I had a chai latte. Nothing super memorable. I do like the location and the interior of the shop.

Chai felt a little dilute despite asking for light ice. Very spacious study space though

Overall mediocre drinks, but they get the job done with so many options, and honestly I bumped them up purely on vibes. It felt super cozy in here-- there are a good amount of tables with outlets available, and though I expected it to be super busy because of how accessible tables are, I found that it wasn't busy at all. It was the perfect combination of people sitting along with some foot traffic. Not too quiet and not too loud. I ordered a matcha latte both times I came here. The first time, the barista recommended adding strawberry syrup to it. I love a matcha strawberry, so that sounded amazing. The strawberry is quite the artificial flavor, but it did the job and paired pretty well with the matcha. It was almost like a strawberry milk with matcha. I wish the matcha had been stronger because the strawberry was quite strong. I thought the same thing when I got a vanilla matcha the next day-- just needed more matcha in there to be satisfied with it. I loved how many syrup options they had. And it wasn't just regular syrup options that are offered in other places-- I remember there being coconut and lavender just to name a couple. I've seen a few reviews say that there's no wifi, but I definitely remember logging onto wifi. They have it posted right next to their bathroom!

I love this location, it's great for people watching because it's across from Clark Park! Green Line makes a nice cup of coffee and the staff are always pleasant. The prepared food is okay and they have plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. It's good for something in a pinch. They also sell coffee here which has saved me a few times. Unfortunately there are not many tables and it feels like there are even less than there were pre-Covid. Makes it hard to meet someone here for coffee. They don't have wifi so if you do snag a table plan to use hotspot if you need internet.

(double) espresso "for here" -- I liked the table!

If you happen to be hanging around Spruce Hill, or indeed the larger area of University City, consider making the Green Line Cafe part of your day. We enjoyed our double espresso and iced coffee, both served "for here." (All Green Line espressos are doubles.) We liked the vibe of the place enough to return the next morning for breakfast. I docked one star because my espresso fell a bit short of greatness; indeed I thought that I detected a hint of staleness in the beans. For breakfast on our second visit, I ordered a cortado and a macchiato. The presence of milk on each of those drinks was enough to hide the staleness that I had detected in my espresso.

Cold Brew Coffee Quest #7 With the start of summer in Philly, my wife and I are determined to find the best Cold Brew Coffee that our city has to offer! No national chains allowed. -Overall Score: 3 out of 5 -Pros: Prime location for West Philly Porchfest caffeine boost and airy + rustic café architecture -Cons: Singular dark + roasty flavor and served in a plastic cup

    Breakfast burrito and funfetti cookie

I've come here twice in the past month, once for lunch (ended up taking the food to go because there was no space) and another time for a drink. The space is tiny here, it's more enjoyable when it's not crowded. When ordering for lunch, it was awkward waiting for the order because there really isn't much room to stand without being in someone's way. I ordered the breakfast wrap but my two friends also ordered food that needed to be toasted and it took too long. The wrap itself was good, but really small....look how big my cookie was next to the burrito! The second time I came back, I was pretty sick and asked for a hot water but treated my friend to a drink here. Got a really weird look when they asked me if I was really ordering a hot water...I would rather go somewhere else in the area for a sandwich or drink in the future.

Black & White ice cream sandwich, apple pie ice cream and blue berry mint sorbet...
    Michelle B.

Just stopped in to get some Weckerly's sorbet & ice cream since they were not at the local farmer's market today. Was highly disappointed and insulted at the poor customer service I received at the counter by clearly a low paid and classless cashier. It's one thing to purchase some items and request a bag and the items not to be placed in the bag, but it's another to receive an annoying look when asking for a bag and it lightly being tossed on the counter and givien a side remark when asked, "Do you not put items (more than one or 2) in a bag?" Reply, "No"... Question, "Will I ever return to this place?" Answer, "Sure, half past NEVER". The sure fire way to lose customers, rude and dismissive staff.

I really want to support local businesses. And the staff is so nice! But $5.50 for a bagel with cream cheese?! That's too much.

Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes! Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

Not tough but a nice, soft seeded sub roll. Seeing it arrive was a little overwhelming but I kinda thought the thing was light and was easy to finish off 1/2. The Fig and Pig - the fig jam was outstanding. Great sweetness with the saltiness from the prosciutto and then to top it off, the crunch of the cutlets. Excellent. As I was leaving, I saw a cutlet, with mutz, broccoli rabe, and roasted red peppers. I WILL be back for that. That looked amazing. Service was very friendly, prompt. We sat down and within a few minutes, our sandwiches came out. Looks like they were working on takeout / delivery orders and I thought, oh crap, am i behind all of that. But I guess they were either done or they prioritize the tables. Place was small but at 2:30 or so, it had a couple of tables open. They had tables outside but a little warm and in the sun for that. Well done, Liberty Kitchen!

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!
