Arrived at 9 am and had the Breakfast Buffet. Food tastesd good but was cold. Less than 1" gravy left in bottom of small pan, only 2 biscuits on buffet when we arrived. Asked about more but none were replaced while we were there. For $11.99 I really expected hot food and all items to be available! I will my take my business elsewhere next time. read more

If I could've given it no stars I would've my family and I came to Port Lavaca on a weekend trip to enjoy the bay This was one of the worst eating experiences in recent memory. We went to skillets to get some home cooking like the sign Outfront promised. When we walked in we were looked at like we didn't belong there. There aren't many options in port laVaca so we decided to try it anyway. Big mistake we should have chosen anywhere else. Aside from the feeling of not being welcome the food had no flavor. When they brought our food they told my wife that they had made the wrong order for her so they told her they were going to remake it which was not a big deal stuff happens. Then they set a random plate of eggs down on the table with the rest of the food and walked away. When they did finally bring her food it was raw not rare raw there is a difference. That was in stark contrast to my own food which was cooked to death. None of us finished more than a few bites and we asked for the check minus my wife's hamburger steak meal. We paid the $35 and left with the feeling that we could've just thrown that money out the window and been equally satisfied. Although the waitresses were friendlyish there was never an apology and when the plate was returned we could hear the cook with a horrible attitude complaining about us returning the raw food. If given the choice between eating there again or eating my own shoes I will spend the rest of my day walking around barefoot and I would advise you to make the same decision. Literally choose anywhere else to eat in Port Lavaca Texas but Skillets. This is the first review I've ever written in my life and that alone should tell you something. Unless you like spending money on possible food poisoning and to feel unwelcome stay far away from Skillets. The rest of the town is pretty cool to visit though read more

I'm in town visiting and looked for a quick, easy place to eat some dinner. Skillets turned out to be a not very wise choice. There was one large group when I entered, and I sat down at a booth, placed my drink order, followed shortly by my meal order (marinated chicken breast, baked potato, and a salad). I then waited. The salad came out immediately and was nothing more than lettuce & 2 packets of crackers. Now, the wait was on. A to go order was phoned in, plus several dine in tables were sat, and still I waited. My ticket time was over thirty minutes when my dinner arrived. The potato was small, other than that it was fine. The green beans were quite good, but it fell apart at the chicken. The breast was thin, had an off taste, and was rubbery. I'm confident that, if I ever do return here, I won't get the same thing. read more
