After going over everything that was going on, Mike told me to not waste my money getting it looked and gave me knowledgeable advice about my truck and the transmission issues it has but that my transmison was going out but to drive it until it goes. one week later it went. I took it to the dealership I bought the truck from because they told me they could work with, After going through a huge hassle and a lot of stress I was able to get a new transmission. Less than a month later after being replaced I started filling weird things in the transmission, scared to deal with the dealership again, I called Mike as I had appreciated his honesty and straightforwardness. He told me to bring it over and he would test drive it. After reassuring me of how new transmissions work and what I was feeling I left filling a lot better and less stressed. I know that's some time back, but I'm tired of listening to my husband beat himself up about having taken his truck into Placerville Transmission and within just weeks, realizing the problem was not repaired. He took it in again, only to have Adolf pour some "shutter fluid" in, which did nothing to fix the problem. Now my husband doesn't like confrontation, so he drove the truck with a sickly transmission. I believe these people took us for a ride! First of all, it took 7 weeks for Placerville Transmission to get to the point of doing the work. This necessitated my husband paying almost $1,100 in rental car fees and then when the transmission still wasn't corrected, realized the warranty was only good for one-year! Fast forward to today, July 2025 and my husband has lived with the transmissions this way now for the past almost 3 years. The truck definitely needs to go back into the shop. We spent over $6,660 for the work which didn't even last a few months, never mind past the one-year warranty. We paid good money for a worthy rebuilt transmission, but my husband believes (and he's a gear head so knows cars) the shop put in a faulty rebuilt tranny obtained online. Shame on my husband for not demanding Placerville Transmission perform a proper repair, but mostly shame on them for allowing such sloppy, unprofessional and un-American work. They've lost a customer, but hopefully someone else won't be so easily taken.

In July 2020 the transmission blew up with fluids coming out all over the road heading up Hwy 88. Had it towed to his shop dropped it off and told him to fix whatever needed to be done, I figured I was going to be on the hook for another rebuild as the transmission was well beyond the 1 year warranty, however he only had put 11,000 miles on it. Rather than pull the car apart and charge us for it, Dave told him to drive on it for awhile and see if it went away. It did go away and we haven't had an issue since. I recently took my own car in for some basic maintence. He charged me less for an oil change than Jiffy Lube, took care of my axle, and told me that my concern about my belts was unfounded and the belts were totally fine (again, something he could have easily just done and charged me for). Working with this shop was easy (they have a key drop off) and at no point was I concerned that we were being ripped off.

Got here first thing in the morning on a Friday and was greeted by Carlos. He got me all set up and reassured me that they could make the repair. He checked all four tires for wear and advised me as such. Damien then took over the get the car into the bay and gave me the details on the repair. Shared some insights on servicing Rivian's and reassured me that they are very familiar with them and have serviced quite a few.
