissant was good I personally disagree with quiche being served as it's non-traditional but it is accepted in many circles and the quiche was also good However I have absolutely no doubt that the chicken salad and egg salad were scooped out of premade tubs from Sysco or Restaurant Depot judging by the sweets Scones: underbaked. Disappointing given reviews raving about them. Maybe we received a bad batch maybe the local population has never had a decent scone. Will not be returning to find out Presumably since the savoury scone (an abomination in my opinion) was served in the same course as a sweet scone the only butter served was a savoury herb butter. As a result there was no butter available for the "butterscotch" scone and there would not have been enough anyway considering we received about a tablespoon of butter and two tablespoons of both other toppings between five people The "clotted cream" has been addressed as it was the most offensive part of enduring this experience. Rather than a traditional jam or marmalade none of which we were served we were given a "mango compote." How someone decided mango and butterscotch are complementary I have no idea. Anyone in this industry would recognize Reàl purée squeezed out of a plastic bottle Sweets: thaw and serve La Boulangerie des Gourmets frozen macarons (which include a pistachio flavor and are packaged in one tray so again watch for nut allergies if you think you're safe eating a lemon macaron as this obviously isn't disclosed). I see these are being sold separately outside of the tea service 6/$14. They are 57¢ ea Chocolate mousse mix piped into a plastic cup with a processed whipped topping. The most edible dessert Menu lists lemon cheesecake server identified small tarts as key lime pie. Not sure which we received but can note the filling at least (probably not the tart shell) is made in house because we received more than one batch with one having not even a hint of citrus Saving the worst for last the "strawberry" cupcake. First and foremost cupcakes chocolate mousse and macarons (and most egregious cannolis listed on the children's menu) are not standard sweets served with afternoon tea. But this cupcake? The cupcakes we were served here were the driest cake I have ever seen in my life completely inedible. The frosting was some sort of processed palm oil goo and neither cake nor frosting had any strawberry flavor Atmosphere and service: service was friendly albeit casual slow and not attentive. Server was not very knowledgeable. Not her fault Space was fine if gaudy. Table was crowded. I share another reviewer's sentiment but the table cloth was about a foot longer than the table was high which made sitting movement or pushing a chair in difficult. It felt like wearing a heavy blanket that was pulled taut the entire experience Paper napkins and plastic dishes. At over $40 per person you would expect more As a side note standard afternoon tea practice is being offered or asking for additional items the guests like. However the menu had prices listed for additional sides of all items served on the tea service. Given the quality vs cost this felt particularly gauche It's hard to comprehend why the owners or management here can't get the tea service right. The hardest part is finger sandwiches and freshness which they seem to have managed. Good quality premade desserts are available and scones are not difficult to make. It honestly seems like a lack of effort on their part or a lack of respect for their customers which is frustrating All in all a very expensive abysmal experience. I'm sure there are decent afternoon teas available in this area at a similar price. Fortnum and Mason and the Covent Garden Hotel in London both known for afternoon teas charge £45 per person Two stars for the chicken salad server and Earl Grey
