Before starting G and I went discussed my old issues and if any of that was still a problem, and anything new that he should be aware of, and or focus on. Old issues we worked on during my session, but started on the newer issues, which were the reason for making this recent amount. During my session G focused on new and old issues alike, using a series of different tools and practices. From cupping, to scraping (Graston) and other Istrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to stretching and manual massage. My experience was that I had to ask multiple questions to get clarity. I have consistently been seeing Dr. Silva for about 10 years…read more Contrary to what some other Yelpers have noted Dr. Silva is NOT a cash only business. Dr. Silva took my insurance for several years until my insurance carrier no longer had a chiropractic plan. I pay cash ONLY now because my new insurance carrier has a select group of chiropractors; none of whom gave me the results that Dr. Silva has. Even though my co-pay to see my insurance selected chiropractors is only $10 I prefer to pay substantially more, out of my own pocket, to see Dr. Silva. It is also my understanding that the office will bill auto insurance carriers for folks who've been in car accidents and are seeking chiropractic services from Dr. Silva. Again, contrary to what other Yelpers have stated Dr. Silva absolutely does adjustments. In the 10 years I have been seeing her if she was ever unable to perform a service that I expected she would have rescheduled her appointment with me. Not once in 10 years have I ever gone in and had her tell me "surprise I'm sorry I can't do this today!" I see Dr. Silva at least twice per month and she adjusts me on every single visit. As soon as I walk into her office she asks me what is going on and what brings me to her office. Dr. Silva does adjustments, muscle stimulation, works on pressure points (my term is "digging into my knots"), does "scraping" (rubs parts of your back with an oil and uses a stainless steel piece to scrape your back causing blood to flow to the surface of your skin helping blood circulate in the injured area ultimately restoring the injured area), massage, etc. Most people I know do not see the chiropractor until they are in pain or are hurting. Dr. Silva is in very high demand so if you're expecting a same day or very next day appointment at a particular time it might difficult to obtain as she is in very high demand with a long standing clientele. This lends credence that she has built up an excellent reputation over time. Overall I am extremely happy with Dr. Silva or else I would not have continued to see her. She has been one of only two chiropractors I have seen in my lifetime who have never hurt me. I have a number of existing next shoulder and back issues that have gotten better over the years due to my patronage to Dr. Silva. On occasion I do have flareups which she has helped me with immensely. I also see her for maintenance and not just when I have flareups. If you're not comfortable with her animals she will put them in another room but they are not dogs that are jumping and climbing all over her patients nor have I ever heard her dogs make one peep while in her office.

I had been using similar ointments for years, I didn't need to go to a chiropractor for ointment. Besides, these ointments are just temporary pain delivers, they do not address the cause of the pain. The biggest problem is that she would not perform any adjustments. She said that she had hurt her shoulder several years earlier and no longer does adjustments. I was extremely disappointed that she worked as a chiropractor but did not perform adjustments. I left, not only feeling exactly as much in pain as I had before visiting, but having spent a lot of money for the visit and having received no treatment. And while on the subject of money, it is a cash-only business. I can understand why, because if it was on credit, I would contested the payment.

While we both love dogs, it was jarring that a dog was not only in office but in the session as well. There wasn't any prior warning about the dog who is adorable, of course, but very present. Dr. Silva also does not wear a mask and even seemed boastful when she declared that she doesn't "even have one [a mask] in the office! For a body care worker to not even consider that she may have immunocompromised patients is alarming. Overall, this did more harm to more partner than good who needed their neck adjusted.
