I was looking to get a haircut before heading out to a wedding in LA and found Lightheaded Studio while researching some places. I usually go to Asian hair salons for a quick and easy cut but I wanted to find someone that could do an actual fade this time around. Set up an appointment online and came in. I didn't know the exact name of the haircut I was getting but used a reference photo and explained how I was trying to do something similar to a textured fringe. My hair at the time was super bulky/round on the sides so I wanted to lessen that as well. Emerson worked with me and got to cutting. He gave a solid fade and was easy to talk to. Shop was clean with just Emerson running it and I'd recommend if in the area. Takes card/venmo as well. I've had long hair my whole life and have been very nervous to chop it off, so I needed a a barber that not only knew and was confident with what they were doing, but one that was patient as I asked for their expertise and advice. Emerson was just that. He asked me for a few reference photos of something I could think of, outlined the shape of my face and gave me some suggestions. The best part was, we started off cutting off my hair little by little until I saw something I liked. He is very much "I can offer you suggestions but this is your hair." And I appreciated that so much about him. He even offered to show me the best way he thinks I can style my new cut once I was super excited for a length I could see myself rocking for a while. The location itself has some parking in the residential areas. The barber shop inside looks amazingly homey. There was a big TV that the game was playing on, some kid toys if you bring your kid there, water, a comfortable couch to wait on, it was very clean. I love the shop and I love the people here. Brought my super picky husband here and cry baby son and both came out looking SO GOOOD!!! Their hair cuts were so fresh.. my husband usually has some gripe, like the fade was too high or it didn't turn out the way he wanted but Emerson truly listened and pulled off exactly what my husband wanted. I didn't take pics right after at the salon but these should do the haircuts justice! There aren't that many barbers in the sunset mostly salons. But Emerson came through as pretty much the sunsets premier barber. He's super nice , studio is kept super clean and of course the cuts are fresh and exactly what you expect if not better. The great thing is appointments are easily accommodated without hesitation.
