Calvin and his crew at Lightfoot are as honest as they get. I brought in a couple of LCAs from my 1996 K1500 Suburban to get new bushings and balljoints pressed in. Upon dropping it off he quoted me a price and we agreed on it. When I came to pick them up later that day, Calvin told me it only took them half the time, and he refused to charge anymore time than what it took them. Seeing how honest they are and the quality of work they provide, they have gained a loyal customer. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality work with honest pricing. Although I try to do my own wrenching on my classics (most shops won't touch them or don't want them), a man has to know his own limitations* so, on the recommendation of another shop, I called Lightfoot and made an appointment for my 71 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Well, Lightfoot Automotive saved me $2600! Another local shop said I needed both catalytic converters and four O2 sensors replaced, after the check engine light came on, for a cost of $3600. Someone had previously recommended Lightfoot, so I called and talked to Ray. He asked me the code they were seeing, which after telling him he said it's only for one cat and quoted me a price of $900 less tax. I made an appointment, took the car in and sure enough it was only one cat that was bad and the O2 sensors were fine. However, before they started the work they checked the codes to make sure and there was another code for Evap. Ray mentioned this could include the gas cap and then I realized the other shop had not cleared this code after they replaced a faulty gas cap. As a precaution, I spent an extra $64 to have Lightfoot check all the Evap hoses and connectors to make sure there wasn't something triggering the code, there wasn't. The next day I took my truck in for oil change and will continue to use Lightfoot for their expertise and honesty. BTW, Ray showed me the bad cat when I went into pay; shaking it indicated it truly was bad. I had other work done by the other local shop and they never showed me the bad parts; this was my fault for not asking, however now I'm wondering if I needed everything they claimed I did. read more

These guys did amazing work and for an incredibly reasonable price. After hitting the Rubicon, my Jeep began shredding a fan belt due to a broken water pump. I was stranded 1200 miles from home and these guys had me back on the road in 24 hrs. Customer service was friendly and straightforward. Took our 2004 4 runner there for new breaks and ended up having to take it back 3 different times because the brakes were worse AFTER the new ones were put on than before! After the 3rd time of them not getting it right, I ended up taking it to Les Schwab instead and they knew right away what the issue was and fixed it right then and there. The front office guy is VERY nice and tries to be as helpful as possible, wish I could say the same thing about the owner. Tried to talk to him about how unhappy we were and barely got an audible response from the guy. They did compensate us for our inconvenience by offering a free service the next time around, so I figured I'd give them another chance and took it in for an oil change and tire rotation/check. After they did that work, my tire pressure light came on in my car. What?! Didn't they check my tire pressure!? Won't be back.... read more

Lightfoot worked on my GMC Envoy when the A/C went out. I ended up having them replace the A/C compressor with a bypass pulley since this was a junker car anyways. They charged a very fair price, which wasn't even that much and the work was done within an hour. These guys are great and I highly recommend them! read more

Used them from out of town. Had squealing breaks from coming over the mountain pass. He was able to fit me in the same day. They did a brake inspection within an hour. It turned out I didn't need brakes, the pads were just dirty. He didn't charge me for the inspection, and even vacuumed my truck, free of charge! They got me back on the road very quickly! Five years ago when my Suburban needed service, a friend recommended Lightfoot Automotive. Each and every time I have taken a car to them for service I have received excellent customer care and automotive service. They have been accommodating with appointments, they call when they say they will to provide updates, and when an unforeseen problem arose (as they sometimes do), I received a call explaining the situation. Calvin has been exceptionally honest with me regarding what work needs to be done, what work I should consider now or in the near future, and what work can simply wait. Last year, out of perceived convenience, I took my Kia to a different mechanic closer to my job. $1500 later the problem still wasn't solved. Tired of spending money for someone to play guessing games I took my car back to Lightfoot (I never should have gone elsewhere!!). They correctly diagnosed the problem the first day, gave me options for repairs, and I was able to decide what to do with a full set of facts.
